The Industrial Revolution has many pros and cons. It was a stepping stone for places all over the world. This lead to a more advanced and drastically changed world. Many things that changed caused harm to the world and many people think that it was a mistake for it to happen. Well, other people think that it was the best thing to happen to the world. It lead people out of the past and into the future. Let's start by talk about good things first.
There are many great pros to the Industrial Revolution. One of the most significant pros was the start of a faster and more desirable future of transportation. One of the worst negatives was the child labor in the factories. Some children would have to work in the factories 10 to 14 hours a day and would drop out of school. Their conditions were dreadful and they would have to work in factories where there was no regulation on the gasses the machines let off, and many times it was hard to breathe and sometimes would destroy their lungs. Later on the conditions got better and kids weren't allowed to work as many hours or at all. A lot of conditions were also bad for the women they had to work in conditions the same or worse than the men but were paid less by a dollar or two a week. This doesn't sound like a lot but back then a week's pay was only a couple dollars. Another problem was the burning of coal causing there to be a colossal amount of pollution in the world. Many scientist believe that this was the start of global warming on earth. But, the problem of coal hasn't gone away even today coal is used for a variety of reasons. A lot of factories during the Industrial Revolution would burn coal to run the machines. Today we have more laws against the pollution of the Earth, but it is still a huge issue for our planet. The last negative effect is that some factory owners would get rid of U.S. citizens because the foreign citizens would work for less money. When they did this to people they took away a job from someone with a family or was trying to start a life.
