My role is in our piece is being a depressed teenager that goes to parties to try to distract himself from his own depression. The reason why my character is depressed is because he recently broke up with his girlfriend that he had a two year and a half relationship with, and since he truly loved her, he is completely lost without her and he doesn’t know what to do with his life. The reason why they broke up because my character found out that his girlfriend was cheating on him with his best friend. My relationship to the other characters in the presentation is that the other characters are always depressed and they go to parties to meet up together, so they can dance and distract themselves from their own depression.

But that break-up wasn’t bad to the point were I was depressed.
My biggest challenge of this role was putting emotions into the piece because I cannot really relate to the topic that we are dancing to and I am not a good dancer when it comes to dancing ballet but I still try to do my best. Honestly I have no idea what is my biggest accomplishment within this role, unless you count making it through this dance panel without give up due to my dance members not getting me involved a lot, because I felt like I have not affected my group in anyway

At first he did not think much about the relationship because he thought that it was just going to be like every other one he had and that they weren’t going to last a long time, but he gave her a chance. A year past when Alex started to realize that he actually liked Juliana, and now he was going to actually to try to be effort into the relationship. As time past, he slowly started to like the her more and more to the point where he couldn’t live a day without her. Until one day that he found out that Juliana was cheating on him with his best friend. Later on that day Juliana told him that she wanted to break up with him. Alex acted as if he didn’t know about her cheating on him, so he also agreed to break up with her but internally his heart was broke. This break up affected him in a bad way because he truly loved her with all his heart, and he lost his way since he did not have Juliana. He also started to blame her for his failures. He became depressed because she was the reason why he woke up every morning, why he had purpose in his life. After a week or so of being depressed he decided to start going to parties to try to distract himself from his depression and to try to get Juliana out of his mind, but internally he knew that going to parties was not going to work. Majority of time he came from a party, he would cry himself to sleep. The way my story is going to end

Hall and Waver ( 2001) defines Interprofessional as a group of professionals from different disciplines such as nurses, doctors, pharmacist that are working and communicating with each other while providing their knowledge, skills and attributes to enhance and support the contributions of others. Suter et al (2009) also said that the ability to work in an interprofessional team to convey collaborative, patient-centered care is an important aspect of professional practice that involves a possession of a particular set of competencies, such as communication skills. In relation to (Weinstein et al., 2003) Collaboration is the collection of knowledge, skills, values and motives which transforms to effective practice when applied by practitioners.
One incident in where I notice supportive group communication climate was when Olivia, Amanda, Nick and Fin needed to find Vicki. Once they found her they realized she was being pimped and they collaborated in how they were going to get Tre, the pimp. The way that this affected the group during its communication decision-making was by being able to effectively communicate and effectively come up with solution to their problem. On the other hand, one incident where I notice defensive group communication climate was when Fin and the other detectives were trying to interrogate Tre and Vicki. Tre and Vicki were both not having a open communication and most definitely not trusting no one. The way that this affected the group during its communication

“Helpful Tips for Collaboration in Group Work” provides an excellent template of what it looks like to be a part of something greater than one’s self. It articulates in writing things that I have discovered oftentimes through the hard way with things going wrong in group projects. Like many, I share the frustrations of doing 90% of the work in a group project, in my case it was building a lego robot in the 6th grade. My partner and I had a blast dreaming up the possibility of bringing a robot to class for a project about industrial technology, but that same passion was not transferred to the workload. I relate to being the domineering partner also, through many cultural presentation in the 9th grade where I insisted on controlling the direction of everything the group was doing. If my group members had only known how to use humor and directness as described in this article the group as a whole would of been much more productive. I discovered the importance of setting clear attendance expectations when members of the leadership team I was a part of did not consistently show up, and we did not know what to do because there were
The day was October 1, 2016 and the time was 9:45pm when I met Mama. Mama is a Caucasian lady in her mid-70s and lives with her daughter. I met Mama while visiting an old friend at their house and we connected immediately. I chose to interact with Mama because I plan to work with the elderly and children once I receive my Masters in Social Work. I felt like this was a great opportunity to conduct more research on this special population and determine if this is what I want to do in my career. I also chose this individual because Mama was extremely inviting. There were no barriers I experienced prior to approaching Mama.
Communication is a very important feature for groups. It helps members understand each other and explain themselves. Our group was strong in the communication field because we understood each other and gave every individual time to contribute ideas. The metaphor that we used was a brilliant collaboration by all four of us. One member insisted on using a rollercoaster as an example, it helped us get a totally different perspective on our topic. The members were of different countries and spoke different languages; however, they tried their best to express their opinions and experiences. The topic that my group chose was "Life in the United States", this topic was quite easy for us to talk about. Since all of us are international students,
Our small group project was quite effective because with the whole group effort, it made it easier for the team to complete a wide variety of tasks and it helped us establish meaningful connection with each other. Most importantly, it helped us build, and change our sense of self. The positive aspect of working in the small group is that all of our cultural uniqueness aided the group in a creative sense. Everyone in our group contributed equally, clearly presenting our case.
Communication Accommodation Theory (CAT) is an intergroup theory of interpersonal communication. Communication Accommodation Theory has sparked a great deal of research over the past five decades, with parallel and intersecting traditions of experimental, survey, and discourse-based research examining the dynamics of communication. Social distance plays a large role in our communicative lives and can be understood through two key concepts: convergence and divergence. Convergence refers to ways in which we can use communication to overcome forms of social distance. Depending on the specific communicative context, convergence can come in several ways, including identifiable metaphors, narratives, and anecdotes, or even nonverbal forms of communication, such as body
Being successful is always challenging as part of a group or team. There are number of reasons why this is challenging, such as a number of people involved and everyone’s cooperation, agreement, commitments, contribution, combined effort and shared values are required (McClean & Collins, 2011). Group work demands common goals and agreements, mutual understanding, more discussion which is sometime hard to manage to some extent (Détienne, 2006). Recently, I got the opportunity to become a part of MGT210 assessment group of four members. Personally, I feel that our group work was successful to some extent. We managed to develop relationship which is a criteria that indicates successful group work (Ismail Al-Alawi, Yousif Al-Marzooqi, & Fraidoon
The rise in social media usage leads to a drop in interpersonal communication. The lack of interpersonal relationships remains to be a focus of many research studies determining if this leaves social media users more or less connected to peers. One study compares the time spent on the Internet for communication purposes and non-communication purposes in regards to how this affects friendship quality (Selfhout, Branje, Delsing, Bogt, & Meeus, 2009). Results from this study find that the most depressive subjects recorded are from people who report low friendship quality and mainly use the Internet for non-communication purposes. Researchers also study whether the quality of existing friendships suffers due to the depressive nature of the participants

Rapport is a platform for a relationship, built through a middle ground connection. It is essential to build rapport with group members, in group work, to facilitate the task at hand. During the initial group meeting, I attempted to build rapport with members of my group to get to know them and their goals better. After the initial meeting concluded I had confidence in knowing that my group members and I had the abilities to work well together.
