An information letter was sent to families, making clear that the intervention would be delivered during regular class time at no cost to parents, and anonymity would be preserved. Informed consent was obtained. A week before the implementation of the program, the school’s Guidance Officer went to the each Year 6 and 7 class to administer the student’s pre-assessment package during school hours. Each question was read aloud to the group and their understanding of each item checked. Each child, then individually rated each question in their own assessment pack.
The program started the following week and the whole intervention was conducted over two school terms with weekly sessions of 30 minutes each (approximately 5 months). Three classroom
Assessments for young children can be inappropriate because young children change and grow quickly. Their emotional, social, and physical development can change in just a matter of months. "Misuses of assessments for young children have been documented (Meisels, 1987, 1989, 1993; Shepard, 1991, 1994). Excessive use of standardized tests is especially inappropriate (National Association for the Education of Young Children, 1987). Standardized achievement tests alone cannot fulfill the major purpose of assessment in programs for young children. Those purposes are: instructional planning and communicating with parents, identification of children with special needs, and program evaluation and accountability". (Hills, 1992). The team believes that this report will lead to the continuous provision of quality health care services for the jail population in MCSO facilities.
Bea’s classroom are considered formative assessments. Mrs. Bea spoke emphatically about the value of pre- and post-testing, declaring it an integral part of her practice. She argued that pre-testing is a useful indicator of children’s existing knowledge, understanding, and competencies. Pre-testing gives invaluable insight into her students which Mrs. Bea uses to determine the focus areas and starting points of her explicit teaching. Joseph and Brooks echo this sentiment, stating “we start with
Many regulations exist for various facets of corporate industries. Compliance plans in a health industry exist to ensure that any program created by a healthcare provider follow regulations to avoid abuse of information. Compliance planning for healthcare providers has become essential to protecting practices. As we have recently acquired a hospital group we should work to build a compliance plan, and the safeguards needed to keep information secure.
Today, the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH’s) main focus is to transfer healthcare records from a paper format to a digital format known as Electronic Health Records (EHR). Due to the sensitivity of the transferal of this data; the possibility of hackers and breaches, the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) alongside HITECH recommend that health care entities employ multiple approved governing standards to aid in the facility remaining compliant with current local and federal regulations for safety and privacy of said data (Oracle.com, 2011). These regulations govern both the local and federal hardware/software vendors and users now known as business associates under the Mega
Compliance plans are a MAJOR factor in the medical field. Compliance plans correlate to different medical records documentation standards by investigating the files. Reviewers come to medical offices to make sure that things like billing and requirements of the patient are correct. An example would be something like this: Men 50 and over are supposed to be checked for prostate cancer (requirement). If it is seen in a record that the procedure has not been done, or at least offered to be done, it may be brought to the attention of the doctor or clerical staff. With that, these reviewers must make sure that payment was made (by the patient or insurance) towards the test/lab/procedure. The same would go for mammograms for older women, well-child
Tamika has an obligation to keep client information confidential which is supported by state and federal law. Texas does have a duty to warn law which requires anyone having knowledge of suspected child abuse or neglect to report it to the appropriate authorities (Sommers-Flanagan, 2015). Mandatory reporting applies to everyone and is not just limited to health care professionals or teachers. The law extends to individuals whose personal communications may be otherwise privileged, such as attorneys, clergy members, and health care professionals. “Section 261.101 of the Texas Family Code mandates that anyone who suspects child abuse or neglect must report it immediately” (Health and Safety Code, 2016). The Thomas family does have a history of
The American Health Information Management Association defines Health Information Management as “the practice of acquiring, analyzing, and protecting digital and traditional medical information vital to providing quality patient care” (ahima.org, What is Health Information?). This field is directly involved with information governance and managing the life cycle of all information. HIM is concerned with information governance because of the importance of balancing the availability of information with the security of that information. This delicate balance is paramount to the protection of everyone from the patient to the facility that is managing the information. The need to worry about information governance has recently become even more important with the transition to the Electronic Health Record.
Sufficient instructional time should be allotted to allow students to receive immediate feedback and correct answers. Consequently, teachers should implement a formative assessment schedule based upon the work of Wisehart and Pashler to prepare students for summative unit assessments. Additionally, the instructional time allotted to prolonged SOL review blocks are to be parsed out over a six-month period using a 3-week interval to optimize retention and subsequently SOL
Intervention: The intervention began with 1 in-person session with a health educator who administered a tailoring questionnaire and set behavioral goals.
Prior to measuring quality of the information produced and used, healthcare organization must establish data standards. To establish its own data quality standards, it is a vital to use quality data standards published by Medical Records Institute (MRI) and American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) as a baseline. Applicable regulations, accreditation and professional practice standards, and legal measures must be maintained accordingly as such health record is a legal business record for health organization.
