In-Patient Programme
The in-patient service at present offers two (2) programmes; 1. For clients suffering from alcoholism and the other for clients suffering from cocaine and marijuana abuse/dependence. The length of stay in the alcoholism programme is approximately six (6) weeks. Following treatment, clients are expected to attend the aftercare programme for two (2) years.
The goal of the in-patient treatment programmes are to provide all clients with the knowledge, attitudes and capability they require to live a life that is free from all mood altering chemicals. In the provision that in-patient care be service, divided into a separate detoxification unit where a medical model will prevail, and a rehabilitation unit.

It works in collation with St Ann’s hospitals and other mental health clinics.

Relationship with Wider Society
To provide services through specialist units, to serve individuals, families and communities with a range of services geared to treat persons with addiction and to promote community care and to address stigmatization issues of mental health and persons living with them.
Student Role in the Agency
Within the agency I had to take on various roles such as:
 Learner – as a student my role is one of a learner where I learned what is required of me during the practicum. I followed instructions from my practice teacher and the other members of staff. They showed what to do and positive criticism was always welcomed in order to help me grow and learn within the agency.
 Researcher – This role was used for an assignment of explore the origins of the 12 step program and groups that was formed by the programme.
 Enabler - An enabler assists clients with coping with difficult circumstances and engages clients in becoming active participants in the problem solving process. Enabler also works with individuals, families and groups to modify behaviors that can serve as obstacles to them achieving their goals. This role
