Donald Trump V.S. United States Economy
President-Elect Donald Trump will enter office January 20, 2017. He has many great plans and ideas on how to improve the United States economy drastically. Many economists have argued on how Trump’s plan will improve the United States, but can do some damage to the U.S. Currently, the United States is in twenty trillion dollars in debt. The main question is: Is Trump the right man for the job? Today, the focus would be on how Donald J. Trump’s plan can revamp the United States economy and what effect will it do overall. Donald Trump’s plan focal point is on cutting taxes and how that will result in many benefits towards the economy. “The president-elect has said he can get the economy to grow nearly

First, he wants to “appoint the toughest and smallest trade negotiators to fight on behalf of American workers.(Fernandez 1). Mr. Trump wants to understand and see where the American workers’ jobs are going. Furthermore, he wants to note why millions of Americans don’t have jobs and who are taking them away. To do that he has to first renegotiate NAFTA or get rid of it (Fernandez 2).What is NAFTA and what mess it is creating? Basically, a trade agreement between the USA, Mexico and Canada formed by Bill Clinton, and it has let many Americans without jobs because most of them have gone to Mexico. That is the main reason Donald J. Trump hates this agreement and how it has destroyed the United States economy to bits and pieces. Additionally, what makes Trump fierce is that China has been stealing American trade secrets for many years. He clearly stated, “If China does not stop its illegal activities, including its theft of American trade secrets, I will use every lawful presidential power to remedy trade disputes, including the application of tariffs consistent with Section 201 and 301 of the Trade Act of 1974 and Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962” (Fernandez 3). Clearly, this shows that Trump is serious about his job and doesn’t care if he is dealing with China. China has been stealing all our trade secrets and Barack Obama didn’t do anything about it. In brief, this clearly shows that our future President has the characteristics and personality of a true leader that is ready for this great battle.
Our economy has gone down hill since Barack Obama stepped into office in the year of 2008. Our newly elected president, Donald J. Trump, has shown through his economic plan that he will bring back jobs and cut taxes drastically for everyone. In all, these major changes towards our economy will make America great
He wants to cut back on military use of ground troops and also to seal the border with Mexico, how does he think to get it done what will congress do to help or will they make it more difficult for Donald Trump. Donald Trump has made 76 promises to the public. Donald Trump also what to get rid of numerous health plans and other project that would help the American people out. How does Mexico feel about Donald Trump's plan do they agree with sealing the border between the US and Mexico. Do we know for sure that Donald Trump can keep his promise about making Mexico pay for the building of the wall. Also has Donald Trump stop to think what that might do to the relationship between the US and Mexico. In all Donald Trump has countless plans that may do some good for our country and may also be bad as well. There are many good points that Donald Trump has point out but how will that affect our counrty relationship with other countries. His plans may cause our country to become great again or it may affect use in way’s that will not have people happy. So what will be the Cause and Effects of Donald Trump winning the Presidential
Donald Trump wants Mexico to pay for a wall at the border which will reduce crime and lower taxes. He wants an end to birthright citizenship and the mandatory detention of undocumented immigrants. He wants American workers to be put first.
Trump plans on boosting the american economy by reforming policies with a pro-growth tax plan, introducing a new modern regulatory framework, passing an America-First trade policy, and introducing “penny plan”, which is a budget goal that Trump wants so he can help decrease government spending everything except
Mr. Future president Donald Trump will make thousands of jobs for real Americans. Donald said in a recent press conference “I'm going to bring jobs back from China, Mexico, Japan, Vietnam. They are taking our Jobs” If he brings all of the jobs to America then the unemployment rate will be almost zero we will have more jobs than we can fill. For the first time in years people won't have to sell drugs on the street corners or sell themselves off as sex slaves, they can go out and be successful people of society.
The main goal of the plan is to bring fairness to our trade with China. Under the Trump administration, trade will flourish but it must also be fair trade. Its Great Wall of Protectionism uses unlawful tariff and nontariff barriers to keep American companies out of China and to tilt the playing field in their favor. The trade plan will include declaring China a currency manipulator, stopping China’s intellectual property violations, and reclaiming millions of American jobs and reviving American manufacturing by putting an end to China’s illegal export subsidies and lax labor and environmental standards. He will also strengthen our negotiating position by lowering our corporate tax rate to keep American companies and jobs here at home, attacking our debt and deficit so China cannot use financial blackmail against us, and bolstering the U.S. military presence in the East and South China Seas to discourage Chinese adventurism. As Donald Trump has said himself,“I will be the greatest jobs president that God ever created, I tell you that. I’ll bring back our jobs from China, from Japan, from Mexico and from so many places. I’ll bring back our money. … Sadly, the American dream is dead. But if I get elected president, I will bring it back bigger and better and stronger than ever before, and we will make America great
The majority of Americans believe that the economy is the first major problem that needs to be fixed by the next upcoming president. As seen in a GALLUP poll, when asked over 12 different debatable topics, economy was number one by 39% total. (GALLUP) Since this is seen as a major problem, we would need a person who deals with economic markets, statistics, and values to address the need. This is a perfect position for Trump, as he runs multi-billion dollar companies that address similar problems daily. The economy cannot be describe in one word, nor can all the factors that effect it ever be listed. There are however some major key points that can be dissected. Currently, during Obamas administration, the nation is in a deficit of 18 trillion dollars and growing rapidly. (USDEBTCLOCK) To reverse this, or to get into a surplus, you need to make the governments revenue higher than its expenditures. This means you have to make reforms and cuts to current spending habits as well as increase cash flow to increase revenue.
