Have you ever wanted to know who was one of the greatest leaders of time that fought for slavery? Malcolm X was assassinated on February 21, 1965 by a radical member of the Nation of Islam named Talmadge X Hayer. He entered the Audubon Ballroom armed and then killed Malcolm X as he was giving his speech, which would have made this his last one. Talmadge X Hagan thought that Malcolm X was going to destroy the Nation of Islam after he had left, so he then decided to kill Malcolm X. The assassination of Malcolm X left a huge impact on the black community. Malcolm X’s assassination was unjust because he was part of the Nation of Islam and he was a human rights activist; however some people believed his actions were the cause of many people dying. …show more content…

As he was part of the Nation of Islam his plan was to give African American equal rights and for slavery to end. According to Malcolm X : Rights Activist and Nation of Islam Leader, “ Malcolm Little, African American leader and prominent figure in the Nation of Islam who articulated concepts of race pride and black nationalism in the early 1960s” (Robin 37). Malcolm X did many things to help the black community and for them to all get equal rights. He soon did achieve his goal.
Malcolm X was also a human right activist. He made a significant impact in the black rights movement. According to Placing 'The South' in the Geopolitical Thought of Malcolm X, He was an activist that praised race pride and Black Nationalism in America in the 1960s, back in the days where racism towards black was still prominent” (Tyner 23). As a human right activist, Malcolm X wanted for the African Americans to have equal rights, so Malcolm X stood up for what he believed. He began preaching peace for peace by loving all races the same instead of starting a war against another
