At the end of your life, how would you most like to be remembered?
Support your response with reasons and examples. It is undeniable that memory has always played the main role in almost people’s lives. There is a question exists on how I would like to be remembered when I died. In my opinion, the answer of this question is a good person, I want others to remember me as one of a person who prefer to help other people and don’t exploit or cheat others. I will support my point of view and shall propose my own conclusion.
One of the main reasons supporting this idea is result that shall be followed, helping others might make other people help you or even your family. For example, if you always help other people when you are alive, when you
Why should students help pick up fellow classmate's books that he or she dropped? Why should people give to the homeless? Why should humans become organ donors? Altruism is defined as a person's ability to go out of their way to enhance the welfare of someone else without anything in return. But it's not the "what" of altruism that is intriguing, it's the "why" that is truly fascinating. Scientist and researches may never pinpoint what makes humans exhibit altruistic behavior, but there is one thing that scientist and researches are sure about. Altruism plays an important role in running society, and the world can use more of it.
4. Altruism - opportunity to rise out of oneself and help somebody else; the feeling of usefulness. Altruism was discussed in Step 12.
Imagine the impact of helping someone when they need it. When you help someone, it can make someone’s day, or make them want to help someone else, including you. Because of this, not only you feel better but others will want to help you to. Characters who help someone will receive a benefit, even if they do not know it at the start. In the novel, The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho, Santiago learns, “When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better, too.” First, good came after bad. Next, Santiago helps people who eventually help him. Last, important lessons make Santiago become a better person.
People don’t help others people unless it benefits them. An example of this is in the article “The Dying Girl That No One Helped”, when 38 or more people saw the girl dying but not a single person stopped and went outside to help. No one even picked up a phone and called the police until she was already dead. Lieutenant Jacobs said that most people “just don’t want to get involved”(Wainwright). An example that most people can relate to in their life is when something happens, such as a fight, or any other type of argument between people. Most of the time no one will help to break up the fight, they would rather stand by and watch. These examples show that people don’t want to get involved in something that doesn’t benefit them to help. People will only help when it benefits them to help, or hurts them to not help.
What became evident in my life, were the snowball effect consequences that come with making good or bad choices. Due to this, I arrived to the realization that helping others is principal for all to do. In my opinion, helping others is like guiding and counseling them consciously like a counselor. When family would support me with a difficult situation, I was advised and able to transcend. Everyone will
And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them.” this is a quote by the Dalai Lama and it is very true. Doing something good by helping people is a chain reaction, because if I help one person by doing something, then they might be impacted and they could pass it on by doing something nice too. That could make the world a much better place, by spreading happiness and helpfulness one person at a time.
Helping others doesn’t have to be difficult. We know money is an issue throughout life and we can’t just provide everyone with money. But what can that money actually do? Money is traded in for goods and services right, so in theory, we don’t need money to help others, the question is more like what can we do for another. There is always one job out there that can improve our lives; we don’t have to be millionaires to contribute; we just have to try.
Altruism is a concept in which the individual sacrifices regard for themselves in the interest of another. The ethics of altruism state that a person should act in a matter where their self-sacrifice yields the greater well being on the whole. To put that statement in the form of a fundamental principle of rightness, an action is right if and only if (and because) the action brings a net-gain of well being to anyone except the individual performing the action. The altruistic mentality of an individual according to this moral theory means that any action that they undertake should be in the interest of others rather than themselves. The ethics of this concept also state that relationships of greater value to the individual carrying out an action should come second in priority to those they have with strangers since the close relationship has a much more meaningful connection to a person’s life. In these situations, the only morally correct way of acting is in the way that defeats the well being of the agent of an action for the sake of others.
If we do not expect nothing in return except for our fellow man to have what he needs to make it in life, we will in turn receive more productive members of society, we will receive less starving, freezing, lonely people on the streets, and we will receive compassion if we ever end up there too.
I would like to be remembered as a person that never cared about what other people thought or the things I like and I would like to be remembered as a loving caring person that would give anything to help other people. hopefully I would become a veterinarian that cared so much about animals
How do you want to be remembered? This is something said on many occasions, I’m even willing to bet it is said during 90 percent of high school and college commencement speeches. It’s said because it’s important and it’s important because a legacy leaves a mark on others. Thinking back to that one specific person in your life that really made a positive impact on you can sometimes be tough. Throughout our lives we have so many people that influence us in someway. We remember them because of their character and actions, sometimes we remember the good and sometime we remember the bad. One particular person that left a positive impact on me was my first Squad Leader, SGT Delapaz. He has influenced me through his duties as a squad
As Maverik was writing this he was thinking about how he wanted to go down remembered and this is what he came up with he wanted to be remembered as a fun, nice and loved person. He said I don't want to die grumpy I want to live happy and die with a full heart. I want people to say he was fun did everything with us, was nice, and always lending a helping hand and a smiling face. That is how all of us remember Maverik the best friend father and leader any of us
After reading Harper Lee’s eulogy, and taking in the themes presented in it, I’ve considered on what it is I want to be remembered by. After all, memory is what lives on after someone dies. To quote the artist Banksy, “I mean, they say you die twice. One time when you stop breathing and a second time, a bit later on, when somebody says your name for the last time.” If the memory of someone is what lasts past their lifespan, it is then one of the most important aspects of living. What I hope to be remembered for, is that I was intelligent, helpful and kind, and that I defied stereotypes.
There are many ways that I want to be remembered and many lives that I hope to affect in my life. There are also many goals I have that I hope I accomplish during my lifetime. Many people leave a legacy, which is a way that someone is remembered.
First, it is important to understand what altruism is. Altruism is any act carried out by an individual in order to benefit another individual. [1, 2] At first glance,
