Macbeth’s Character Change
Throughout the play Macbeth, written by William Shakespeare, many characters personalities changed. In particular Macbeth’s. Macbeth was humble and kind at the beginning of the play but then somehow towards the end of the play he became a cruel ruler. Lady Macbeth, was the cause of many of these changes, but she is not all to blame. Macbeth became to full of himself and started thinking he was better than everyone. Macbeth went crazy, killing people left and right, including one of his good friends, which just shows how he had changed.

The witches said Macbeth would soon be king. With that thought in his head, he decides that he is going to kill Duncan. So Macbeth invites Duncan to come over for dinner and then stay the night at his castle. As the night is going on Macbeth starts to freak out and decides he's not going to go through with the murder, but Lady Macbeth steps in and starts to diminish his manhood. How Macbeth's Character Changes throughout the Play In this essay I would be looking at Macbeth’s character on how he changes throughout the play and to base this evidence on weather he was a tyrant or a tragic hero. Many factors contribute to the changes to Macbeth throughout the play which cause the character to deteriorate from a man with nobility and good intentions to one who is ruled by ambition and greed.
Macbeth is a well respected, and noble man that is manipulated to believe that he would become king, this leads him to greed and aggressiveness. Early in the story Duncan is told that Macbeth is worthy of his title, but later on is told that he would become king and becomes greedy. So Macbeth kills the king in hopes of him becoming king himself. After Macbeth becomes king the country betrays him and tries to attack the castle but Macbeth thinking that he is invisible decides to stay and fight by himself like a fool. At the begging of the play Macbeth is a well respected thane whose desire for more power and his recognition renders him gullible and easily manipulated despite his aggressive nature.

A man who was once a brave respected soldier with a sensitive side, turned into an evil, murderous tyrant.
