Imagine saving a citizen’s life from dangerous and corrupt criminals. That is exactly what a police officer is there to do. A police officer is the person that someone calls when they are in distressful situations they are not capable of handling. Police officers then respond and deal with the citizen’s problem. Police officers have numerous amounts of duties. They also have to serve and protect the public from criminals. I recognize myself to be observant, generous and protective person, the career path I have chosen is a police officer. I plan on going to a two year college to study business administration, then, once I turn twenty-one, I will apply to the police academy. ISFJ are empathize to be protectors. Words that describe an ISFJ is self-sufficient, obedient and spectator“ Protectors have an extraordinary sense of loyalty and responsibility” (“Keirsey.com's - Temperament and Your Career.”). ISFJ can have a lot of negative downsides to their personality. Words that describe the negative side of this personality is “timid”,“easily offended” and “prone to cry”(“ISFJ - Jung Type Descriptions.”). I determine for the most part these personality type does match me except for some negative parts. In all honesty, I do not get offended, nor do I cry a lot. Police officers daily basis duties are to “gather facts and evidence, enforce the laws, and patrol around the town”, but these are only some of the duties ( “Summary.”,U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics”).Police officers have to be accountable for a lot of paperwork Police officers must master how to write properly, so they can write detailed victims and eyewitness reports.Police officers serve and helps the public when they are in need of help.This job is considered to be a physical and stressful. Police officers are more likely to work long twelve hour shifts, but an officer can be called at any time of day or night because of the public. The level of education to become a police officer is a high school diploma. But police officers have to complete a police academy.“Most police and detectives must graduate from their agency’s training academy before completing a period of on-the-job training. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, usually at least 21 years old, and able to meet rigorous physical and personal qualification standards.” (“Summary.”,U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics”). The equipment a police officer uses in the line of action is “gun, taser, protective gloves, first aid kit, notebook and evidence bags”(“Crime Scene Investigation: Guides for Law Enforcement.” National Institute of Justice”).The starting salary for a police officer is about $45,000.00 dollars.
