Career Research paper Farm Management Here’s why I picked farm and ranch management for my career. I have always been around cows, tractors and the farm since I was little. I loved going to the farm and riding in the tractor and four-wheeler. I started to grow a passion for farming and it just kept growing and growing and it’s growing so big that I want to turn it into a profession and do it everyday. Being out on the farm and working is so much fun and being around the cows and getting in the barn to get milked and bedding them and feeding the cows everyday is fun but it’s a lot of work. You need to be motivated to work on the farm and do the dirty work to get it all done. You will put in long days and hours during the planting, tilling and harvest season. …show more content…

The three farmers whom this paper has taken a look at are all interesting, they face their own problems, many of which are different, yet so very similar. The film "Farmland" is a phenomenal way to get the story of agriculture out and start eliminating the farming stereotype. "Farmland" is a wonderful film, with a ninety-two percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Whether they are facing the weather, working on their own, or working with bad crops for their animals, they will
The career I chose is a secondary education teacher. More commonly referred to as a highschool teacher. A highschool teacher teaches grades 9th-12th and generally focuses in one subject area. High school teachers help prepare students for life after graduation. They teach academic lessons and various skills that students will need to attend college and to enter the job market (“U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics”). I chose this career because I want to be able to make a difference in young people’s lives and help shape them into good people. “I know that I have a huge impact on my students not just now, but for the rest of their lives,” says Linda Shelly, a high school math teacher in Glendale, arizona. “Seeing them rise to the challenge gives me great pride.” (“Teaching For a Living: Career Outlook”).
During life we encounter a variety of obstacles that we must face. Some important obstacles that we are faced with is when we are deciding on the career path that we wanna take. An obstacle that I might face is when I choose a career and that career is not the right choice. A high five principle that connects to this obstacles is follow your heart. This connects with my obstacle because if you don't, you will never succeed in what you wanted to do as a job and will be miserable getting up every morning and going to work. This is important because if you don't have a job that you like or is not fun, you will be stuck there and be wondering why you still work there. To overcome this obstacle
The career I chose to undertake as my profession is that of a mechanical engineer. Why do I want to become a mechanical engineer? Well, for starters, I would be able to design, build and possibly repair many various machines and other technologies that are complex. These technologies can range from being already in use on a global scale to new, futuristic designs that are highly technical. Also, this career includes being a sort of jack-of-all-trades, where I would possess knowledge in mathematics, physics, etc. Finally, this career offers me the chance to expand outside my immediate area since mechanical engineers are well desired around the globe as well.
The Farmland film is a documentary that is narrated by farmers itself describing the love and passion they had into the farmer’s life. They produce food, (vegetables, cattle, hogs, chickens, and cattle feed) that is a procedure of not always is has a positive outcome. They depend a lot into the state of the soil, machinery, weather, and market to be able to make a profit of their efforts, to be able to start again the next year.
Many see agriculture as growing food and feeding cows, but to me that is only the picture of it. Agriculture is full of men, women, and children, who have learned and are being taught the principle of hard work. By growing crops and raising animals, I have begun to learn and apply that principle.
that would allow me to have a higher income than I would be likely to obtain as a
On the farm the workers did numerous different jobs, from working in the fields to cleaning the bunkhouse. This is a great representation of many places during this time, whereas many people would work outside or in a factory to make a small amount of money. In the novel, the two main characters have been wandering on
Imagine waking up every morning in a different country or state and go to the airport to fly back home and fly somewhere else the next day. Thats a dream of many people in the world that they could experience. Its a dream come true for people that actually get that experience. Everyone would love to leave there job to discover the world, but for pilots discovering the world is part of there job.
In my career research report, I am going to be trying to accomplish some of my goals. I feel like it’s time to start planning for my future and what I want to do with it, so a main goal is to find a suitable career for me. I have already seen some amazing career opportunities for me to think about. Though I really hope I can get at least an A on my research paper and make sure I enjoy the whole process of doing this project.
It has taken years to master the practice of farming, from the raising and selling of cattle,
Throughout my life, I always wondered what my profession would be when I grew up. My first choice was to be a nurse because I love to help people and make sure that they are well taken care of. When I reached high school, my thoughts about nursing tapered off because other careers interested me even more, such as becoming a lawyer. As I began researching more and more about lawyers, I talked to my work based learning teacher at school, and she recommended a part time job at a law firm. I began calling around, and entering my senior year of high school, I received my first job at a law firm. The first days of working at the law firm, I was extremely excited because I thought that I would be one step closer to reaching my goals as an attorney. I had the privilege of seeing what the attorneys did throughout the day, however as my experience in the firm progressed, my interest in becoming an attorney dwindled. I then realized I was back to square one and was extremely discouraged, because I did not know what I wanted to do with my life.
My current career choice is an clinical neuropsychologist. In this position I would assess and diagnose patients, as well as develop treatments plans and aid their rehabilitation. I’ve always had an interest in psychology, but have been contemplating what I might want to specialize in. In this position I would earn a substantial salary and receive the opportunity to work with patients in a hands on matter. This past fall, my other was injured by a hit and run driver. She suffered a large trauma to the brain and had to receive several surgeries. During the time period of her recovery, I began to learn a great deal about traumatic brain injuries. Unfortunately, the extent of my mother’s injuries were too great and she passed away. However, this experience made me very interested in the workings of the brain and effects of these injuries. From this, I’ve been inspired to help others who have suffered injuries similar to my mother.
In the article “The Animals: Practice complexity” By Michael Pollan, he talks about Joel Salatin’s farm and how there’s a certain relationship between the environment and animals while showing the complicity of farming. Pollen explains Saltin’s agriculture practice with farming. Joel Saltin shows how he deals with the “by products” of his farm, and how the animals rely on it. Pollen was intrigued by Satins farm and impressed with his style of raising his farm. Pollan explained why his farm was so successful based on certain aspects that Satin would do that is completely different from other farmers. This was an amazing article to peruse about. Without outside materials based on agriculture, you can still
“You know my name, not my story. You've heard what I've done, but not what I've been through.” Quotes from Jonathan Anthony Burkett. I met my first friend to hang out with when I was eight years old. We played around like other kids everyday which lead me to realize that what people said is not real. Then, puberty changed my life which gave me my first job. Lastly, after having all sorts of experiences in my teenage life, which I found myself in love with the nature of sports, not a specific sport and this became my hobby.
