Hans Rosling used informative visuals that were interactive. There were several details that were related to colors and animation, for instance, the use of graphics, the colorful bubbles and the statistics. The font was relatively small; the vivid colors like yellow, red and blue were great because they captured the attention. The animation also held the attention and interest of the audience. It is great to witness how everything changed through the years. Something that did not work was the fact that the bubbles did not keep the labels; he had to click on them to see what they were. Roslin was not specific about every tiny bubble, so it was not clear what countries were being represented with each bubbles. It was difficult to understand
The first category of design I will be evaluating is the lighting. Many different tactics are used by the lights to illustrate different effects on the audience. One thing done is the color of the lights changed frequently. This was used to change the scene from day to night, change the weather, change the mood of the characters, and more. For example, the sunset and sunrise was often shown when the characters were aboard and on the beach of Neverland. Another tactic used by the lighting crew was changing the angle of the
Critical visuality breaks protective molds of visual experiences to interpret them using historical, sociological, cultural, political and environmental aspects of society. Visuality does not have a critical aspect to it because the creators expect the viewer to accept what is presented to them and not question the how valid the information is or if there is a bigger context to it. Some of the creators can be the government and the news media. These creators impose a sense of trust on the viewer that the text and images presented is truthful, just a true reflection of society the way it is and how it will always be.
This is an anti-smoking advertisement geared towards parents of young children. The advertisement is overall plain and simple; it gets straight to the point when you look at it and utilizes a dark theme. This anti-smoking advertisement is trying to evoke a sense of “parental guilt” into parents who smoke. The way the advertisement is able to do this is through the use of an optical illusion, use of text and the use of negative space.
On the box many things appeal to the eye of the reader, such as the superheros and their symbols which everyone knows of and specifically kids. Another thing on
Nguyen Ngoc Loan was photographed in the act of executing Nguyen Van Lem in the Vietnam War 1968. This Photograph developed a discussion about the horrifying truth and violence in Vietnam. Moreover, the image portrays the inhumane nature of war and it also reveals the brutality of human nature. The lasting image of Nguyen Loan shows how he lacks any emotion as he executes Lem without hesitation. Alternatively, the image poses a question as to the thoughts of Lem at the very moment of his execution. Additionally, the photo shows the decay of human nature and compassion towards fellow human beings. Noticing the soldier to the left of the executor shows an indifferent attitude at the taking of a life. As one looks further into the photograph the
He makes the important details clear and blurs the rest. The reader can really get the emotions of the people on the foreground. Of Course, the biggest and clearest are Dzung and her family. Specifically her and her step-dad stand out, because they are the only two smiling. Everyone else looks like they’re tired, worried, mad, and struggling. On the other hand, the background looks a lot more sketched. Some of the figures in the back do not even have faces. The reader can see that they are fighting, suffering and dying but they’re just figures. Also, the airplanes and parachutes look very sketched, small and insignificant. This could be because as a kid, that is probably not what was on Dzung’s
The director also used many elements of design but the ones that I thought were very obvious were color, shape, and texture. One of the very influential design elements in the film was color. The main factor for this was the color of their houses and cars. Each one of the townspeople's homes were all colors with pinks, yellows and blues. The homes were also very nice and had the prettiest lawns and very clean houses inside and outside.
Subjective, or objective, perhaps both, using a Star Wars bed sheet for the subject along with two different sources to gain our information we will form comparisons, a clear distinction between the styles of analysis. “All My Life”, written by John Freyer, along with the E-bay web site will be where the information will be collected, same item, yet exceedingly different ways of letting their audience know what is for sale. John Freyer’s, work is overwhelmingly subjective, talking about the history of it than the actual features of it. E-bay, unquestionably objective, with experienced sellers who are perspicuous with details in the description of the items, gives the buyer a distinct account of the purchase. However, there’s only one link that makes them the same, they both give the main idea of what they are trying to sell which is a full/queen size Star Wars sheet therefore I don’t believe this to be enough compelling information to warrant merit. This leads me to conclude it
The fact that they were human figures in terms of abstract forms. When i was beginning photography in 2012 the first function i learned on my sony camera was the shutter speed. At the time i did not know it but i had slowly come to realize my work was a reflection of the abstract expressionist movement. Capturing human figures in terms of abstract forms is so beautiful because it makes one feel as if they were watching a live show, this is why i was hooked.
With the development of new technologies, everyday people are becoming more and more dependent on visual messages for meaning in media such as television, computer screens and photos. Visual messages are also conveyed in traditional forms such as poetry and novels, but these messages are created through words rather than images. The German film Run Lola Run directed by Tom Tykwer and the Australian poem ‘Young Woman Gathering Lemons’ by Jan Owen both evoke strong feelings through the images that they create. They each offer a distinctive sense of the visual using very different techniques.
Majority of the human race gets engaged to objects or images that will draw their attention. We see things and we start to think and wonder, then search for answers, sometimes our brains can put things together quickly, but interested to learn more. A visualization researcher Colin Ware says, “2.05D is our depth perception.” That I am shocked to even hear or know because he also said, “what we actually see when we open our eyes is an interpretation of the world on two very similar 2-D planes (one from each eye).”
I really enjoyed reading your assignment of the visual argument. You were very detailed about the photo. I agree so must with the way you described the photo. The parent must monitor what the child watch on television at all time. It really doesn’t matter what you the child watch sometime, because it with the mind set of the child. The center of the photo is all the violence that goes on in the world. Sometimes its not the tv or video games it’s the abusive home and bullying at school. Children shooting up school in different has to stop. It effect everybody when something happen in the world not just the kids. I agree with also with the video games. I believe that should just take the violent video games should be took off the shelves. That
The first thing I noticed is the set pieces and not only how colorful they were but the detail put into the scenery. Kudos to director Xu Jizhou, because every scene is detailed and unique in its structure. Jizhou does a good job building up the suspense and telling
1. The topic chosen is topic number three. I chose this topic because of how important the use of graphic visuals are to the story Satrapi is trying to tell. It draws the reader in an unusual way that a standard novel draws its reader in. Normally, the reader visualizes what is happening in what they are reading, but with this novel that is not required. Instead, it allows the reader as well as Satrapi to focus on other important elements like her rhetoric. The logos is very prevalent through her writings. For starters she uses historical events that took place during the time period to make her stories seem more concrete and real. She also uses many relevant music stars during the time period to create that connection with her audience.
In the Winchester Cultural Center Gallery, Eric Vozzola's artwork is displayed in an exhibit called: "A Visual Language". As you walk through the door, you would see Eric's paintings organized in a row starting from the wall closest to the window, the center of the room, and then nearest to the doorway. Eric's paintings were either presented in a white frame or his paintings were frameless. His paintings were also either on a wall or distanced from a wall on cement bricks. There are ten artworks of his being exposed to the people of the community. He presents his paintings of the human touch through visual art by applying colorful, patterned, surreal, and contrasting composition. Although there were ten of his pieces to evaluate, I selected
