t is good to repeat the past. I do believe that it is good to repeat the past because you get to learn from your mistakes. Learning from the past can be the best for the future. For an example, you got in trouble for talking during class and you got in trouble for it, you wouldn’t do it again because you remember the past, you wouldn’t talk because you know you would get in trouble. Another example, the 9/11 terrorist attack, the reason why that horrific event happened was because the security at the airports weren’t on high alert all the time, today the security in airports are always on high alert because of the past, we learned from our mistakes. From my personal experience i’ve learned from the past to benefit my future because, I used
A previous leader of mine once told me that a good man learns from his mistakes, but a great man learns from the mistakes of others. I would like to add to that by saying I do believe you should learn from others, but I also think what makes a great man is teaching others about the mistakes you have made. God knows I have made plenty of mistakes in my career and life, but I have learned from each one of those mistakes, and that is what has made me the man I have become today.
History also helps prepare one to face the future, so one does not repeat the same mistakes. The quote “History cannot give us a program for the future, but it can give us a fuller understanding of ourselves and of our common humanity, so that we can better face the future” explains that history is not something one can program and plan out. History is information of events of what happened such as, how one’s background and places came to be, so one does not have to question life and the world. History also helps one by revealing important information that can be used to help improve the future. For example, 9/11 was a terrible event that had happened in 2001. People use that piece of information and make a better future. After the event, the security of airports and the military was improved drastically to prevent the mistakes from happening again. If the same mistake were to happened again, money and time would be wasted to recover the damages and many people will lose their lives. The quote means one cannot program and plan out history for the future, but history can be used as information to understand the world and improve the
I feel awkward answering this question because I have made many mistakes and there isn’t anything good out of those mistakes. In my opinion, wrong decisions never bring anything positive. Wrong decisions decrease morale and self-esteem. At a young age, mistakes or wrong decisions don’t affect much, but as you get older wrong decisions can have a tremendous negative impact. There aren’t second chances for people who make wrong decisions. I know that deep down below the surface mistakes can bring opportunities to learn and improve ourselves, but in this rapidly changing and moving world, there isn’t time to reflect and learn from those mistakes. If wrong decisions brought opportunities for learning and personal improvement, many
As you grow older, you also become wiser, and the way you used to look at things also changes, and even though you regret your former actions, you will have to live with how it turned out, instead of being stuck in the past and how it could had been.
People can learn a lot of things from the past. As time go though the past gives us a lesson to learn. History is one of the important element that taught and inspire people to do great thing compare to the past. History taught us beliefs, values, and different traditions of a culture, even architecture had an influence by the past project. From the very beginning of architecture, people started to build a little tent using branch and stone. After that people start to build column to support the building. One of the examples that has shown the architecture had learn from the past is the acropolis of Athens and the white house at Washington D.C.
If there is one reason for a student to attend a history class, it is that he can learn from the mistakes
“Right actions for the future are the best apologies for wrong ones in the past” written by Tyron Edwards. Sometimes changing your behavior is the only way to make up for a past, because you learn what are right actions, and what are wrong actions.
It is always good to learn from your mistakes. Sometimes mistakes can be considered good things because it lets a person change how they do something and that there could be many ways for doing one task.
“We should not look back unless it is to derive useful lessons from past errors, and for the purpose of profiting by dearly bought experience.”
For instance, a lesson learned from 9/11, was that when tragedy strikes, you must accept and remember what has happened, and then move forward with your life. This teaches people to not only move on, but to look at the positives in life as well. With that being said, it is also still important to remember the thoughts and emotions felt during the tragedy. It is common that today many people do not have a clear memory of a specific event because it gets altered as the years pass. That is why it is essential to remember the tragedy, accept that it has happened, and then move onwards.
Knowledge of the past helps us learn from mistakes people made, keep the people who will protect our future in power, and make better
No matter what time period it’s been, humans have always been learning from our past and thinking about the future. Examining past helps us to remember where we came from and daydream about what could’ve been if we had made a different decision or chose a different path. Contemplating our future makes us think outside of the box to lead us to wonder what we could be and how we could be better. I am more interested in lessons of the past because I like studying previous years to figure out how past mistakes can help us fix the future. I would choose to learn from New York in 1776, so I could learn more about the ideas surrounding the American Revolution.
Someone's past can really affect a person in many ways. The past can make the person that they are right now, and they can change through experiences, decisions, and personal thoughts. People tend to learn from their personal experiences and they learn from them so they don't make the same mistake in the future.
We’ve all had those days where we have made stupid mistakes, but is there any way we could learn from those mistakes? An individual can learn by their mistakes from the past by becoming wiser and by being a better person.
