The Eshelman Building was built in 1872 in Clarence New York. It is currently located in its same position as 150 years ago where what is currently called the four corners. The builders of this piece of history are John and Jacob Eshelman and after that point their nephew, Andrew Eshelman took over. The building is 3 stories and each one had its own purpose. The first floor was the store and they sold clothing to hardware. The second floor was a 3,000 square floor apartment, or bed and breakfast where some political figures stayed during elections. There was an interior fire in the 1900s but luckily the beautiful exterior stayed intact for all of us to see today. The third floor was used as a stage for theater and entertainment and was
Do you have a favorite tourist attraction? Personally mine would be Gatlinburg Tennessee. Although Gatlinburg is a long trip, there is just so many different exciting things to do. Gatlinburg is a great place to go to Cades Cove, go to Dolly World, and also go to The Comedy Barn.

“Cathedral” written by Raymond Carver is a short story that unfolds as a first-person narrative of the main character named Bub. The story beautifully depicts the process of an individual who transforms from a person with lack of knowledge and ignorant towards knowledgeable soul, due to an encounter with his wife’s blind friend Robert, to an individual that is enlightened. The cathedral, in this story, is a mere subject brought up at the end of this story which becomes the object of Bub's enlightenment. “Cathedral,” tells a tale of Bub who through a blind man receives an eye-opening experience. The narrator starts off as intolerable, but towards the end of the story, with the assistance of a blind man makes him open-minded. Bub is clobbered and drives him to the epiphany of, how he views Robert mirrors how views his life. His epiphany is shown through the author's by the narrator’s jealousy, the consumption of alcohol, food, cannabis, and Bub’s wife falling asleep; which shows the narrator’s preconceived notations, the connection formed between Bub and Robert, and how out of obliviousness Bub gained insight.

In Raymond Carver’s story, “Cathedral,” we meet the nameless protagonist who is about to meet an old friend of his wife’s. The friend’s name is Robert and he is blind. In the beginning of the story, the narrator is uncomfortable with the idea of having someone with a disability, like Robert’s, in his home. He makes judgments about Robert and assumes that he is going to be like the blind people he has seen in the movies. We also learn the background information about how hife wife and Robert met and became friends. This story is a metaphor for not making blind judgements off of people before you get to know them.
If I had a ticket in my hand i would fly to Cork, Ireland. Why? Castlehyde is widely renowned as one of the finest structural restorations of a historic Irish home.It is also where one of my great great uncles in the late 16th century was given twelve thousand acres and 10 castles. He was given them by Queen Victoria II for raising an army against the Spanish Armada. Castle Hyde was the largest of all the castle and all ten are located on the twelve thousand acres. Castle Hyde was also the ancestral home of Ireland’s first president, Douglas Hyde. The current owner of the castle is Michael Flatley, an accomplished boxer, step dancer, choreographer, musician and, more recently, acclaimed artist. Upon ruins when first purchased, Flatley decided
The Hillel house is a place for Jewish students to find an ethnic community they relate comfortably with and find religious sanctuary. Found on 15 campuses in North Carolina, Hillel is home to Jewish services and events in which Shabbat service and dinner was held on Friday, March 23rd, 2o18. Shabbat is a traditional day of rest that starts Friday evening and ends Saturday at the same time, which is similar to how Christians view Sunday. Very dissimilar to Sunday service, however, was the lack of a sermon with the prayers. Shabbat seems to allow for your own interpretation of the prayers and a time to rejoice in the company of others for God over Shabbat dinner. My time at the Shabbat service and dinner at Hillel revealed common characteristics
The city of Calgary is incredibly beautiful and Calgary business is booming. Much of the city is surrounded by rolling foothills and prairie. It is the largest city within the province of Alberta and is the fifth largest in terms of population in Canada. Traveling to the Buckner building is a journey all on its own. Starting out by driving through that 2-and-a-half-mile-long tunnel, the one carved into a mountain. Your heart will be pounding a little bit faster. Signs warning you of possible avalanches. As you are exiting the tunnel, entering into Whittier all your eyes can focus on is the massive concreate building in shambles, known as the Buckner Building, standing in back of the town like the ghost of an old warrior. Its lack of attention to the building is truly what will catch your eye. The looks of this building are defiantly eerie, but stepping into the building was nothing short of uncomfortable. From the wind
Clarence Hudson White was born a son of a grocery salesman in 1871. Later becoming a bookkeeper for the same company his father worked for, White spent his early life in Newark, Ohio. White had many hobbies from a young ae including reading, painting, and music. It was not until the age of 23 that he began to take up photography as a hobby much to his parent’s disapproval. Later on in his career, Clarence Hudson White would be described as “the one who may be considered the archetypal Pictorialist photographer of the United States” by photo historian Naomi Rosenblum.
If you are looking for an amazing vacation destination, Toronto is the place you should look at. This city in southernmost Canada is full of family friendly attractions. Places like these include the CN Tower, the SkyDome, home of the Toronto Blue Jays, and the ACC(Air Canada Centre), home of the Toronto Maple Leafs, the laughingstock of the NHL. Another activity in this city is going to one of the many different luxurious, well maintained beaches on one of the famous Great Lakes, the closest one being Lake Ontario. The rest of Canada and Toronto has a relationship that can only be described as a love-hate relationship, or a sibling relationship. Residents of the city are generally nice, and most have a slight Canadian accent.
There is a chapel that stands on top of a beautiful mountain called Chandler Mountain in the midst of a vibrantly colored forest. Standing silent and gorgeous, the chapel takes in campers and counselors at Camp Sumatanga, brides and grooms, wedding goers, and the list continues. Jutting out from the earth below the chapel, its large, majestic stones forming the beauty that is the open shelter. Thousands of feet have, at some point, touched the rock floor of the chapel. Through its majesty, beauty, and inspirational qualities, this chapel has inspired me in ways a lot of people cannot understand.
