Heart and Blood vessel disease also called heart disease can cause a lot problems like heart attacks, ischemic strokes, heart failure and many other problems all caused by bad nutrition choices. A good diet of using your food groups that you should’ve learned in elementary school will keep you away from obesity and things obesity can cause.
Obesity is a bad stage in life, if you ever reach that point and it’s hard to get the weight off. Obesity could run thru
Nutrition is a key component of an individual’s healthy well being. Many factors have a significant effect on nutrition and it is important to continuously maintain a balanced one. Having a good nutrition is one of the main defenses for an innumerous amount of illnesses and diseases that can harm the body. One would ask, “What is nutrition per say, and how do we maintain the balance of it?” Nutrition is defined as “the sum of the processes by which [a living thing] takes in and utilizes food substances.” (Merriam-Webster, 2011). It is the responsibility of each individual to assure the consumption of enough nutrients to nourish the body and to be cautious of harmful toxins. A child is dependent on their guardian on being taught how
Nutrition is important to understand because it is a significant contributor to the health and wellness of a human being. Nutrition can determine the weight of a person, the performance of organs and the body’s ability to prevent or accelerate certain diseases. Health and nutrition can be influenced by several factors such as family, friends, peers as well as physical and mental stress. As a young child, the immediate family is the biggest influence on nutrition because they are the first role models and establish the initial habits that the individual will develop. Through daily meal plans given to children, they can develop a standard of care in regard to nutrition and then incorporate key food groups into their daily diet. A child’s
Eating healthy is important for many reasons, it will promote intellectual development in children and adolescents prevent major health problems from developing and ensure a long and healthy life style. This research paper will introduce the importance of forming a healthy eating habit from a young age onto the senior years and will also point out some of the negative effects not eating healthy can cause such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, obesity, iron deficiency anemia, dental caries, under-nutrition, and eating disorders.
Obesity can lead to a number of different health issues, one of the least deadly but most popular is high blood pressure. One half of Americans aged 55-64 have high blood pressure, a major risk factor for heart disease and stoke- and two in five are obese according to Health, United States 2005(Obesity, High Blood Pressure). High blood pressure is an increase in the amount of blood your heart is pushing through the body with every heartbeat. The increase in pressure thickens the heart muscle, which makes it work harder, while as the heart, muscle thickens the harder it is to contract and relax. This strain on the heart over time could lead to heart failure. High blood pressure is a very common effect obesity has on the body simply because the more a person weighs the blood is being pushed throw the body. Of course, there are medications that can lower high blood pressure, although losing weight for an obese person with high blood pressure is a more recommended remedy. With high blood pressure, there is a far more likelihood of having a heart attack.
Implementing these lifestyle habits will result in healthier people and lowered rates of chronic illness. One avenue to best prevent the development of chronic disease is to have health and wellness programs in the community, workplace, and schools (NCSL, 2012). If the population was properly educated on how to realistically live healthy lifestyles, then it would be easier to change and adopt healthier habits. This is especially true for adolescents in the school system. If nutrition and health classes were mandatory components of education across the nation, children would be able to learn healthy habits early on in life and more easily maintain those habits as they grow older. Results of these programs would be vastly beneficial due to a reduction in chronic disease prevalence. In addition to promoting healthy lifestyles and chronic disease prevention, discovering and implementing newly effective treatments are paramount to reduce chronic disease. With more advanced technology and medications, early detection and management of chronic diseases are improved and risks for CCM are reduced (Chatterjee et al., 2014). These improvements will not only
A problematic health risk of obesity is type II diabetes. Type II diabetes is quite common among obese people. Type II diabetes is caused by the body being unable to produce insulin. This can result in high blood sugar levels, which can be harmful to the body. Obesity is also intimately intertwined with multiple health conditions that underlie cardiovascular disease. When someone becomes more obese their heart becomes at risk of disease that could cause multiple medical difficulties and is linked closely with increasing obesity-related deaths, particularly coronary heart disease. Coronary heart disease is when plaque gathers in arteries that are used for pumping oxygenated blood to the heart. The plaque can block the flow of blood to the heart causing heart failure. Another issue with obesity is high blood pressure. According to the national heart, lung, and blood institute, “Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against the walls of the arteries as the heart pumps blood. If this pressure rises and stays high over time, it can damage the body in many ways.” This means that when one gains weight, thus becoming more obese, one’s blood pressure levels increase and can become dangerously high, which can be harmful to the body. Another health risk of obesity in the body is increased chances of strokes. A stroke is caused when plaque builds up in the arteries then ruptures forming a blood clot, if the
Obesity occurs over time when you eat more calories than you use. The balance between your genetic makeup, overeating, eating high-fat foods, and not being physically active. Being obese increases your risk of diabetes, heart disease, stroke, arthritis, and some cancers. If you are obese, losing even 5 to 10 percent of your weight can delay or prevent some of these diseases. For example, that means losing 10 to 20 pounds if you weigh 200 pounds. All of this can come from eating unhealthy foods.
