Paintball Safety
People tend to think that paintball is a violent and unsafe sport in which people shoot each other with intent to hurt. Well they are wrong paintball is a very safe sport and non violent. There are a lot of rules, regulations and also gear that “paintballers” have to follow. A lot of injuries involved are due to human error and plain stupidity. Due to this it gives paintball a lot of negative vibes. But as people realize that paintball is really not that unsafe it is gaining its popularity back.
Statistics show that you’re more likely to get injured playing another sport like football than you are playing paintball. “I mean safety is a huge issue for parents

“When kids are driving around shooting random people out of their car then yes that is violent but it’s like someone puts on a pair of boxing gloves and then knocks someone out”. (Lancia) That is a direct quote from a professional player who’s been playing for multiple years and has seen the drastic changes in the sport from the early 2000’s to now.
The violence in paintball isn’t as bad as it is in some other sports like hockey where they promote fighting or even mixed martial arts where they put two men in a cage to beat up each other till one either gets knocked out or “taps” out. When in paintball your shooting a gelatin capsule filled with oil based paint at each other, which doesn’t hurt like, getting punched in the face like they do in mixed martial arts.
The violence in paintball is due to immature kids and even adults driving around in cars and shooting people, which usually gets them in the face. A lot of doctors will tell you how dangerous a paintball gun is due to the emergency room visits by patients who have been hit in the eye and or face by a paintball. Getting hit by a paintball can lead to major ocular damage “Injuries owing to paintballs can result in severe ocular damage and visual loss. Ophthalmologists should emphasize increased awareness and need for proper ocular protection”

Paintball field owners do a lot to help prevent these injuries on their fields by training staff to remove the people from the field if the remove their mask or if the violate one of the other rules. Most paintball owners will have their players sign a waver when they first go to the field to play. This protects them from getting sued due to the player’s stupidity if they get injured while playing. But it is not only the field owner’s that should be trying to prevent injuries it should be everyone that plays. Because if you play even if it is out in the woods you and the other people your playing against should be wearing eye protection. When you start to play paint ball always buy your mask first only because it is the most important piece of equipment you will ever buy. Its either have a fancy marker and no vision or a really good mask and an alright marker and your
That isn’t the case for most kids. For a lot of kids in competitive sports, it doesn’t matter how careful you are, you are bound to get hurt once or twice a year. When kids play competitive sports, they can get hurt pretty badly. A lot of kids break bones, get concussions, or other injuries while playing in competitive sports. Also, since kids are growing more, they seem to have more troubles with injuries than adults do, and according to the NCBI, “Due to the rapid expansion of bones while growing and slowly elongating muscles, tension develops across the growth plates, the apophyses, and the joints. Most injuries happen during practices, and competitive sports teams have more practices than non competitive.”. (NCBI). Concussions are very dangerous, and according to Prevacus Inc., “There are between an estimated 1.6 and 3.8 million sports-related concussions in the United States every year,” (Prevacus). Also, USA Today said; There may be a lot of concussions, but there are also a lot more injuries too, “Sprains and strains, fractures, contusions, abrasions and concussions top the list of sports-related ER diagnoses for kids ages 6 to 19 — at a cost of more than $935 million each year.” (USA Today). Which is why competitive sports are very
When it comes to subject that the public is concerned about, contact sports and the consequences that come from playing such sports is definitely high on the list. The one fact that one will notice by reading the following is the reasons why contact sports should be banned and the credible sources that have confirmed the harsh outcomes of playing such sports. Through the injuries, problems that come from concussions, and the fact that athletes are pushed beyond their limitations, one will see that playing contact sports is not at all what it is cracked up to be. The injuries tell it all and through the blood-soaked writing that has been typed below one will see that playing contact sports should be banned for good from public schools.
Children play. The manner in which children have played has frequently changed throughout the years. There was a time where sticks or index fingers were used to symbolize guns or bows in order for children to play “cowboys and Indians.” Later, the same mechanisms were used as children would play “cops and robbers.” Children mimic what they see in reality when it is time to play. However, children are not known to mimic what they play when functioning in real life. For example, children who played “cowboys and Indians” were not known to actually go out and try to harm others in the belief that they actually were cowboys or Indians. These examples are relevant in today’s society as critics of violent video games often attribute violence in reality to the violence in video games. However, videos games are a form of play and, as the previous examples have shown, what a child plays is not reflected in what that child actually does in their real life.
