How Does Shakespeare Use Dramatic Irony In Romeo And Juliet

Satisfactory Essays

Romeo and Juliet William Shakespeare, the author of Romeo and Juliet, came up with a tragic love story. Two people fall in love but they are not allowed to see each other because one is the Capulets and one is the Montagues. They have had a bad past and do not want have anything to do with each other, so the two, man and woman, have to do everything they can to see each other because their love is so strong. This story is all about how love can bring two families together even though they never liked each other. Shakespeare’s play is full of irony: dramatic, situational, and verbal. Dramatic irony is when Mercutio and Benvolio think romeo is still depressed about Rosaline, but the audience knows he is over her and has moved onto Juliet.
