Leonardo Da Vinci
One of the most celebrated geniuses of history is Leonardo Da Vinci. He’s one of the greatest inventors. Millions of things were invented by Da Vinci! The careers that he had are the following: an astronomer, inventor, painter and much more. To understand how he is known as one of the greatest genius of history you have to look at what did he worked as, his painting, scientific ideas, and legacy.
How many careers did Da Vinci have? Da Vinci learned a lot of things with the artist Verrocchio. There he learned about metalworking, carpentry, sculpting, leather arts, and drawing. The careers he had were mathematician, writer, artist, and inventor (Leonardo Da Vinci).
Da Vinci used two of his careers at the same time (or the knowledge

Normally if you discovered an incredible idea or something you would’ve tell everybody but Da Vinci didn’t. His ideas were discovered when he died. Sadly, most of his ideas and laws were discovered when science already had discovered most of them. Maybe he didn’t want anybody to steal it so he wrote his laws and ideas backwards (Finnan). Da Vinci used his ability of drawing into his scientific laws and ideas. He drew the Vitruvian Man and it was perfectly drawn. 13,000 papers were used by Da Vinci to write his ideas and maybe he used this amount because of the space the drawings took. He didn’t want to waist his abilities so he used two of his abilities at the same time (World Encyclopedia 46-47) (Zimmerman). One part of the legacy of Da Vinci is his paintings of the Mona Lisa and the Last Supper. These two paintings make him so famous because these paintings have a secret. The Mona Lisa contains numbers hidden in the painting. The Last Supper is if you turn the painting around the people change their actions. If you ask someone “Who drew the Mona Lisa and Last Supper?” they will tell you Da Vinci did it (not everybody but most of the people). (World Encyclopedia 46-47)(Craven 22-23). A lot of ideas were discovered by Da Vinci. He discovered how the human body functioned. Also he discovered new inventions for the army and for people. For
Leonardo Da Vinci grew up in Florence where at the age of twenty he was accepted into the Florences Guild of St. Luke as a master artist. This was just the beginning for Leonardo for he would later be recognized as one of the greatest artists, engineers, and scientist of all time. Throughout his life Leonardo explored all of these fields and through this he encountered many important discoveries. He was able to exchange some of these discoveries through his paintings as he popularized and created certain techniques through his paintings. He was also able to share some of his ideas of engineering because he was commissioned to work on many projects involving things such as: architecture, military engineering, canal building, and weapons design.
Along with his sketches of the human body, he also had thousands of pages of inventions that were the foundations for many things that are used today. One of his sketches was of a flying machine that resembles a modern helicopter. He was believed to study birds and bats and the ways that they flew. Taking what he learned about aeronautics, he created a sketch of a flying machine 500 years before the Wright brother’s created their model of the airplane and were the first to fly. Another of da Vinci’s sketches was the machine gun. “Although he did not create the machine guns that are used today, he did invent the first weapon which fired volleys at rapid intervals.” The gun was a portable and fast weapon with a lot of firepower. This invention of da Vinci would have been extremely important for armies during battle. While working with Ludovico Sforza, da Vinci proposed the ultimate war machine, a tank. His drawing showed a large armored structure with guns poking out of each side. “The guns, firing in all directions, would have been devastating to enemy ranks.” These are just a few of the thousands of inventions da Vinci came up with. Even though he never actually created these things, his drawings were building blocks for the tools we use
All of his paintings, sculptures, and ideas mark his accomplishments, and significance to us. Da Vinci's two most famous paintings include the Last Supper and the Mona Lisa. The Mona Lisa is an extremely famous painting that is known by people all over the world. Da Vinci painted it in the years spanning from 1503-1506. The most fascinating part about the painting is the unproven identity of the women, and her strange, sneaky smile as well as the eyes that seem to follow you wherever you go.
Leonardo was the son of a Florentine and a peasant mother. The works he was involved in was art, painting, architecture, science, math, engineering, anatomy, history, geology, writing, plants, animals, people, and a few more he was interested. Leonardo was known for being a Renaissance genius. Some of Leonardo’s works were only known by the drawings before he made it related to the project he would be working on. Leonardo did his studying in Santa Maria Nuova hospital for his knowledge on anatomy. The years from 1510 to 1511 were his most active years for him not just in anatomy also in painting and sculpturing. Most of Leonardo’s talents and skills developed at a very early point in his life, he in deed take to his advantage. His originality was the greatest of minds that had ever lived in
Leonardo da Vinci’s ideas were revolutionary. If his ideas were actually built, rather than staying as mere sketches their entire life, they might have revolutionized the history of technology. All around us, we still see objects that are based off of Leonardo’s ideas, in one way or another. Da Vinci was really curious about flight, and he dreamed of one day of being able to soar the skies, so he designed a flying machine, known as the “Ornithopter.” This idea was based off of winged animals, such as birds and bats.
