In this case, the feathers are truly known as “feathering,” and they are the long hairs that flow around the lower legs of certain breeds of draft horses. And while this type of horse features white feathers, it is also known for its height and size. First developed in Scotland, the breed takes its name directly from a Scottish county. However, we often associate this breed with the city of St. Louis, Missouri. In the early 1930s, a famous brewery began to feature the breed in events aimed at celebrating the repeal of Prohibition. We often think of this edible herb as being one of the main ingredients of Italian cooking. This material was in use as far back as ancient Egypt, and it has found itself recast (and recast, and recast) throughout history.
