1543-1800 was the time period when the Scientific Revolution existed. It helped emerge modern science and the way our society was formed. This period consisted of developments in astronomy, mathematics, biology, and physics. Many different scientists helped shape the Scientific Revolution, one of those great scientists was Leonardo Da Vinci.

Leonardo Da Vinci was born on April 15th, 1452, in Vinci, Italy. As a child, young Leonardo lived with his dad who adopted him at age 5. He was very concerned with the laws of science and nature. Since there wasn't school for him to attend, he would explore the woods around him during the day. This helped develop Leonardo's future and how he became such a well known person today. Leonardo also created the Last Supper, along with many other paintings. Not only was he an artist, but Leonardo also invented on paper, the bicycle, helicopter, airplane, telescope, and the parachute. He also wrote a book called the Elementary Theory of Mechanics. In addition, Leonardo also drew the Virtruvian man. Also known as Renaissance humanism, which combined art and science together. This drawing was so important to the Scientific Revolution because the Renaissance time period transformed the cultural, social, intellectual, and political surface of European life.