Leonardo da Vinci (1452–1519) is the epitome of a Renaissance polymath. While he made contributions in various subject areas ranging from art to anatomy, young da Vinci had his mind set on art, training to be an artist and sculptor in the workshop of Andrea del Verrocchio for a decade. The insatiable hunger for knowledge that was found in young da Vinci never left him as the polymath was always curious about the world and humans. Drawing soon became a tool for him to record his discoveries on human anatomy. Leonardo, despite his many unfinished paintings, still has produced almost 2,500 artworks although most exist in his various notebooks. Working in Florence, Milan, Rome and France, da Vinci’s accomplishments and ideas as an artist, scientist and inventor have influenced countless works around the world.
Da Vinci studied many things, rather than just art. He took up architecture, engineering, and science (Magurn). The great studies of da Vinci left many notebooks of his filled up with knowledge. People saw and continue to see that he had “superhuman” abilities and that he
Leonardo da Vinci was known as an inventor, mathematician, and most of all an artist. He was considered a Renaissance man. Da Vinci was talented in MANY ways. He helped with the sciences, art techniques, and was one of the first people to dissect a human body. Da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452 in Vinci, Italy. His mother was a maid and his father was a public notary in Milan. At the age of 14, Da Vinci became an apprentice to Andrea del Verrocchio, one of the best painters at that time! With help from Verrocchio, Da Vinci learned how to paint, sculpt, and learned skills in metallurgy, drafting, chemistry, and carpentry. Out of all of these, his heart was with art. Da Vinci and Verrocchio created many pieces together such as "The Baptism of
While Leonardo da Vinci is most known for his painting skills, such as the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper, he was a great architect, mathematician, inventor, and a revolutionary scientist. Leonardo da Vinci lived from 1452-1519. Leonardo da Vinci was a leading artist and intellectual of the Italian Renaissance. Leonardo da Vinci was mostly self-educated, he filled many of his notebooks with amazing inventions and scientific theories. He had an amazing combination of intelligence and imagination, which led him to create, on paper at least, inventions such as the bicycle, the helicopter, and a design for an airplane. Leonardo da Vinci was a true genius and possibly one of the best minds in history.
Leonardo da Vinci was an Italian artist and mathematician, amount other fields, known for his works “The Last Supper” and “Mona Lisa”. He also excelled in sculpture, architecture, science, music, mathematics, engineering, invention, anatomy, geology, astronomy, botany, writing, history, and cartography.
Leonardo da Vinci was known for many things during his life: Italian artist, painter, sculptor, architect, engineer, and scientist. Da Vinci helped build a base to many different areas in our world today. He worked as an assistant in a workshop even after he had completed his “degree” before opening
Leonardo Da Vinci, also known by his unnecessarily long Italian name, Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci, was probably one of the most well-known Italian figures of the Renaissance. Aside from his many other skilled areas, including but not limited to, a mathematician, engineer, inventor, geologist, writer, anatomist…he was considered to be one of the best painters of his time. Of course like most painters, he had to scale the ladder of success, pun intended, which is where the story will begin.
Da Vinci, made all sorts of contraptions, all we have are his designs, we have tested them for the most part, and have found they are successful. He has helped us realize that thinking outside the box isn’t exactly a bad thing. He’s made all sorts of wonders, and beautiful paintings for which we may never understand. Which is the definition of art. Mystery (not literally.). Mystery drives us, we like to find out things, not just handed to us. Leonardo Da Vinci did just that. He didn’t give us anything but a breathtaking fresh taste of art. And of course his inventions. We couldn’t even find his inventions. Just his drafts/sketches. His anatomy blew our minds. Because he found stuff out that we found out maybe 200-300 years later. Some of his havent even been made yet.
A fun fact about Leonardo Da Vinci is that he was self-taught. He also had dozens of secret notebooks that are filled with Observations, Inventions, and theories he had about pursuits from anatomy to aeronautics. But the rest of the world was just beginning to share knowledge in books made with moveable type, plus the concepts in
This old man is so brilliant, and the world should know his name, Leonardo DA Vinci. Leonardo da Vinci is one of the most well-known and greatest artists in the world. Not only near everyone should heard his hand drawing works, but also they are the priceless treasures that can only collect by the richest man or national museum. Even a piece of hand writing notes can create a numerous price at auction (5). Leonardo da Vinci created thousands of inventions designing in his life. His ideas were created before nearly 3 century, which was a year with limited technology and imperfect knowledge, but some of his ideas are very accurate and can still fully influence today's inventor's inspiration. His hand writing notes are not only world's treasures, but also have great valuable importance to research them. This is absolutely amazing because Leonardo da Vinci has great foresight, and he could come up with those superior ideas that no one around him may fully understand him. Leonardo's drawing skills, creativity and imagination are at the top of
