Brief introduction:
This assignment of installation and maintenance of Hemolyzer 5 for the contract period of two year was carried out during my work at Sunrise Surgical House, Kathmandu. This is one of the job assignments I have successfully performed during my work in this company since May, 2013.I was required to install, validate the results with Quality control samples, train the users and finally maintain and repair the machine periodically and whenever required.
Reducing the errors with minimum maintenance is desirable to increase the efficiency of machine for highly accurate and consistent result of hematology parameter of human blood. This is important task for me to implement the skill, knowledge and experience gained in the training provided by the manufacturer Analyticon Biotechnologies AG, Germany.
Background
Nepal Police Hospital selected our company to carry out this project through the public bidding procedure. After the invitation for sealed quotation including the specifications and prices, I personally prepared all necessary paper with utmost care. I filled out the tender form using our prefeasibility study. Finally the decision came in our favor.
Objective of Project
The core objective of this contract is
When I stepped into the core lab, the Hematologist Melissa showed me around the lab. There were many machines such as sysmex xe-5000 that help the hematologist in detecting singularities in the blood. The machine that I mentioned above scans the barcode from the tube, turns the tube up and down to mix WBC, RBC, and palate, and takes in little samples of blood to determine whether the owner of the blood have any unusualness in their blood. Sometimes, she would do manually in order to find the number of the palate; she would insert blood
The cost of Medical equipment plays a significant role in the delivery of health care. The clinical engineering at Victoria Hospital is an important branch of the hospital team management that are working to strategies ways to improve quality of service and lower cost repairs of equipments. The team members from Biomedical and maintenance engineering’s roles are to ensure utilization of quality equipments such as endoscope and minimize length of repair time. All these issues are a major influence in the hospital’s project cost. For example, Victory hospital, which is located in Canada, is in the process of evaluating different options to decrease cost of its endoscope repair. This equipment is use in the endoscopy department for
When teaching the patient, timing is crucial. I plan about 30 minutes for this teaching lesson because it allows more time for patient to learn new the information. First, I will demonstrate how the machine works and how to apply blood on the test strip while I maintained aseptic technique. Self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG) by persons with diabetes is an integral part of intensive glycemic treatment and is widely believed to improve the control of blood glucose levels and health outcomes. For some meter machine, the accuracy can be affected by interfering substances (medication), temperature, hematocrit level, and user technique. In addition, the accuracy of blood glucose meters
In order to eliminate the inefficiencies witnessed in many public and private hospitals that serve a number of patients, an integrated approach to handling the daily workload is necessary. There is need for all departments within the hospital to work closely together in ensuring more effective and efficient service deliveries. In this paper, a planned change is going to be carried out involving designing a new system that incorporates all the departments within the hospital. This includes the surgery department, pediatrics department, dentistry department, nursing department, pharmacy departments, laboratory and testing department, X-ray and Physiotherapy departments, Equipment maintenance and Engineering department, Information Technology
Quality control processes are also a major part of a Sterile Processing technicians daily task. As pointed out on the Infection Control Today’s website “Healthcare facilities should allow adequate time for reprocessing to ensure adherence to all steps recommended by the device manufacturer, including drying, proper storage, and transport of reprocessed devices”. (“Immediate Need to Review,”2015) This involves a detailed policy and procedure manual and manufactures instructions available for all technicians to reference to ensure proper measures are taken for the cleaning and processing of medical products to ensure patient

Patients who use peritoneal dialysis change their own cleansing solutions at home, usually about six times per day. This procedure can be done manually when active or automatically by machine when sleeping. However, the patient’s overall condition, as well as the positioning of the catheter, must be monitored regularly by nurses and technicians at the Dialysis Center (Gapenski, pg. 27-28). The Outpatient Clinic currently takes up 80 percent of the space it shares with the Dialysis Center. The recent growth in volume has created a need of 25 percent more space for the Clinic. Its large size compared to the Dialysis Center and its patients frequent use of other departments in the hospital are justifications as to why it was decided to move the Dialysis Center to another building. Big Bend Medical Center currently doesn’t have adequate space to house the Dialysis Center, so it was also decided to build a new 20,000-square-foot building. This expansion and move were went to benefit both departments and help increase patient volume. The goal of increased patient volume is expected, but the directors and other department heads did not agree with the new allocation of indirect costs. In the past, facilities costs were aggregated, so all departments were charged cost based on the average embedded cost regardless of actual age of the space occupied. Since many department heads considered this
Main goals as a health care organization to optimize but also to achieve the flow of products and service with limited resources. First step is finding a local vendor for supply chain. The local vendor of choice is McKesson, they operated and have local warehouse but are a large supply chain organization that has a large online present with maintaining and providing medical supplies. They provide services with software offer by their organization. In which the operations strategy for the organization is to develop high quality invoice tracking and ordering system with using the McKesson’s software. All equipment and distribution of supply is to be maintained by supply staff with using the system to track orders, placing orders and obtain invoices from inside the EMS Station. Marketing team would have to build a strong relationship with the local McKesson warehouse staff and local hospital home medical oxygen supplier, by promoting and build an effective teamwork with them to maintain quality supply management. For follow up services, Operational manager must check on supply staffs on how well they are keeping and maintaining all equipment, and supplies for all trucks, find innovative ways to make improvement with orders, invoices and maintaining supplies to meet the needs of each ambulance on the streets
Any future changes or suggestions can be submitted to the director for approval. The sustainability of my project is simple since it will be submitted in a user-friendly electronic form that can be edited as needed. The form will be typed in black and white ink, available on the hospital’s digital archive, Emprint, and reproduced easily on any hospital printer. It will take the place of the current SBAR communication form and be used for all hospital
A bachelor's degree in one of the physical sciences is typically necessary. Blood spatter analysts deal with various academic areas, such as physics, math, biology, and chemistry. Also, blood spatter analysts are expected to endure specific training. Regular teachings in blood examination have been established by the Global Organization of Blood Spatter Analysts (Roufa, ‘’How to be a Bloodstain Pattern Analyst’’). Besides the necessary blood spatter analysis program, other lessons and programs are accessible and highly suggested.

Within the BBraun company, its main focus is anesthesia products. The company makes sure that nurses, doctors, pharmacists and other staff are knowledgeable in understanding the use of the products and the durability of it. BBraun created a SWOT analysis, so that the company can view what areas need improvement within the company. This can help the company determine ways to create the machines better than its competitors and even view ways on marketing its products across to other facilities and countries. BBraun latest addition to the company is the Apex machine. This is its key strategic issue, being that the company can find a way to upgrade its machines compared to other machines the hospitals and other healthcare facilities are utilizing.
The aim of this experiment was to determine the concentration of haemoglobin in an unknown blood sample using the haemoglobincyanide method and to adapt this method to determine percentage haemoglobin F (foetal haemoglobin) in an unknown sample, and to understand the relevance of these tests in the calculation of Hb concentration.
