The main responsibilities of American Citizenship is to welcome immigrants, be an active member in the community and abide by the American flag. America is uniquely known to offer a better opportunity and life to those outside of America. Military forces ensure the security of America. There are several events where the American flag is held followed by the National Anthem which is about America’s victory and those who has lost their lives to ensure that the people are safe. Last but not least being an active member in local communities shows America’s involvement in becoming a greater country. Nevertheless, the culture of American citizenship shows the bonds and culture which is shared between citizens and importantly represents who “We the People” are. One major symbol that every American knows and respects is the American flag. The American flag has different representations through the past, present and future. The symbolic representations overall means, liberty, justice and humanity. The flag’s not only represents citizens, the citizens act upon it by its meaning. Military forces, laws, and those in authority makes sure that citizens are treated and protected. An example of authority in law is if a man commits murder to a young female, this is taking one's liberty, justice and humanity away, therefore the murder will be sentenced to prison or death by a judge. An example of military authority is when another country tries to attack America, therefore the president will order military officers to defend. Not all laws deal with order of conduct this include serving under the jury and paying taxes.
