"Something that my mother instilled in me, as a biracial women herself, and me being biracial, was that the world was going to view me as a black women no matter what I decided to do" (Copeland). Misty chose to attend the ABT Studios in the fall, she chose to study how the ABT dancers danced before she was a part of the actual production
This connects mostly to her dance life. Misty started off going to school and dancing in her living room, I can relate to this because I am a dancer and grew up dancing in the living room. She got to know everyone there as if they were second family, which is the way I put my studio as well. Later Misty’s family moved into a motel and as her dance career grew she moved in with her dance teacher, which is another reason how nothing can knock her down because doing that I imagine is very

There is a confident, driven woman in this world, although she was not always like that. She was once a young girl, a diffident and timid one: “I was a nervous child. And my unease, coupled with a perfect petual quest for perfect made my life much harder than it needed to be” (Copeland 18). Her name is Misty Copeland. A world changer is someone who uses the power they receive when accomplishing their goals to positively impact the world. They do this with strength and courage. Misty Copeland is a world changer because she worked hard to become the first African-American woman to become a Principal dancer at American Ballet Theatre and strives for others to do the same.
