• I belong to a school that has 1,301 students enrolled. I was nominated and voted on by the entire student body to be on the Homecoming court. September 4th, 2015, I represented the senior class during the annual Homecoming game. When asked about homecoming I simply say, “Homecoming was my favorite high school memory and I’m grateful to everyone who let me be apart”.
• In the beginning of October 2015, “Senior Superlatives” were voted on by the entire senior class. I won “Best Personality” and could not be more appreciative.
• In February 2015, I placed Gold (1st place) in a District Competition which advanced me to the State level competition. In April 2015, I placed Silver (2nd place) which advanced me to National level competition in
I was given the Esmark All-American Award in recognition for my outstanding achievements in athletics, academics, and community service, combined
Being on Homecoming Court was a great experience and I can sincerely say that I enjoyed it. It was nice getting to know the other seniors on court, and it was fun to spend hours of practicing the Homecoming Court dance with them. I learned that there was actually a lot of work that comes with being on court, like learning how to dance in just a few days and participating in all of the assembly rehearsals. I also got to see for myself all of the hard work that ASB and Senate do for the school, and it was really impressive. At the Homecoming Game, the court was a little nervous as we waited for half time to hear the announcement, but the amount of support between us was extraordinary.
I have several notable accomplishments, most of them are of academics. Some of the awards/accomplishments that I can recall ever since I was in middle school are: First position on spelling contest, department award for the most Helpful student, Student of the quarter, Presidential award for educational excellence (Gold Seal), 4.0 Honor roll, Indian Classical dance, Achieve3000 state winner, department award for “Excellence in English Language Acquisition,” and Academic Excellence Lettering Award. Among all these awards and recognition, I consider Achieve3000 to be the greatest because it was a state level competition and was moderately competitive to win. In the Achieve3000 program, basically, an individual has to compete with the students
The time I first experienced growth was when I went on my first mission trip ever, and it just so happened to be over the weekend of my 16th birthday. I did not know anyone in my group, yet we were united with a common goal to serve our community. Going into the weekend I thought I would inspire and help people, little did I know that in my own life I would be inspired. On our first day serving the community, we went to a neighborhood in Los Angeles, that had severe poverty, to help families obtain food and play with the kids. The apartments had broken windows, barely working doors, and bars to protect outsiders from coming in, yet the people were so humble and happy. All the other students in my group were either speaking Spanish to help the elders, drawing with the little kids, or playing soccer. My new friend Alec told me to join the soccer game, so I did. I was put on a team with my new friend Kevin, and two brothers named Diego and Jesse. Half way through the game my competitive side grew and i began to feel less restrained, so I kicked harder. I ended up kicking the ball so hard it hit little 5 year old Jesse in the head, I felt remorse. Jesse surprised me with a huge smile as to say,’
Last year, I received a commendable G.P.A of 4.4. This proves that I not only take difficult courses like Honors and Ap classes, but also contribute great amount of hard work and dedication to overcome those challenges and succeed. Other than my transcript, I received man recognition for my academic achievements. I attended many Honor Rolls and received Academic Letter Award every year. In addition, I also participated in competitions, like Junior Math Leagues, Science Fair, and NHD(National History Day), to test my knowledge in academics. I competed in the Science Fair and won first place in school division. In NHD, I have received first place in school, district, and state competition. By participating in these competition, it motivates me to strive higher. Lastly, I am a member of NAHS(National Art Honor Society), NSHS(National Spanish Honor Society), NMHS(National Math Honor Society), and Tri M Music Honor Society. This demonstrates my high interest and excellence in all four subjects: Art, Spanish, Math, and
When I entered sixth grade, I was admitted into the National Junior Honors society for receiving high grades, displaying good character, showing respect towards fellow classmates, and having a positive influence in those in my grade. In eighth grade
Lurking in the 83-degree weather of October is a classic high school theme. There are dozens of movies whose entire plot describes a high school homecoming. Homecoming rituals at my high school are very cliché; everything revolves around dress up week, the football game, and the (dreaded) dance.
Being a Redkin at Chowchilla Union High School was full of great memories with even greater people. All four years at this school were amazing, but senior year was my favorite. When senior year first started I was playing tennis with a team that had a lot of potential. It was my second year playing as the number one singles and at the number one doubles spot with my partner Amy. While season was in progress homecoming was coming up and I was nominated to run for homecoming queen. On the big game day I wore an aqua dress, everyone said I looked like The Little Mermaid, the sprinklers even shot out behind me. I was nervous as well as all the other nominees. After Cooper Seals got called and crowned homecoming queen they announced my name. I

Also in 2016, I was awarded with two honor trophies for achieving second place at the UIL District
The contributions I have made to my school include participating in volleyball from the fall of 2014 to present. For volleyball, we have collected food for the food pantry, conducted a youth night to teach younger children the fundamentals of volleyball, and a breast cancer awareness night which included raising money to fund breast cancer research. I also participate in dance and softball. For the 2016 softball season I was chosen for the spirit award because of my positive attitude and energy during games and practices. Through hard work and dedication the dance team won conference champs at the 2016 conference competition. I was chosen by my coaches for the Limitless Leader Award and the Sportsmanship Award in 2015 and last year. I have earned a varsity letter in
Who we are is a concoction of our life journey, relationships, tastes, goals, and countless other things. I am a family girl from Mexico who is a first generation college student. My family is the greatest part of who I am. They would give and do anything for me and vice versa. Life has brought me to the construction science program at Texas A&M and I could not be more excited to finally see the light at the end of the tunnel!
The most recent of awards was in sixth grade. I received the a-b honor roll for
After high school, I am going to attend Texas A&M to get an undergraduate degree in public economics and after that I will pursue further education at the Texas A&M Law School. I am going to get a degree in law so that when I graduate I can be a partner in my family's law firm. For the past couple of years I have toyed with the thought of either going to join the marines or being a lawyer but in the end I came to the conclusion that becoming a lawyer was the best bet for me; three generations of my family have done it and I would like to fill their shoes and carry out tradition.
Last night I made my first trip to Columbus West high school to take in the homecoming game between,West high school and South high school. South entered 3-4, while West came in with a 2-5 record.
