I perceive that you get many essays that all sound the same about why the people of St.Josephs want to be apart of the honor society. But in this essay I would like to tell you the truth I would like to change the consensus. The meaning of a Honor Society is group of students that have one thing in common good grades. But what is the definition of good grades, this is in the discretion of the college not the students. Every student learns differently. Every student has a different situation. Yet we are all equal to one type of standards. Yet a 3.5 GPA is the definition of high academic achievement. But I understand that these are the standards of our society. At a young age I always hated school, and was never was any good at it. I had a learning disability that was not found till fourth grade. Making school very hard for me, but I never quite I always worked hard. I worked harder then all of the other kids just to pass. While all the other children did not try one bit and were doing a hundred times better then me. When college rolled around My SAT was not good enough nor were my grades Although there was clear progression from freshman year to senior year. But non of that mattered to the colleges one thing mattered A test that everyone took and everyone received one good grade. That is why I feel so caluse to these society’s and situations. But now I have found my way to learn and that has helped me to get the grades have gotten. I felt that I deserved a reward for my hard work considering I was never able to join something of this stature. But when I sat down to wright why I wanted to be apart of this society I could only think future. I thought to myself with these grades, extra curricular’s, and the title of Honor Society would separate me from other competition in my future. In todays world it is very difficult to make a name for your self and even get a job in your perspective field. That is why I feel in todays society anything to set yourself apart from others is imperative. I also feel that by joining this society it will allow me to motivate myself to do better and better each semester. keeping me on my toes at all times. My family has always motivated me to do better and now finally I get the chance to take this opportunity to expand myself as a student and as a person, by challenging myself. I am grateful to get the chance to join this
