In William Shakespeare’s, Hamlet, the play revolves around the tragedies of revenge and how it’s a vicious cycle that has no good ending. Hamlet, is shown as a prince of disposition and a logical thinker that keeps his emotions bottled up. Learning of his father death, whom he had great respect, he is told from the ghost of the dead king that there was foul play within his death. Of hearing about this, Hamlet sought to prove the guiltiness of the murder but in this process he seems to lose himself and kill off many people before he gets the culprit. Thus, in his process of finding the culprit guilty he ends up driving his own love, Ophelia, to the brink of insanity.

Each character represents a different kind of emotion within the play but Hamlet himself is a character of all the emotions into one person. How he is depicted is a person who experienced the highest level of grieve and anger. But, at the same time Hamlet did have a caring side to him especially when dealing with Ophelia, even if, his attitude was convoluted from the readers point of view. Hamlet had he his struggle throughout the play one he had to deal with by himself while trying to find out the truth of his father death.
Hamlet is a play of vengeance and despair, which why it’s called a tragedy. In this tragedy, Hamlet is seen as many different elements. A character with a dilemma that leads through many life changing and much character development within the play.
