When you think about a teacher, you automatically think about someone who teaches kids for a living. Being a teacher doesn’t have to be just teaching children on a daily basis. Teachers are the reasons why a lot of children have grown to love learning and appreciate the effort their teacher has put into their education. Teachers are very important in today’s society and they do a lot for everyone. Teachers aren’t just there to make lesson plans, grade papers, and write on black-boards. Teachers are around because they want to give children a proper education.

I want to be a nurse practitioner when I grow up. A nurse practitioner ,or commonly known as NP, can treat and diagnose illnesses and can also conduct lab tests.(“Welcome to Top Master’s In Healthcare Administration”)

Teachers work during the school day, but they also use their personal time (before and after school, and on weekends) to create lesson plans and grade papers. Most teachers do not get another job during the summer. Instead, they teach summer classes and prepare for the next school year.

For me, the decision to become a teacher is more of a way of life than a career. I have always loved school, practicing at being school marm from a young age, and voraciously devouring every shred of education offered me in my career as a student. If it were possible, I would be a student for the rest of my life. And then I still would not have learned enough. As a teacher, I hope to instill this appetite for knowledge in secondary students. They are, after all, the future leaders of the world, and what better place to expand the minds of the generations to come than here in Appalachia where education programs, especially the sciences, which I plan to teach, are poorly funded and children’s dreams

I interviewed Dottie Stephens a high school math teacher who works at Columbus Career and College Academy for Columbus County schools. Mrs. Stephens choose this career because got a divorce and had small kids so she went back to college to get a good job.I asked Mrs. Stephens what a typical workday was like and she told me that as a teacher you plan for the day and run off and last minute papers. When class starts she said she is nonstop because she is teaching, helping students work out problems, making sure the students are on task, and grading papers. After the kids leave for the day she grades the rest of the papers. She also says that you have to take a deep breath, clean up, and get ready for the next day. Some of the education requirements

Becoming a high school teacher had always been the goal. As a young child and growing up with a multitude of siblings, children were my life. The aspiration stemmed from a desire to teach the next generation, to be a leader for the mind and guide them onto the next phase of their lives. I saw my favorite teachers do it with the kind of patience and discipline that only a teacher could have and after job shadowing Scott Hatfield, the social studies and current events teacher at Summit Academy North Muddle School, I realized that I am not fit for that lifestyle like I thought.

In my career research report, I am going to be trying to accomplish some of my goals. I feel like it’s time to start planning for my future and what I want to do with it, so a main goal is to find a suitable career for me. I have already seen some amazing career opportunities for me to think about. Though I really hope I can get at least an A on my research paper and make sure I enjoy the whole process of doing this project.

Throughout my life, I always wondered what my profession would be when I grew up. My first choice was to be a nurse because I love to help people and make sure that they are well taken care of. When I reached high school, my thoughts about nursing tapered off because other careers interested me even more, such as becoming a lawyer. As I began researching more and more about lawyers, I talked to my work based learning teacher at school, and she recommended a part time job at a law firm. I began calling around, and entering my senior year of high school, I received my first job at a law firm. The first days of working at the law firm, I was extremely excited because I thought that I would be one step closer to reaching my goals as an attorney. I had the privilege of seeing what the attorneys did throughout the day, however as my experience in the firm progressed, my interest in becoming an attorney dwindled. I then realized I was back to square one and was extremely discouraged, because I did not know what I wanted to do with my life.

Growing up, I went through the teacher phase, just like every other kid, where I lined up my stuffed animals and had a whiteboard in the front of the room. I eventually did move past that stage of childhood ambitions and moved on to things I thought were bigger and better. However, as I grow older I find myself going back to teaching as a serious career option, especially in a high school setting. I grew up in a family of teachers, all four of my grandparents and my mom worked as a teacher at some point in their life. I feel like teaching would give me an opportunity to impact many lives and see a lot of kids do some wonderful things. High school teachers not only get to help students learn, as do elementary teachers, but get to help them move onto their next stages of life. I believe if I only get to help one student do something great, all the work and efforts will be worth it. All the hours of grading papers, planning lessons, and dealing with 120 different teenagers throughout the day will have meant something after all.

Teacher will usually have up to 15-20 students in a class on average; so when you have 7 classes to teach a day that is 105-140 students you have to worry about. It’s pretty hard keeping yourself

           An early education teacher gains a lot of big responsibility. One classroom occupies about 25 children per teacher and that means 25 parents place that teacher responsible for each and every one of their children. Also, teachers endure other responsibilities that some people do not think of like grading test or papers, supervising recess, creating lesson plans, and attending in-service training or meeting. Teachers need to watch what they do and say all the time because they are role models for everyone and everywhere they go. Teachers need good communication skills, because they need to make sure the parents stay involved as much as possible. They also need to know how to listen to others no matter what age they are. Reason and problem solving is another area teachers have to be good at because they need to think under pressure fast when things go wrong. Time and managing themselves remains very important, because it teaches the children how to manage their time and help the schedule run smoothly. Elementary teachers play an important part in the intellectual development as well as the social development of their students. The education of young children can affect the way they view themselves, other people, and the world, and their success throughout life. Usually, one elementary teacher will teach several subjects to one class, of about 20 students. Teachers are faced with the responsibility of nurturing their students as well as their education. In the early years of elementary school, teachers introduce their students to the concepts of reading, writing, and counting. In the later years of elementary, teachers have the task of introducing the concepts of mathematics, language, science, and social studies. Teachers also have multiple behind-the-scenes duties. Teachers have the duty of creating daily
