Good evening.Today I would like to talk about Mexican American.Actually,we all know that the US is a melting pot of different races and nationalities.Usually,when it comes to races in America,many of us thinks about the racial discrimination between white and black.And Latin Americans,Mexican Americans in particular, are forgotten. Nonetheless.in reality,Mexican American makes up 10% of the United States population and the United States is home to the second-largest Mexican community in the world, second only to Mexico itself.Noticeably,Mexican American history spans more than 400 years and varies from region to region within the United States. We have to admit that Mexican American is still the minority in the country and the US is not
Mexico is the 14th largest county in the world. The Mexicans speak the Spanish language. Much of Mexican culture revolves around religious values and the church. 95% of Mexicans are of the Catholic faith.
Love me or hate me no matter what you may think of me I stand for millions that can't stand for themselves. I am from somewhere you can't imagine and I was brought up in conditions where many would not survive. What your see in front of you is a strong, intelligent, Mexican American also known a Chicano/Chicana. I am seen less than what I really am, and viewed as an immigrant our even in some people's eyes labeled as an outsider. You people label me as Hispanic but I am not, I am a proud Mexican-American “Chicano.” The Chicano Culture base comes from Mexico, slang name also known to be Mexicano. It was used in ancient times to spot each member from the Aztec Indian Tribe. Anyone who was born in Mexico was seen as a Mexicano. Although most people don't know the difference an Chicano isn't a Mexican, he/she is a Mexican-American that was born and current lives in the United States since the early 20th century.

The American culture is define to everyone in their own way. Everyone grows up differently in a particular community that shares the same languages, values, rules, and customs. The American Culture on that is consider to be a “melting pot”, because of all the different cultures that reside inside of it making it so diverse. Race in this country has never been a great topic throughout history. African Americans play a huge role into defining what our culture is as a whole, as well as being a part of racism for the past 250 years.
Latin Americans; those coming from countries south of the United States, especially those speaking Spanish, Portuguese, or French (Dictionary.com, 2016) make up a large portion of the United States. In 2013 Cobo, L., & Cantor-Navas, J., note that Latin Americans were 52 million strong and making up 16.7% of the population further stating Hispanics were the nation 's largest ethnic or race minority with over 60%
There are three iconic symbols of the presence of Mexican Americans in the history of the United States: The role of Mexican Americans in the WWII, the Bracero movement, and the Zoot Suit Riot. All three moments provide insight on the participation of Hispanics in the construction of the American society and more importantly, on the way the Mexican American identity has been constructed and on the ways this community has been considered, in general terms, a group of domestic aliens. As a consequence, Mexican Americans have been segregated and denied equal opportunity historically. However, they are here to stay, an Anglos better learn to deal with their presence.
I will start my presentation with a depiction of what legal and illegal immigration encompass. After, I will talk about the impacts of immigration on America. I will finalize my presentation with the current government actions that are changing the immigration system.

I am 6"1, Irish/English by birth , 55 years of age, raised in England. I came to the United States a year ago to help a British construction company set up a branch but due to some internal issues between the board of directors in England they had to shut down the company just before it even started so I decided to remain in the United States and started working as an independent Contractor.
