I forgot to include two-steps of instruction which would enhance the writer in writing a Moth story. The step one I should include the beginning, middle, and end because all stories should have those parts. The beginning is how the tune of the story sets up and the plot what is talking about. The middle of the story is the climax or the meat what is going to happen to the characters. The ending is how the story ends or how the character resolve. Another step I can add which is pinpoint your turn lifetime or key time. Sometimes we when writing we do not know what direction to start so using the key time of your life will help get you the hump. Maybe your key time can be starting school or even finding your first job.

When we were given the final assignment’s instructions, I was very confused by it. I did not understand what were we supposed to do and how to do it. I had an idea on mind, however after talking to Professor McNair, I understood what the assignment was and I realized that I needed a new pitch for the final project. The task was to create a short 30 seconds story with no dialogue, which had a beginning, middle and end. In addition, the story needed to have a motive for action. The character was to move within the frame but with a purpose. This is the most important part of the project because it leads to everything else. After thinking about this assignment over and over, one day I finally got a divine insight. I realized that I needed to do something simple that several people could relate to.
In the book “ In the Time of the Butterflies,” the author describes the lives of four revolutionary sisters in the Dominican Republic. These sisters were Dede, Patria, Maria Teresa, and Minerva Mirabal. Minerva was the one who stood out the most to me. The passion she had and showed made her sound like a sacrificial leader. Minerva was the type to stand up for what she believed in. Rafael Trujillo was the leader of the Dominican Republic, whatever he say or want to be changed it changes. He was a brutal dictator. Minerva showed him that she is brave and strong. In the book she stated “ I was the one always standing up to him”. When she needed his help she buttered him up into making a deal with her. The Mirabal sisters will always be a
1 The chapter begins by revealing that Ladybug, Chat Noir, and Hawk Moth are chasing a criminal down an alleyway.
“The Moths” by Helena Maria Viramontes is a fictional short story about the narrator’s personal hardship of watching her grandmother die slowly because of natural causes. Although, the name of this story is “The Moths” don’t let this fool you. In this story, references to moths are only used twice. Using the moths, the author is able to convey a theme, help create the tone, and resolve the central conflict. I believe that the moths are actually being used in this story to symbolize some sort of healing and relief. In the following paragraphs, I would like to defend my claim and also show you examples of how Mrs. Viramontes utilizes the moths for many different elements in this story.
The Peppered Moths Model in NetLogo stimulates a classic example of natural selection that involves the changes of colors in the peppered moth population of Manchester, England during the 1800s. One important aspect of this model is the plot feature which graphs the number of light, medium, and dark color moths, and the pollution rate over a period of time. While the monitor widgets can also track these information at real time, the plot allows us to view past information that were collected, not just the current data. Another interesting thing about the plot is that it works by using several “pen update commands” which execute the global variables (light, medium, dark color moths, and population) that were already created in the code section
For this role-play, my role was P. Smith, a representative for XYZ Chemical Company, an international firm that specializes in making pesticides. I am told by representatives of the company around the world that a break out of the Bogog Moth in eminent. This moth is a pest, which can eat through entire forests within days. It was previously thought that the Bogog moths were under control with them nearing extinction, however they have surfaced again and are a real threat to forests. The drawbacks of the forests being destroyed are that massive soil erosion will occur, as well as the loss of water resources. The only way to stop the outbreak of these Bogog moths is to spray them with a pesticide that is made only by the company that I work for (XYZ Chemical Company). One of the key ingredients used in this pesticide, is the egg shell of the Darwin fresh-water crocodile. These fresh-water crocodiles are a protected species and they lay their eggs
Pollinator common name: Commonly known as Blackburn’s Sphinx Moth, Hawaiian Tobacco Hornworm, and Hawaiian Tomato Hornworm. It is related to the Tomato Hornworm (M. quinquemaculata) however, it is a separate species (Wikipedia).
The decline of Typica moths, and an increase of Carbonaria moths was due to the pollutions levels in England rising. When the pollution settles vegetation turns darker.
The Biology of the Clothing Moth. Eggs hatch into larvae, which then begin to feed. Once they get their fill, they pupate and undergo metamorphosis to emerge as adults. Adults do not eat: male adults look for females and adult females look for places to lay eggs. Once their job is done, they die.
In ¨Moth Flight's Vision¨ by Erin Hunter, Moth Flight's devotion and consideration contributes to the theme of the novel, Moth Flight had to convince all the clans about Starclan and letting healers into the clans.
Life is a constant struggle against the ever present chill of death. Fear, betrayal, and cowardice all stems from life’s distaste of death. Human beings naturally rebuke the unknown, so it is only logical that people fight the inevitability of death. However, most people are ignorant of the reality of one day dying, prompting writer Virginia Woolf to write the essay, “The Death of the Moth”, in order to convey the frailty of life whilst also showing the awesome might of death. In the essay, her main purpose is to show that the moth embodies the human race, and that death is an inevitable fact of life no matter how much the human race struggles to stay alive. Woolf is able to get her purpose across by
The Argentine cactus moth, Cactoblastis cactorum Berg (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) was first discovered in the United States in 1989 and has now become a major threat to ~31 species of Opuntia cactus, nine of which are endemic and six of which have been designated as rare or endangered. Since the initial finding of C. cactorum in Florida, the moth has spread along the Gulf and Atlantic Coasts and now occurs as far west as Louisiana and as far north as North Carolina. Following the termination of the sterile insect technique (SIT) in 2012, the efforts to control the spread of the cactus moth have focused on population management through classical biological control. Apanteles opuntiarum Martínez & Berta (Hymenoptera: Braconidae), the parasitoid
In the short story “The Moths” by Helena Maria Viramontes, the author uses symbolism and characterization to paint the scene of a girl in a literary fiction that has lost her way and ends up finding herself within her Grandmother through the cycles of life. Through the eyes of an unnamed girl we relive a past that has both a traumatic ending and a new leash on life; however, we do not get there without first being shown the way, enter “The Moths”.
Another huge element in good writing is production. You can be interesting, you can sound great, but if your story is just not headed anywhere the reader will eventually lose focus and move on. Even if you have many details surrounding your story, try to focus in on the ones that play key roles. A lot of readers talk about how something happened more then why. I like to hear the reasons for why rather then for how because if you already know the climax of the story you really wouldn't wanna track your steps back, though informing the reader why can actually spice things up.
