The sound of row boats crashing into the eastern coast of what is now the American continents, can only be accredited to the Age of Expansion and a series of events that had encouraged the growth of the European nations in the 16th and 17th centuries. How did the European empires find the New World first when the Chinese were supposed to be the leading economy and political figure on the globe? Did the East fall short? Or was this “Rise of the West” a result of climatical events that happened to influence progress and growth on the European continent? The reason that the European empires reached the New World first is due to the ceasing of the Chinese exploration in the early 15th century, and to the climatical advantages in Europe provided

Throughout all time, women have been denied basic rights men enjoy such as the ability to vote, hold office, travel and own or inherit property. During the Age of Exploration in Europe, King James VI introduced fear of witchcraft to society after experiencing extreme weather during his return trip from Denmark with his soon-to-be wife. At this time, monarchs were believed to be preordained by God. Christianity was the dominant religion in Europe, and witchcraft was blamed on Satan. Since King James had trouble returning home, many believed it was the cause of the devil. The European economic motivation was the main cause of European exploration in the 15th and 16th centuries. New trade, and the search for gold and spices were the three main motives behind Europe’s thirst for exploration and discovery. Trade with Asia and Africa was shrinking, Europe’s gold supply was drained, and spices were growing in demand, forcing Europe to send explorers in search of new resources and trade.
The first effect of the Age of Exploration, was the finding of the New World. The New World provided opportunities for European countries to conquer new lands and to obtain wealth while conquering. After Columbus “found'; the New World, there were European explorers embarking on new journeys there constantly. They would set up new colonies and conquer new lands. From these colonies, they set up trading posts back to their mother countries. Gold, fur, corn, potatoes, tobacco, chocolate, and many other products were brought back to Europe. The wealth from these products could only be imagined. The countries would then trade their imports to other countries and make a huge profit.
Arising out of the “Dark Ages” was the very weak Europe. After taking death tolls from the black death which was devastating to the European population, and also poverty spread around the entirety of Europe, the population felt stuck. The push factors and the causes of European exploration lead to a numerous amount of accomplishments ranging from new colonies/territories to bringing in wealth. If the Europeans had not had some of the push factors the Age like the fall of Constantinople, Columbus discovering the “New World” and economic reasons European Exploration would have never begun, or it would’ve taken many more years.
After, the Black Death outbreak in Europe, many people were dead and a lot of countries populations were split in half leading there to be many more jobs available for the working class. This lead lords to have a high demand for workers allowing the working class to demand higher wages for their work. Another contributing factor would be that many industries started to emerge leading Europe to economic recovery. New industries that developed were printing, mining, metallurgy, and luxury industries such as glass, silk, and hand worked items. All these industries competed with the textile industry and allowed for Europe to have an economic recovery. With the Economic resurgence of Europe it allowed people to focus on the classical works of the Greeks and Romans leading to a rediscovery of that time period. The rediscovery allowed there to be a more humanist society with less focus on religion, people became focused on being the best person possible. They focused on art, music, literature and various other topics allowing for a much happier time in comparison to the dark ages. I find that the statement that
