The Isonomy party are a left leaning party and align ourselves with the ideologies and policies of both the democratic and green party’s. We firmly believe in the government taking on more of an involved role in the lives of the people and providing equal opportunities and rights to all people. We believe all women have the right to decide what to do with their body’s and support the pro-choice movement, we are in favor of increasing the number of immigrants and refugees that enter this country annually, we believe the government should begin regulating business practices as to not further harm the environment, we believe in stricter regulations for those wanting to acquire a gun, we believe all people have a right to a higher education, no
Equality is what everyone thinks about when it comes to America, equal opportunity that is available to each citizen. Millions of people throughout history and throughout the United States have fought for equality through many different groups, whether it be through a war or boycott. The idea of equality has changed drastically over the years changing what is accepted and what isn’t. The declaration of independence is a document that has held the idea of everyone has access to the inalienable rights of humans. Women are a prime example of a group that has fought for equality for decades. They’ve been managing and hosting women’s rights conventions for many years, rallying women as well as men in order to support their cause. One specifically that they’ve been hosting for a long time is the one in Seneca Falls, NY. They’ve actually set up the “Declaration of Sentiments” (Doc A) essentially adding
Many people have different opinions on political subjects. The ways a person may feel about these subjects determine what they are in the political world. I personally do not follow politics like other people older than me do, but I do consider myself to be a moderate democrat. Both of my parents are democrats, and they choose to be of this political spectrum because they feel like the Democratic Party represents them. They feel as they stand for policies that will better them as people. With me, I am my own person so I take in the considerations of my parents’ choice, but also make my own decisions. I do believe in some of the policies and ideas of the Democratic Party, but disagree on
“The Stolen Party” by Liliana Heker is a short story about a girl’s life experience that changes her point of view on society. One day, she gets an invitation to a rich daughter’s birthday. Her mother is a maid and works for them. Rosaura’s youth and innocence shows that she doesn’t realize the true meaning of the invitation, and firmly believes that there is no social distinction between the rich and the poor. She believes that even if she is the maid’s daughter she is welcomely accepted in the party. Although she is only nine years old, Rosaura feels confident that she knows more about rich people than her mother. Heker uses symbols and figurative language to convey “to always
Desperation can push people to do things they normally wouldn’t such as lying, stealing, or eating your family. The Donner Party in particular knows the woes of desperation all too well. The Donner Party consisted of 89 Illinoisans who started their journey to California in April of 1846. The expedition was led by two wealthy brothers named George and Jacob Donner. Initially, the group followed reliable trail to follow a supposedly shorter route given to them by the young and unethical lawyer named Lansford Hastings. Lansford went ahead, promising to mark the trail for them. Upon reaching Weber Canyon, they found a note from Lansford stating that the trail was much more strenuous than he thought, and to make camp until he could return to show them a better way. After waiting eight days without an answer, the party sent a messenger to Hastings. He said to follow a different route. What he had not disclosed, however, was that this route had not yet been traveled. The Donners had to carve a fresh road through trees and rocks. The Donners eventually arrived at the Great Salt Lake, but not without paying a price. Their lost time cost them 18 days, causing them to become trapped high in the
350-400 miles off their planned trip. It seemed to be a good idea to follow
Peace, love, equality, the environment, and global unity are all interests of the Green Party. They abolish the death penalty and consider the government to have cruel and unusual punishment. They are oppose the death penalty citing racial bias, failure to deter crime, widespread errors, and humanitarian objections. When it comes to the Military, the Green Party believes in demilitarizing. Demilitarization is the reduction of the Military which involves the reduction of the army, weapons, and military vehicles. An interesting fact about demilitarization is that it is usually the result or outcome of a major conflict or a peace treaty ending a war. Moving on, abortion is believed to be a choice among the pregnant mothers. The Green Party support full access to abortion, with funding, for all women in the U.S. and around the world.
I believe that people should be allowed to buy guns; however, there needs to background checks. Convicts should not be allowed to buy guns nor should non-citizens. I believe that abortion is murder of a child and a baby’s life begins at conception. I do not believe the earth is getting warmer I believe that it is the cycles of the seasons and time.
The Populist party was a third party of the 1890s formed to fight for the rights of working people. This party was largely made up of farmers. There were several reasons why this party was formed. By the beginning of the 1880s, millions of farmers had found themselves trapped under the mountains of debt that they couldn’t get out of. There were various causes of why this happened with these farmers.
