7 Why Lisa Kelly Got Into Ice Road Trucking
Believe it or not, one of Lisa Kelly’s first jobs was delivering pizza as a teenager. She says it was this job that made her realise that she didn’t want a career that involved going into an office every day. She wanted to be out and about. “Delivering pizza, I could drive around town,” she said, describing why she felt attracted to the job. Then after a while she slowly realised that she wanted to drive a truck so she signed on with a school bus company that paid for her training. She drove a school bus for a year but says it was tough to be a professional driver and a babysit 40 kids at the same time. “I couldn’t wait ’til my freight didn’t scream anymore,” she said. Well, she has certainly come a long way since then.

But how did he get this nickname? Did he get into a tousle with a polar bear at one stage during his journeys perhaps? That would be quite a story but sadly that’s not the case at all. It seems that back in 80’s a few of Hugh’s friends saw the words branded on a truck and decided that it fit his personality perfectly. He obviously didn’t mind and the nickname stuck. According to Hugh he likes to think that the name “Polar Bear” refers to his bear-like stamina and attitude towards the dangerous ice roads and the high number of loads he always manages to deliver. Whatever the reason we agree that this name suits him down to the
With his arctic home melting away, this majestic-yet-adorable, pathos-stirring polar bear mascot begins his journey. We first see him stranded on a sheet of ice. The glaciers are melting; chunks are falling into the ocean. The camera pans backward as our bear begins to swim for it, and as he swims we are shown the vastness, the beauty, and the solitude of his home, as well as the confusion and alarm this bear must be feeling. Polar bear fans are in awe. Animal activists are glued. Nature-lovers and environmentalists are captivated. Nissan successfully reaches its target audience with a simple melody and stunning scenes.
To place a reader in the mind of a character, the author must create a scenario which will appeal to the senses, and keep readers intrigued. The technique of building imagery can successfully transform the world around the reader, and connect them to the story. One Mile of Ice by Hugh Garner uses many imagery-building techniques to place readers in the mind of a man on the verge of death. In this story, Hugh Garner tells the tale of two brother-in-laws, Ralph and Pete, who venture off into town, accompanied by mare and sleigh, to get presents for the children for Christmas. However, their journey takes a very dark turn not too far into their adventure. The crisp winds become a blinding storm, in which Ralph and Pete are forced to fight for their lives. Unfortunately, only one man survives - Pete. One Mile of Ice uses visual components to build imagery, as well as tactile techniques to throw readers into the mind of the protagonist. Alongside this, the author uses auditory traits to reproduce the true terror experienced in this story by these brother-in-laws.
Country road has always been one of Australia leading premium stockists of apparel and home wares. Country Road began as a small manufacturer but expanded and diversified to become a leading wholesaler/retailer of apparel and home wares in the Australian market. The great success of this fueled the company into an expansionary strategy into the lucrative yet highly competitive US markets and also further along the way into the Asian markets. The strategy of international expansion into Asia had involved alternative strategies instead of the aggressive strategy into US. Such strategies included strategic partnerships and franchising agreements. Country Road was successful at first with its defined higher quality products and
Imagine a world with no trees, no healthy grass, no glaciers, or no living creatures at all. The cause of this tragedy could be the increase in heat in the Earth’s atmosphere due to global warming. If global warming continues to increase, the world will be left empty. The Earth has been around for a long time, and many feet have walked on it, but no one has walked on this Earth without trees, grass, or creatures. With global warming, the Earth’s meteorology gets too warm, and all of the glaciers will start to melt. Global warming occurs when an increase in the carbon dioxide levels causes the temperature of the Earth’s atmosphere to rise. The Earth’s meteorology is often a subject explored in literature. For example, “Chronicles of Ice” talks

(Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration)” Programs like this exist to help make the roads as safe as possible for everyone. Without these programs there would be hundreds of careless and unsafe drivers on the road. In closing, many programs have been setup to keep all other drivers and the company’s materials safe.

Typically the drivers that we see on IRT all have experience in trucking, most of them have been doing it for years and years before the make the decision to take on the ice roads. Some fans feel that IRT may have influenced this decision in order to get some “eye candy” on the show but so far Steph is proving that she has what it

The polar bear, the largest land carnivore in North America, one of the largest animals in the world and a favorite at zoos worldwide, has, over the years, adapted to its harsh Arctic environment. The appropriately named ‘ursus maritimum’ or sea bear usually lives between 15 and 18 years in the wild and spends most of its life on ice. It is the most recent of the eight bear species. The first polar bear was a brown bear subspecies, with brown bear dimensions and brown bear teeth. The polar bear evolution was rapid due to the small population and extreme pressure to survive. Even today, the polar bear continues to evolve to better adapt to the harsh realities of Arctic life.

In some regions of Canada, there are more than 50℃ differences between summer and winter. Southern Ontario has a humid continental climate which presents four distinct seasons. From previous decade’s records, the temperature in summer can rise higher than 25 °C. In winter, temperature can drop below -30 °C (South Ontario, 2015).
