I believe that Polk County Early College High School would be a great school for me because of smaller class sizes and more one on one opportunity with teachers. I feel that I thrive in that kind of setting because you can feel free to ask for help if needed, and it will be provided much more easily than in a larger class room. I also love the opportunity that the school provides to be able to earn college credits while attending high school. I am a very self motivated person and being able to complete work at my own pace would be significant. It was the end of the 1st semester of my sophomore year and I was discussing classes with my counselor, the fact that I was joining AVID I knew in that moment I realized that I had to take school more seriously. College is just around the corner, I knew that I needed to make a change and be more responsible in my life. When my counselor told me in order to be in the program you have to maintain a good GPA. It helps that I've always had decent grades throughout my life in school so that wasn’t a problem.

In 8th grade, I was told I would be moving to a new country, so my parents could start their new careers of being missionaries. At first, I was so happy and excited for this new adventure. However, after I entered high school I did not want to leave, I wanted to be involved with my school and in activities. The decision my parents made really affected my life, I became very angry with them and started to do things I normally wouldn’t do, like self-harm. Before entering my junior year of high school my family and I moved to Costa Rica. Instead of being angry and having self-pity, I decided to be optimistic and think of the experience as a grand adventure that no one else gets encounter. College is a time for people to start reaching their goals they had set for themselves. That is what Megan was doing. Freshman year is a tenacious year for numerous of people. There is a change in scenery, making new friends, starting to figure out who you are as an individual. Megan strived to be better at long-distance running. In today’s society, the media has an extensive impact on body image and how to be beautiful. The images displayed on websites, television, and magazine are not realistic or healthy. When ordinary people look at these people in magazines, they compare themselves to those images and think they are overweight. Today, being slightly overweight or at a normal weight is frowned upon.

Now that I have been through half a year of high school, there are many things that Freshman should need to know coming into it next year. The most major thing is that this is taken way more serious than middle school because this actually counts toward something. Next they should just do their work because if they don’t then they will struggle to bring their grade back up. Also, they need to listen more to what the teacher is saying because it is crucial to know how to do something on a project or homework. Last, is to just not be scared or nervous coming into high school because it isn’t difficult, we have all been through it so there is not anything to be nervous about.

I was very excited to start my junior year of college. I had a great year my second and third year and now was excited to see my friends, play soccer and work hard to improve my grades like always. I am m not very proud that I end my junior semester year with a 2.5 GPA. This was my hardest semester because I change my major from Physical Education to Business Administration.

A successful transition to school involves children, families, early childhood and school professionals to build strong, positive, collaborative and supportive relationships through regular and meaningful exchange of information of different perspectives from various stakeholders. During the preschool to primary school transition, children potentially will encounter physical, social and pedagogical discontinuities in their experiences of starting school. Although the transition practices exercised in the school sought to nurture and maintain relationships among key stakeholders, the management team and other members of staff need to work further to establish practices which assess and address the needs of individual children more accurately.

Early junior year was a very rough time for me when it comes to the gradebook. The first semester of the 2016-2017 year I ended up with two F’s, two D’s, a B+ and a C-, which was very, very bad. I realized this was not what I was capable of and it was not anywhere near my best work. My parents were disappointed with my actions. It was instilled in me at a young age by my parents that school ALWAYS comes first. My theater director who taught me all throughout high school was disappointed in me, and my soccer coach was disappointed in me.

To avoid the zombies in my school I would have to stay off the third floor because once I go there, I only have the choice of going downstairs. Also, I would go hide in the rooms that are accessible by authorized personal like the security room because that decreases the chances of someone finding me. While hiding I would bring a pocket knife, ropes, a banana, a lock with keys, and a jacket. A pocket knife and ropes will help me protect myself, while a banana could be places on the floor to make someone fall or for a snack when I get hungry. There are over two hundred and fifty higher education institutions in the state of Texas. This number will most likely seem like a lot to the average high school senior trying to figure out which college is best for him/her. For me it was hard before my junior year, I went from wanting a Longhorn to Roadrunner, a Bear, an Aggie and a Leo before eventually deciding to become an Islander. As you can see I have changed my mind a lot and this was all between my seventh grade year to the end of the summer going into my junior year. Not to mention the stent when I wanted to go to Yale because I was obsessed with Gilmore Girls one summer in elementary and also because I loved Rory’s dorm room. There comes a point in every teen’s life where they are faced with the decision of getting a job, while some will jump at the chance, others will discard the idea, believing it’ll do more harm than good. For those who proceed to the next step of acquiring a job, the inevitable speech of, “If your grades start to drop, you’re quitting you’re job,” is said, and the astonishing world of working while in high school is revealed. Even though the teen might be ready to acclimatize themselves to adulthood, some parents are not as receptive to the idea of juggling high school and a job, viewing it as useless and not worth the extra spending money. However, working while in high school has many positive character building effects, since it teaches responsibility, improves time management skills and helps prepare for the future.

Many college students find their freshmen year emotionally challenging. For instance, transitioning to a new place far from home they find themselves alone, depressed and emotional. Other students work so hard to achieve their goals of academic excellency, that they overwhelm themselves to exhaustion. By the same token, receiving negative feed back from teachers can lower students’ self-esteem. First semester of mine sophomore year had some challenging things. One was taking a course called Chemistry in that class we do a lot of math and some awesome labs too. I believe chemistry is way harder than my normal math class. The homework sometimes was really hard to understand so sometimes I asked for help. Another big challenge I had was fixing my schedule because I never had time to do stuff like homework and study for important test because I would always be busy doing something else. My last challenge for first semester was completing a book over thanksgiving break. Why was it a challenge because I started all late but and the end it was worth reading it. I continued to do the bare minimum required to pass each of my classes throughout my high school career. On my 15th birthday, my mother told me that I had finally reached the legal age to start working in the state of Georgia. She further explained that I must find a job so that I could establish independence and save money to purchase a vehicle when on my next birthday. Although I completely disagreed with my mother and felt that her requiring me to get a job was unfair, I wanted to make her proud and set a goal to purchase my very own car, with no financial help, when I turned 16.
