I have doubted myself many times through out my life. Students who play any athletic High School sport have most likely doubted themselves before. The fact that there is room for little to no error can cause athletes to doubt themselves on if they can achieve their goals. I know this feeling because I have personally had doubt about achieving my goals in soccer. Every student athlete dreams of playing the sport they love in their future, whether it is in college or even to go play as a professional. I have played other sports in my life, but soccer has always been my favorite sport. I decided to drop every other sport I was in to play soccer. It was a pretty hard decision because I really did like playing other sports, but I really wanted …show more content…
Every year the game got more and more serious and now the team wanted to win just as much as they wanted to have fun. When I entered High School soccer I was very nervous because I was in the youngest age group. There was a lot of older and more experienced players on the team. The summer before the season started the team went to a soccer camp to play against opposing teams, and as a new player I was very nervous to play. It was my first year playing High School Soccer, with no experience. The team played a couple games, and I was put on varsity to play. I was so nervous. I did not think I could keep up with the pace and the intensity of the game. The team ended up winning the tournament in that camp. When the real season started, I was starting on varsity my freshman year. I felt like I had no room for mistakes or I would get yelled at and taken out of the game. During the first two years of High School soccer, I also played basketball and club soccer. I decided that I really wanted to take my soccer career further. I decided not to play basketball anymore and just focus on soccer. I attended a recruiting session, which sets up your profile so colleges
In my life soccer has been the only thing I’ve ever been passionate and good at in my life. Yes, I'm not necessarily good at school and my act score isn’t the best. But I do think I’m an Excellent player. With soccer in my life it gives me a little happiness I can juggle with for the time being.
The NFL has crossed a line with it's archaic medicinal marijuana policy and are contributing to the opioid epidemic. The NFL has suspended Buffalo Bills offensive lineman, Seantrel Henderson, for 10 games following a third failed drug test for marijuana. Now Seantrel Henderson's story is not your typical failed drug test story. He has Crohns disease and has had two intestinal surgeries this year. His doctors say he can't take normal pain medicine because of the condition of his stomach and intestines are in.
Baseball is a great sport because of its amazing history and its easy accessibility. The MLB, Major League Baseball, was founded in 1869. The MLB started off by not allowing African American men play with Caucasian men. The African American men made their own league called the Negro League. Now, in the MLB there are twenty-nine teams placed all around the United States and one in Canada. However, when the MLB was first founded, there were only fifteen teams. The original fifteen team’s names changed and many moved to a different state. Jackie Robinson broke the MLB’s color barrier in 1947. Therefore, Jackie helped start the process of forming one league together instead of two leagues based upon race. The equipment when the MLB started was not safe. For example, the gloves they used to have little to no padding.
Pop Warner Football is a good way to get your kid active and want to workout while eating healthy. Pop Warner Football is a organization for kids ages 8-14. It is designed to install discipline, teamwork, work ethic, and to let out any anger or frustrations safely. I will allow my son to play football because it's good giving an adolescent an active way to express themselves and keep them out of trouble. Football can lead to a career, healthier lifestyle, but also cause traumatic brain disease.
Seattle's pass defense has collapsed without Earl Thomas, ranking fifth in Football Outsiders DVOA through Week 11 but 30th out of 32 teams since Thomas missed his first game in Week 12. However, Detroit's passing game has similarly collapsed since Matthew Stafford hurt his finger early in Week 14, ranking 10th through Week 13 but 27th over the past four weeks. It would seem those matching declines would cancel each other out, but the problem for Detroit is that Seattle is better at everything else except special teams. Detroit has little ground attack, while Seattle has one of the 12 best run defenses since FO advanced stats began in 1989. Seattle's offense has been only average this season, but the Detroit defense is much worse than it looks.

It wasn’t an easy decision since being a multi-sport athlete, I was also a great boxer and football player. I had love for the sports that I took part in, the potential I had was like no other. I had the academic qualities and physical attributes to go a long way with all three sports but nothing beats time. I had to make this decision in order to establish what I was going focus on. I decided to focus on soccer because this sport takes my mind off everything, I feel like i'm in a different realm when I play, I don’t get that feeling for anything
Yet my apprehension prevailed as I continued to fear getting put in the game in case another player was injured. I was still afraid of making mistakes and getting blamed by screaming coaches and angry teammates. Sometimes these fears came true. During my sophomore season, my position led me to play in the varsity games on many occasions. On such occasions, I often made mistakes. Most of the time the mistakes were not significant; they rarely changed the outcome of a play. Yet I received a thorough verbal lashing at practice for the mistakes I had made. These occurrences only compounded my fears of playing. However, I did not always make mistakes. Sometimes I made great plays, for which I was congratulated. Now, as I dawn on my senior year of soccer, I feel like a changed person.
As a child, I grew up playing travel soccer, and it was what my life revolved around. My weekdays were filled with practices, my weekends filled with tournaments. Soccer was all I knew and all I wanted to do. I had dreams of making my high school varsity team, and even one day playing when I got to college. This all changed during one weekend tournament. My team and I were in the first half of the first game that weekend when I was injured and carried off the field. From that point, I never stepped foot into a soccer game again.
My season was unfortunately cut short by a demoralizing ACL tear in my other knee. At this point in my life I began to feel depressed and I could not understand why this happened to me, again. I questioned if rehabilitating and continuing to pursue my soccer career was really worth it any more. With immense motivation and encouragement from friends and family, I decided I would continue.
Some people think that sports are much greater than academics, that's why some high schools consider these activities bad. Eliminating sports can help students do better in school and that can give more time for students to study and complete homework. Therefore, districts should eliminate sports to save money so students can have better academics, and so students can have more time to complete their homework and, to study.
I thought less about the high school soccer team I didn’t make, and more about myself. I didn’t cry after the games anymore, and while the team still possessed little skill and our record reflected this, I didn’t hate it. This soccer team stressed me less than my high school’s, and I put less pressure on myself. I still wanted to play well, but with the stakes not nearly as high, it became an enjoyable pastime. I focused on school, kept the job that I planned on quitting in the fall, and even found more time to volunteer around my school and community. I focused on other pieces of my life, and less on soccer, but in a way that made it more fun. It’s not a colossal part of my life anymore, and though not making the team still stings, I have come to terms with it. One thing cannot define me. While I still enjoy playing soccer, I realized I have so much more to
High School football begined in the 19th and late 20th century and is played by many countries such as the United States and Canada. Football is my favorite sport because you actually get to hit somebody and the fans of our teams cheer us on. Also, I love football because our cheerleaders doing our school chants and picking us up when our heads go down and motivate us more. My first football game I was very nervous because I thought I was going to do bad or let the team down because I never played in a big crowd before but I got over my fear and loved football since and worked harder and harder each game. The things I really love the most about football ls Homecoming games because we get