Nutrition plays an important role in one’s health, an unhealthy diet can be a contributing factor for overall poor health. In fact, it can even lead to numerous enduring illnesses, such as heart disease, obesity, and diabetes. 2and3 Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, affecting 11.3% of adults or 26.6 million. 4 Childhood obesity has been an increasing issue in the United States as well, There has been a rise in childhood obesity in children ages 6-11 years old gone upldren too many vaccinations at nging. are essential to public health and are also free their children too many vaccinations at from 6.5% to 19.5%. In children ages 12-19 years old it has gone up from 5.0% to 18.1% in 1998-2008. 5 In one study, doctors counseled adults and children on diet and nutrition during 12.2% of all visits in a targeted population of 15.2% in 2007. 6 It is recommended that individuals follow healthy diets that consist of health food choices such as fruits and vegetables. 2and3
Health is a diverse process because it is always changing. Sometimes our health is good, other times we may acquire a sickness & we can maybe even at times have a serious illness. Our health changes as much as our lifestyle changes. In order to stay healthy, you have to have that mindset every day to remain physically and mentally fit. I believe healthy nutrition is one of the most important things to keep your body going. Healthy nutrition is basically having a healthy balanced meal throughout the day’s length. Having a meal consisting of each food group is an example of a good balanced healthy meal.
Obesity is a leading cause of death in the USA and is also tied to chronic, costly diseases that troubles the health care system. The more body fat that you have and the more you weigh, the more likely you are to develop coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, type 2 diabetes, gallstones, breathing problems and certain cancers. Children and teens that are
All this food is never worked off and that's how the person becomes obese. Obesity is when a person has excess body fat, and a lot of fat around the waist can put you at a higher risk of getting type 2 diabetes. Most people think extra body fat isn't much of a concern but it can affect your heart which can lead to having a heart attack or a stroke.
Eating a healthy diet is instrumental in the reduction of the risk factors for several major diseases. Obesity, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol are a few of the risk factors that serve as precursors to major diseases, and can be controlled with healthy eating.
Obesity refers to the condition of having an extra amount of body fat. Obesity is caused by eating too much and moving too little. When an individual’s amount of body fat becomes too high, they are at a greater risk of being affected with life changing diseases such as heart failure, hypertension, type II diabetes, cancer, gallbladder disease, osteoarthritis, and others. This shows that people should become more physically active and attempt to make healthier choices because their life depends on the decisions, they make.
Maintaining healthy eating habits does so much for your body. Eating healthy can prevent and control health problems. It has shown to help and prevent heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and even some cancers. It is not the same as going on a diet for weight control. Diets are temporary and make you eat less food rather than
Ever since I can remember, I have always wanted to do something special in life. I was born in a small village in Mexico where public health and education were very limited. In 1996, my family and I got the opportunity to move to the United States. This move brought me closer than I had ever thought possible to accomplishing my dream of becoming a registered dietitian and working in public health nutrition. I have always valued my education because where I am from it was really difficult to study beyond middle school. Here, in the United States, I have gotten the chance to further my education beyond high school.
