HUNTING IN AMERICA FUELING THE GREAT OUTDOORS Hunting is one of America's oldest traditions since the first colonists landed in America access to land and game have only been restricted when nescessary. As times have changed, more land bought, and made exclusively private a need arose to help preserve wildlife resource for general public, through that need and the efforts of hunter to preserve that access to everyone several legislative actions have been taken to generate money to fund these efforts. On the national level the first legislation aimed towards collection of taxes from hunting to fuel conservation and wild life management was the The Pittman-Robertson Wildlife Restoration Act of 1937. States have the most important stake in funding conservation and wildlife management through the use of hunting license and game tags. The decline in interest of hunting is also being felt throughout states as tax revenues from the sales of hunting licenses and game tags are

It recognized the need for funding to help wildlife restoration. The program levies a 10% tax on the whole sale price of all pistols or revolvers and a 11% tax on the whole sale price of any other firearms to include ammunition and archery equipment. The model was so well like that a second program the Dingell-Johnson Sport Fish Restoration programs was put into place for the support of sport fishing. Those taxes are collected and deposited into the wildlife restoration fund. According to a news release by the US Fish & Wildlife Service, 1.1 Billion dollars was collected through these excise taxs to be distributed throughout the 50 states (Targets News
Food. Clothing. Conservation. Entertainment. All valid reasons to hunt that have evolved greatly over the years. Hunting has served a tremendous role in the progress of man. Without hunting, people would still be living in caves and strictly eating plants. Starting in prehistoric times, hunting has been a crucial activity practiced by Native Americans and other early Americans while steadily transforming into the large hobby that it is today.
Hunting allows a person to reconnect with nature. For many, hunting isn’t just about the chase and the thrill of catching their game. For many, hunting
Through strictly regulated hunting we have reintroduced and repopulated various game species into areas where they were previously wiped out due to extremely excessive hunting by settlers. In the early 1900s all of Indiana’s whitetail deer were virtually extinct. By the 1930s whitetail deer were beginning to be reintroduced into Indiana. In just 20 years after initial reintroduction the population was at a sustainable level so that regulated modern hunting programs could begin. Conservationism has been a necessity to the ecology of the United States and many other countries around the world. The U.S. Forest Service by itself manages 193 million acres of public land nationwide or roughly 8% of the total land in the United States. The management of this land would not be feasible without the funding hunters provide through licenses, tags, and stamps. The 193 million acres does not include any public recreational land on the state level. There is 2,260,380 acres of public hunting land in all the states
Hunting has become a staple of American traditions since the beginning of the first hunter/gatherers, to the Native Americans who have lived in the U.S for millennia, even all the way until present day. Much of today’s society looks at hunting as a cruel activity when in reality it has more of a positive effect on the environment than it does harm. There are an abundance of benefits that come from hunting. Some of the benefits of hunting are: it is the biggest contribution to conserving wildlife, the meat is healthier than commercially produced meat, many jobs are being supported out of hunting, and every hunter wants “to bag” the trophy animal; however, there are a few cons to this, which include poaching and interference by the activist
Waking up before the rising sun on the morning of the hunt left me feeling groggy with my eyes slow to open and close when blinking. Being extra quiet to not wake up my mother was a main challenge, trying to tippy toe around the cabin and dodging the creaky spots in the floor. Prior to eating breakfast, I began getting dressed. Due to the fact that I was in northern Minnesota, the weather was bone chilling and the wind would seep right through your layers onto your unexpecting skin. Once I had put on my long johns, sweatpants, and long sleeve shirt with a tee shirt on top I began to make my breakfast. I had decided to have scrambled eggs that were cooked to perfection with the yolk golden mixed in with the pure snow white egg white and flakes of pepper sprinkled throughout and toast with butter melted onto the crunchy outside making it soft with homemade strawberry jam spread thick on top.
Big game hunting is a very common hobby in the United States and especially in South Dakota. There are many different types of Big Game in South Dakota. The types of Big Game include: Antelope, Bighorn Sheep, Elk, Mountain Goat, Mountain Lion, Turkey, and Deer (Hunting). The main attraction in the State is deer because they are found in every part of the state.

60% of all firearms in the world is used in protection against crime. Therefore the 2nd amendment should not be infringed.
Hunting has been around before basic civilization had even existed, ours ancestors were the ones who started hunting to survive. Men were taught a way of living by baiting species for daily nutrition, warm clothing, and population aspects on earth. As the growth of civilization evolved and new weapons, including archery tools, rifles, and firearms were created. However some hunters wanted to target massive terrene mammals.
A hunter needs to have a valid hunting license and tag for the species of game they wish to hunt. Once he chooses the game he wishes to hunt, he can go to the local sporting goods store and buy his respective tags and license. Licenses and tags vary in cost from state to state, depending on the game population in that state. “Through license sales and excise taxes on equipment, hunters pay for most wild life conservation programs. Hunters and shooters have paid more than $5 billion in excise taxes since 1939.” (“Hunting Facts” 1). To get a license hunters
If you want to improve your chances of going home with a trophy deer, you definitely want to hunt on leased land. Studies show that approximately 80% of hunters choose leased land, spending more than $600 million every year for the privilege. However, to hunt on private land, a legal contract must be established between the landowner and the hunter. That way, all the rules are laid out so there are no surprises or misunderstandings, this is where a deer hunting lease comes into play.
The Endangered Species Act (ESA) was enacted in 1973 to show that species have “ecological, educational, historical, recreational, and scientific value”. This congressional enactment wanted to protect endangered species from the effects of major economic development which typically put them to the wayside. However, the good intentions of the ESA were, it caused a plethora of controversy that still makes it a heated topic today. The main reason of the controversy trickles down from the economic aspects of the act that tend to be overlooked which causes it to be hard to enact in certain circumstances. To make the ESA more effective for both humans and the endangered species the economic implications of protecting these species must be addressed. The three major factors that influence this are economic circumstances of an area, scarcity, and incentives.
All hunting in the United States of America charge the same hunting restrictions. So people do not over kill or they become extinct. It would be unfair to let people run and shoot any animal as much as they want. In Texas hunting restrictions are good so we do not over kill and it controls population, which is good for the environment.
"Encouragement of a proper hunting spirit, a proper love of sport, instead of being incompatible with a love of nature and wild things, offers the best guaranty for the preservation of wild things," said Theodore Roosevelt. Many people say that hunting should be discouraged, and that it is no good for the environment or the animals. Hunters and organizations affiliated with the act of hunting are the leading supporters for wildlife management and conservation. Hunting in society should be encouraged rather that discouraged because it is natural, supports wildlife, connects us to nature, and not unlawful.
