Three Songs There are three songs that I believe go along with We Were Liars by E. Lockhart. One song is All My Loving by The Beatles, because for all the love that were hallucinations that Cadence had during the story for Gat. A second song that I think goes with the story is Medicine by The 1975, because once Cadence learned the truth of the accident, all her migraines, aches, and hallucinations disappeared. The last song I think corresponds with the story is The Beach from The Neighbourhood, because i think it describes how Cadence feels towards the end of the story. I think the song All My Loving by The Beatles goes with the story with the hallucinations that she has of Gat. The first line of the song is “Close your eyes and I’ll kiss you Tomorrow I’ll miss you Remember I’ll always be true” which I believe matches with the feeling that Cadence gets in the end of the story. The part of the song that she feels that’s a burden is “Now I need your help with everything that I do, I don’t want to lie, I’ve relying on you.” Cadence asked her mother to tell her what happened the night of the accident and relies on her mother for going through the day. For the pain the lyrics are “I can admit, I’m not fireproof, I feel it burning me, I feel it burning you.” When really the accident was a fire that took the life of her cousins and family dogs, so that part of the song is when Cadence starts to remember parts of the accident, but not the whole thing. Throughout the song the singer has a feeling that he’s hoping that he doesn’t hurt his loved one and I think I can match that part to when Cadence realizes that all her loved ones are gone because of what she did. One specific part of the song is “I hope I don’t murder me, I don’t burden you” when in the end she kills them and burdens her