NARAL Pro-Choice America and Texas Right to Life Committee are the interest groups that support abortion. They will support for my campaign as my issue is also about right to abortion. They all talk about the women’s right to choose what they want to do. It’s their right to choose whether to do abortion or not. We have focused on the private decision rather than that of public decision. As a representative, I will focus on the laws and regulation that should be implemented to get the pro-choice of women’s freedom; mostly in case of legal abortion. I will fight against the obstacles that stop this women’s freedom policy. Furthermore, our campaign enhances the equal protection law for all human beings regardless of their age, or physical and mental competence. These are the reasons, that they will support my campaign.
The Party is Over by Mike Lofgren goes undercover to reveal what politics is like behind the screen. I believe this book was more for criticizing the GOP and Republicans that the Democrats. The GOP and Republicans are a lot different in politics now than they were decades ago. The book talks about how the Republicans are against the government, how Republicans are anti-science and anti-intellectual, and also how they view religious rights. All of these lead to problems with politics. The Democrats were brought up than the Republicans, but were still mentioned. They too did some damage in today’s politics. This book informs us on how the Republicans went crazy and Democrats became useless, and how it’s become a problem.
The Party began simply as an online petition written by Ms. Bloss, which quickly went viral after co-founder Steve Poikonen wrote an article and published it on The Morning Nightcap. Mr. Poikonen states, “Her vision was simple, eloquent, and absolutely right the hell on time: Let’s build a coalition of Democrats and Progressives who feel their party has left them in the wilderness. Let’s bring in the Green Party folks who have worked so hard for so long only to find themselves locked out of the national conversation. Let’s bring in Independents who
They scream at Congress to legalize abortion in all states. The thousands of women that die from back alley abortions and suicide because they have no access to abortion clinics are unnecessary deaths. They also provide hard facts and statistics showing the legalization of abortion lowers crime rates, is safer than natural pregnancy, and has little to no side effects (physiological or psychological) on the woman undergoing the procedure. They want to make sure every woman has the choice, whether it is to remain abstinent, legally abort, or keep her child. Rape and incest are strong focal points of the pro-life mission statement. No woman should be forced to go through 9 months of pregnancy if it is not her choice to do so.
A small amount of the core ideals of libertarians has changed. According to the current Libertarian Party website; “We seek a world of liberty; the world in which all individuals are sovereign over their own lives and no one is forced to sacrifice his or her values for the benefit of others.” This party is notorious for values that are socially liberal, and economically conservative. This platform has also been referred to as neoliberalism. The United States Libertarian party focuses on personal liberty, self-ownership, privacy, economic liberty, free markets, protected environments, strong national defense, and minimal war actions. The LP is supportive of gay rights, gun rights, pro-life ideals. They stand against labor unions; universal health care, restricted markets, government surveillance of citizens, and government provided security. Libertarians like to think of themselves as defensive whenever it comes to foreign policy, and to refrain from attacking unless they are
My political party will be called that Farooqs and on the U.S. political scale my party will vary depending on the issues, most of the stances of Farooqs are toward the left while some are a bit more right winged. On education that Farooqs believe that education should start as early as possible, so we will support the instatement of a program that creates schools for children as early as at the age of 2, in an educational daycare facility. This will not only boost the economy, because it will allow parents to work, but it will also nurture the bright young minds of tomorrow. The Farooqs believe that education should not cost money; it is an investment into the future of our country so we will work to make education free. In comparison with some other developed countries, the U.S. currently has some of the lowest educational standards and to repair them we must start education early on and instate free education for all. The Farooqs believe in reforming standardized testing because the current procedures for standardized testing are not reflective of a student’s college preparedness. We believe that a student should not be hindered from pursuing education due to their financial status, and similarly should not be denied opportunities because of the financial status of their parents at the time of their birth. We support gun control. While our founding fathers did make the right to bear arms one of our constitutional rights we cannot stand behind every decision they made, as a lot of their decisions are decisions we would not agree with today (such as slavery). A lot of the laws that have been implemented in recent years would not correspond with the ideas of our founding fathers. They lived in different times than we did, and they did not have the technology we have today. The function of a gun is to kill. If self defense necessitates some form of protection then there are always security alarms, tasers, pepper sprays, etc. A taser is an excellent alternative to
The Youth International party was an American activism group, born out of the anti-war movement, concerned with civil rights. The Youth International Party has also been referred to as Yippies, who are now known for their theatrical style of collective action during the sixties. The group mainly consisted of hippies, counterculture revolutionist, political workers, and activists. The Yippies harbored collective action by using elements of performance to demonstrate their cause. In 1967 to 1968, Yippies constructed multiple street demonstrations in protest of the United States military involvement in the Vietnam War. The group was founded by Abbie Hoffman and Jerry Rubin, two men that became a symbol for radical activism. The group was founded by the two activist in 1968.