First of all, my first reason is kids won't have fun. Kids these days always talk about sports what sports they are doing outside of school and what sport they are going to do in school. Kids probably can't wait to join football,
He includes this into his paper to clarify his reasons behind promoting paintball. He goes on to explain each aspect he had mentioned by giving proper evidence to support his views. Like when he disguises paintball as an athletic sport he states that "During the game, players execute numerous strategic moves to gain a tactical advantage, often including quick jumps, dives, rolls, and runs." To continue to support his argument, Taylor mentions the article about eye injuries. Paintball can be violent and can cause such injuries if not played with proper safety precautions. He mentions the counter argument about violent injuries in order to justify his thought properly. Finally when Taylor begins to explain how people interpret paintball as a promoter of violence he counter attacks that with the fact that there is nothing proven that this sport influences teenagers into committing violent dangerous acts.
One of the more major concerns about players getting injured in football games is that they have faulty protection on their bodies. Studies have shown that since the start of football, players would get hurt every game. Back then they only have leather helmets. Nowadays, the NFL uses hard plastic with thick padding. Injuries have significantly went down since then but helmets are still a problem today. According to one article they state that “An estimated 1.6-3.8 million sports and recreation related concussions occur in the United States each year.” With people starting to see and hear these scary results, many are starting to rally and protest against professional and recreational football. They don’t want their kids to be exposed to such harm. Some people are even saying they want football to be abolished.
Playing football is not like playing other sports. Athletes in all kinds of sports risk injuring themselves, but in football, a lot of the risk comes from other athletes. While there are many ways to be injured playing football, one of the worst is head-to-head targeting. This has been a problem in football since the beginning of the game, especially, when equipment was not very protective. Over the past eight years, the National College Athletic Association (NCAA) has implemented rules and penalties specifically designed to protect players and to hopefully reduce the number of bad head injuries (Marshall). The NCAA is doing the right thing by protecting players from severe injury by calling and enforcing targeting penalties.
Many argue that football builds teamwork, friendship, and other important life skills; however, there are other sports that build the same skills and are not nearly as dangerous. Concussions are very serious and for tons of kids to be getting them is not alright. According to the video, “Deadly Hits - The Story Of Ex Football Player Chris Coyne”, football players face the highest risk of concussions. This shows that football is one of the most dangerous sports if the players of the sport are at the highest risk of getting an extremely serious injury. In the article, “Should You Let Your Kid Play Football?” by Amir Khan, it states football’s impacts can lead to sprains, broken bones, and other physical injuries, and concussions as well. This proves that football can cause a great deal of different injuries. By letting children play this sport, we are seriously jeopardizing their health. Who would want to do that to the world’s
Football is a intense and super physical game which helmet to helmet occurs which can cause football players to die. For example, in the article “Would I let my son play football” by Scott Fujita he states “The latest dark reminder come monday, when a 16 years old high school player from brocton, N.Y., died after a helmet-to-helmet hit in a game on friday night”. This supports my claim that football players professional and non professional die from playing football. Also, statistically in 2013 eight players died from injuries sustained on the
Role playing games with simulated violence are diverting for kids. I believe they’re good teamwork building activities, there’s no legitimate physical harm to the people playing, they’re a breathtaking escape from everyday life, and they don’t teach any sensible violent skills to people playing.
Football is often labeled as a dangerous, unsafe sport, but there are many good things that come along with playing football. In the past two weeks I have learned about the risks that accompany football. Many kids suffer with concussions and face injuries from the sport, which scares many people away. But, despite the risks and the unsafe label, I would allow my child to play football because it promotes health, builds friendships, and helps gain toughness.
As technology as progressed, more people, especially youth, take part in playing video games. There has been an steady increase of video game usage because of the fact that video games have become more life-like and realistic. While they have become more realistic in aesthetic ways, they have also become more violent in content as well. Games like Call of Duty
You are worried about your child going to get injured in his first game of football. Little did you know, there's nothing you should be really worried about. In fact, sports to young children or teens might seem dangerous. But on the other hand, it is just a fun sport for young children and teens to play. Sports also makes kids and teens active in a fun way and sports makes kid entertain themselves. Although sports seems dangerous, teens and young children should be allowed to play sports because sports makes them healthy, higher scores in school, and makes kids less depressed (sad).
New surveys and data reports showing that repeated trauma to the head can cause CTE which seriously affects the brain and human body overall. Symptoms such as dizziness all the way to the most extreme like loss of motor function, dementia, etc. With all of the recent buzz about this phenomenon, The NFL, NCAA and state sports committees such as the WIAA have been trying to prevent the future generations of athletes and sports players suffer from these diseases. Acts such as reducing practice time allowing full contact and also schools buying the best helmet protection available shows how schools are really working to help kids across America. In addition, the NFL has publicly shown responsibility for head to head injuries and the lack of supervision and serious along with them. The organization is actively pushing technology to protect the brain as best as
Did you know that seventy-one percent of American teens play video games? Violent video games have a negative effect because they teach children and teens that violence is the way to solve real life problems. The following paragraphs will go into details on how they are bad, how they are good, their bad effects and their good effects.
