Steven Allan Spielberg is known to be one of the best film directors in the world. He has made many movies which became popular almost instantly. Steven’s films are widely known to different age groups and his films have won several different awards. Steven still has endless imagination, and he has not yet showed all his imagination though films. Steven is a movie director who we look for his future films. 1. How did you become a movie director? When I was young, I was into taking photos and dealing with the camera as well as watching movies. As I began to see more movies and cameras, I got more interested in technology. Watching different movies and getting in touch with technology led me to making small films by myself. I had creative imagination …show more content…
I originally applied for department of Films in UCLA, but they rejected me after looking at my GPAs and a bit lacking films I made as a student. So I had no choice but to go to department English. My father told me that incase I do not want to make films, I could teach English to students. My father was the main reason I went to department English. *laughs* 4. How do you feel when you’re directing a movie? I always feel nervous while directing. I don’t know if the movie will be loved by audiences or not, and since my job is to make good movies to my best ability, I am nervous when I first show the teaser of the movie. I sometimes get worried when people don’t seem to be engaged with my movie, but if my movie doesn’t turn out to be a big hit, I look for substances that might have been the obstacle for my movie to not be a hit. 5. Can you name one movie that you feel great pride in? Um… I guess it would be ET. ET was a big hit when the movie was launched and I had, of course, worked my best, but I didn’t know so many people would love it in such a short time. They loved my movie which I feel proud of, which is one of the reasons that I feel great pride in, but I have worked especially hard on creating the story plot. I have had times when I thought the movie wasn’t flowing well, but I am relieved now that people love my movie,
In a 1977 interview with Steven Spielberg, the young filmmaker mused, “I think in a way I’m two different people; my instincts always commandeer my sensibilities, or my intellect is always beaten down by my instincts” (36). Spielberg’s prognosis is accurate – Spielberg’s creative instincts and business sensibilities balance each other, laying the foreground for his present prominence as both a postmodern constructor and postmodern auteur. 40 years later, today, Steven Spielberg remains one of the most highly-recognized, prolific directors in Hollywood. I argue that Spielberg is both a postmodern constructor and postmodern auteur, but
From an early age I have always had a strong interest in art, and have been involved with it in some form all through my life. When I turned 15 I realised that it was something that I might like to pursue as a career, I started taking it more seriously. At the same time, I gained interest in film production because I find the behind the scenes of films are amazing as I found this out when I was watching one the behind the scene documentary of my two favorite movies and directed by two of my favorite directors in the film industry which are Goodfellas by Alfonso Cuarón and Children of Men by Martin Scorsese. The specific parts in this course that interest me are the cinematography and the editing process. In my spare time I like to film and edit short videos, either scripted or just finding video clips I have to match up to a song.
“Steven Spielberg is really the wunderkind of the film business” says a Hollywood reporter. Another reporter calls him the youngest filmmaker ever contracted to a major studio. Steven was discovered by Universal Studios from his short amateur film “Amblin”(McBride). He won a directing contract at Universal. Steven is known as the most successful director from Universal to this day as well. The Universal Studios theme park has made many rides after famous Spielberg movies. Some of the rides include Jaws, Jurassic Park, Raiders of the Lost Ark, etc. Spielberg has won over 70 awards and multiple golden globe awards. Spielberg started off as an amateur film director who thought it wasn’t possible to get a directing job due to his crazy ideas. Little did he know that when he shared his crazy ideas with the world that everyone would love his style. Spielberg was almost fired from Universal for his poor directing in Jaws, it was a very expensive movie to make, due to the newer quality and futuristic items in it. Luckily, Spielberg finished Jaws and moved on to become the world's most critically acclaimed director. Spielberg was recognized throughout all countries for making some non-english films as well. He won multiple national awards from Japan, Germany, and Italy. Steven Spielberg is perhaps the best director to ever live(McBride).
I tried my hand at mediums such as painting, sculpting, sketching and many more. My passion soon grew when I got my first camera, I never thought that photography could be a tool for art and could tell such powerful stories. I always saw them as objects just for taking tacky family photos but, my mindset soon changed when I saw new world beauty through the lens of the camera and I was hooked, I knew this is what I wanted to do for my life.
As one of the most widely acclaimed and influential directors of the postwar era, Stanley Kubrick enjoyed a reputation and a standing unique among the filmmakers of his day. He had a brilliant career with relatively few films. An outsider, he worked beyond the confines of Hollywood, which he disliked, maintaining complete control of his projects and making movies according to his own ideas and time constraints. To him, filmmaking was a form of art and unlike Hollywood, not a business.
I chose to major in Cinematography and Film/Video Production because of this love and admiration that I grew for films. Beyond just Star Wars, this love grew for films as I began to watch a multitude of films

After viewing the cinematic film, “Minority Report” by Stephen Spielberg, the task to make an interview about the movie was handed to me. My job was to interview two people about the futuristic technologies in the movie. For the analysis of their answers I will not use their names to keep their anonymity and privacy, since they did not want to share those information, hence I will call them ‘Interviewee #1’ and ‘Interviewee #2’. However they agreed onto to tell their age, since I needed to interview people from an older generation .Also the interviews were done in another language than English, I had to translate it and because of that some of the information from the original interview was altered to make the text more fluent and understandable.
