President Truman and the United States are not justified in using the atomic bomb to force Japan into surrender. First of all, this atomic bomb took away the lives of many innocent Japanese people. After the United States was able to take two islands, Okinawa and Iwo Jima, from Japan, an opportunity for invasion opened up. The United States released two bombs into Japan, which were named Little Boy and Fat Man. These bombs had killed about 200,000 people as a result of injuries or radiation poisoning from the bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Emperor Hirohito, terrified from the destruction of the bombs, immediately ordered Japan to surrender.
