Abraham Lincoln was born February 12, 1809. He was born in Hodgenville, Kentucky. His parents were Thomas Lincoln and Nancy Lincoln. He had a brother and a sister. Their names were Thomas Lincoln Jr. and Sarah Lincoln Grigsby. He got married to Mary Todd Lincoln. Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States. He created the Emancipation Proclamation. This document said that if you were a slave you could be free. This also allowed African American soldiers to fight in the Union. Lincoln was a strong supporter of the 13th amendment, which abolished slavery.

He chooses this gun because it's one that can be concealed easily, or unseen. He sneaks behind Lincoln and shoots him at point blank range. Lincoln slumps over. He is paralyzed. He is also unconscious and have difficulties breathing. Rathbone tries to go after Booth, but is stabbed in the shoulder by Booth. No one know Lincoln has been shot. Booth has done it while everyone was laughing, so the sound would be concealed. They finally figure out when they hear Mary's scream. Booth jump 12 feet down out of the box and onto the stage and breaks his leg. He says “ Sic semper tyrannis (Thus away to tyrants). South had been avenged!” After this happens Booth goes out the stage door in the back, and leaves on horseback. Next Charles Leane, a 23 year old doctor, rushes to help Lincoln in his box. No one knows what to do. They would rush him to the White House, but are afraid that the bumpy ride there could kill him. Soldiers decide to carry him out and across the street. They carry him to the Petersen House. He was met there by a surgeon. The surgeon said that Lincoln could not be saved and would die soon. Lincoln dies at the Petersen House at 7:22 AM. Booth is now being charged for the murder of the president of the United States. Booth created one of the biggest manhunts in history. 10,000 troopers, detectives, and police hunted him. After 12 days, they have finally found him. They have put an end to the one of the largest manhunts in history. They have found him on a farm in Virginia. He is hiding out in a barn. It is said that he left the theatre during intermission and went to the saloon next door for a drink, leaving Lincoln exposed. Booth stopped at Samuel Mudd's house to get his leg treated by this doctor (“Abraham”/history.com). The doctor was sent to prison for life since he treated Booths leg. Before booth and Herold could get across the river, unions soldiers caught them (“Abraham”/history.com). The soldiers set the barn on fire that Booth was in hoping he would come out.