The Trump economic policy suggests empowerment for our domestic population by bringing overseas jobs back to the United States. He expects the proposition upon the economic policy may win the hearts of the middle working class people who are making the big percentage of voters. Between pros and cons, Trump keeps stirring people’s sentiment, in this case, the economic boost that may bring down the current unemployment to a lower rate. Trump’s voters may have a hope lifted up because of Trump’s nature as a businessman that relevant to his economic policy statement. Consequently, his strategy comes to fruition and he is crowned as the new controversial elected president of the United States.
Trump’s economic plan is similar to most Republicans -- cut taxes. Cutting taxes always sounds great on paper, but history has gone to show that it never works out well when it comes to economic growth. Whenever taxes have been raised (like under Bill Clinton, for example) there has been major economic growth. Whenever taxes have been cut like under the Bushes and Reagan, the economy growth dwindles down. Reagan actually had to raise taxes towards the end of his presidency because things were getting so bad, and this action helped save the country from more economic damage. Although the idea put forth that cutting taxes hurts the
During end of the month of September, President Donald Trump announced his newest tax plan that he wishes to employ in place of the current tax plan millions of American citizens use today. President Trump, and people whom are in his administration, has stated that the sole purpose of this plan is help the economy; lower the ever rising national debt; and give the hardworking, taxpaying citizens of the United States a tax break. As for whether or not this “new and improved” plan will actually help the nation and its occupying people is currently in debate. It has become apparent to me that there is no shortage of people from either side of this newest debate subject. Before my personal opinion on this
Donald Trump’s main economic plan is to bring back companies that are manufacturing overseas and distributing to the US, back into America. He intends to do so by cutting the tax rate for big corporations by almost twenty percent and taxing them for bringing their goods into the country from elsewhere. His belief is that if we can help larger corporations in America, it will also benefit the middle class (one of Clinton’s primary arguments as to why the wealthy should be taxed more) by bringing more profits into the United States and creating more jobs for the middle class. He has estimated that if we get rid of corporate inversions we could grow our economy by six percent, bring over 3.5 trillion dollars back from overseas and create millions
To quote my AP economics teacher, Mr. Morse: “When the economy is in good shape, the country is in good shape. When the economy is struggling, people will start to find problems.” This statement has been relevant throughout American history, but seems especially relevant today, with the election cycle that dominated 2016 and the upcoming four years. As with most presidential candidates, one of President-Elect Donald Trump’s major focuses is the economy; namely, taxes, trade, and unemployment. While some of his policies are not completely defined, Trump’s tax policy will clearly shift to a more conservative stance. However, there are questions to be asked: Will Trump follow the paths of Reagan and Bush in his attempt to reduce taxes? Will
Donald Trump has come out with his new plan on taxes. Trump has said that he will begin by restructuring America's tax code if he is elected into office.
As stated by Trump in the Washington Post, ““Trade reform and the negotiation of great deals,” Trump went on, “is the quickest way to bring our jobs back to our country””(O’Brien 1). Donald Trump believes that if America were to become less reliant on importing goods from nations such as China, more jobs in America could be created and the U.S. Economy would thrive. This is the most plausible solution because Trump has a history of proactive efforts and has made several legal changes in his short time as president, as well as the fact that its position as a government program would be comparable to the New Deal, which was a tremendous success. Limitations to Trump's plan, however, fall under several categories that make the plan more plausible than probable. The fact that unemployment is almost inevitable, and also necessary to keep inflation at bay for the general public makes the idea of eradicating unemployment for the long term for every person not the best idea. Also, the plan has flaws that would make the economy suffer due to tariffs and create a less stable economy, or one equal to the one that is
Donald Trump's point of view, is he want’s to build a wall that supposedly Mexico will pay for because of debt. Donald Trump states “Make economy dynamic; bring back jobs from Mexico” He wants the economy to change and have jobs from China and America come back. Donald Trump says “use increasing debt ceiling as barging chip.” Trump wants to use debt that America owes to bargain better economy. He wants a better economy and the way to get that is to use America's debt. Donald trump may believe our economy is bad,but it has a chance to get better.
has become a dumping ground for everybody else’s problems,” was one of the first things Trump said in his speech. One of these including our economy. . He has filed for bankruptcy 4 times, all of which were from his hotels. How are we supposed to elect someone into office to help solve our economy problem when they cannot even solve their own? In his speech, he mentioned how much in debt we are with other countries, but failed to mention on how we would help fix it. From the facts gathered about this speech, all he does is point out the flaws past presidents have made and states how he will not do that, yet again he has no plan on how to solve the problem. “Politics are all talk, and no action,” was said by Trump, which is exactly what he is doing. Little does he know that he is also included in that statement. After filing for bankruptcy 4 times, he uses it as proof that he should still have his hands on the entire U.S.
