In society today, a college education is often seen as a “the next step” in a young adult’s life. Whether they actually know what they would like to earn a degree in, they feel the need to continue their education as almost everyone around them is pursuing post-secondary education of some sort. It is often argued that a college education is not necessary to get ahead because of the manufacture based workforce that is up and coming in America, however, there are many benefits to having a post-secondary education such as a higher rate of pay and more job opportunities.

One of the most important decisions in any teenager’s life is what they decide to do after high school, the choice is usually between college and deciding to get a job and start making money. Although the cost of education in America continues to rise, the benefits of a higher education are substantial and can be seen in the success of anyone who has a college degree.

College is not just a choice, it's the beginning of a lifelong journey, one that will shape and determine future choices, decisions and purposes. A high school graduate tends to have no background of job experience or any essential skills to work at a decent company. Throughout the years, America has always debated whether higher education helps people succeed or if needed, but with that come along many risk and benefits for state funding.

When thinking about the future, college is usually the first option on student’s mind. It is the place to go if someone wants to have a successful life, but there is more than one way to get to a destination and that applies to life after high school to. College is important, but careful considerations need to be put in on the debt that would have to be paid back, the other options that are available that could earn as much as a person with a degree, and the stigma of not going to college because there are many different roads that can lead to success.

Aside from the High School and College similarities, they both portray many striking differences that set them apart from one another. From the dress codes that everyone detests and the home homework every student tried to cram before class starts all the way to even the sweet and sour pretzels in the vending machines.

College is an organized group of professional people with particular aims, duties, and privileges. Many people don’t attend college because they think they’ll be just fine with a high school diploma. The truth is you will always be much more qualified with a college diploma. Nowadays, most jobs require people who are well educated and have great job skills. Therefore, the people who want a good job have to study hard and at least graduate with a high education. Furthermore, as technology advances all over the world, more and more education is required from people. Most jobs overlook people with only high school diplomas, for example if they had to choose between two people one with a college degree and one without, the person with the degree would get the job. First, people say that getting a job is the first obstacle in life. The second obstacle is getting married and third is how to take care of your child or children. In order to pass the first obstacle, which getting a good job is the most important. The result of this first obstacle can impact the second and third obstacles. This expresses how important it is to get a job. College expresses how well organized you are and also how smart and what habits you have. Also, this means that the applicant has the potential to work hard and keep the work that the applicant is suppose to do.

College is an educational institution that offers post-secondary education and it provides specialized professional, vocational, or technical trade qualifications that allow students to gain the tools and skills necessary for future employment (DiLascio, p.3). It guides students how to learn, how to find information, and how to work collaboratively across disciplines and cultures, since we live in a world where interaction with others is no longer bound by geography. In college, students establish the intellectual foundations for their careers, and it is when they have the freedom to explore paths their lives might take by putting choices in front of students in an academically structured manner (p.3). The financial security and the civic involvement of the American people require that each generation be educated to achieve success in society and to withstand the challenges of time.

College, a wonderful school that provides education after high school. Many jobs prefer that you go to college and get a degree so that you look better for the job, or that you can prove that you can do the job required. Most high school around the world are free and college is very expensive. One difference is that in high school a person lives at home with their parents and in college an individual lives with one or more friends on campus. Another difference is that in high school the students are required to be at school and in class, were as in college the professors do not particularly care if each student is there or not. In high school the teachers and staff view the students as being very immature and still children and in college they view students as adults and it is the student's responsibility to be there. Once an individual starts college they are expected to know what they want to do with the rest of their lives and some do but not all. Therefore, if they know what they want to do they start to take those kind of classes. Which means they make their own schedules to fit into their life.
