Internationalism is the "coöperation among nations, for the promotion of their common good, sometimes as contrasted with nationalism, or devotion to the interests of a particular nation .." and isolationism is "the policy or doctrine of isolating one's country from the affairs of other nations by declining to enter into alliances, foreign economic commitments, international agreements, etc., seeking to devote the entire efforts of one's country to its own advancement and stay at peace by avoiding foreign entanglements and responsibilities." There are advantages to both sides. For Internationalism it gets to interact and make decisions with the other countries, giving their country a stand and a say in what happens in the world. Internationalism calles for taking on more responsibility when interacting with the other countries because you are making choices and decisions that represent your country up against the other countries. Then for isolationism, the responsibility is to take care of yourself and only have to make decisions that will benefit your county and your country alone. Not having to worry about what any other county does or has to say about it. I would prefer to be involved in Internationalism because I want to have control and a say in what happens to me and around me. I'm not the kind of person to just sit back and let everyone else figure it out I want to be involved to see what I can do to help benefit me, my country and the world around me. To be involved with isolationism is to just sit back and watch. What if something bad happens and the other countries make a terrible decision, what can you do about it? nothing because you have been uninvolved up until now. You wanted to sit back and maintain peace with your own country. So now guess what, you get to sit back and watch the nation, maybe even the world crumble to
