When speaking of this grading scale, you can easily compare it to the academics of ivy league schools. Students are highly compettive and unwilling to give a helping hand, thus creating a environment of subtle hostility. This policy eliminates a sense of community because its every man for himself. The grading scale is very secrative and causes workers to have a heighten sense of curiosity. Some employees will take extreme measures to ensure that they are being treated equally. To eliminate hostility in the workplace there must be transperancy. Overall its a good method, but not when its secrative. Also in regards to newer employees being promoted before the older ones, we must understand that many factors play a role in this decision making.

It all started in 1945 when the eight aforementioned colleges and universities formed a union called “Ivy group agreement”. As the inventor of the term, the name Stanley Woodward comes up, who wrote in 1933 about the “Ivy Colleges”. That name simply comes from the fact that the old buildings are for the most part overgrown with ivy. That union was originally formed for football purposes only. According to the Ivy League website “it [affirmed] the observance of common practices in academic standards and eligibility requirements and the administration of need-based financial aid, with no athletic scholarships.” In 1954 the union was extended to all intercollegiate sports. But the championships and competitions that were held during the time
Historically Black College Universities (HBCU) have been attracting African American people for years with their high quality education, great history, and amazing band. However, over time the requirements have changed to attend. HBCU’s are colleges that can relate to the african american students, help them grow as individuals, and become more knowledgeable about their culture. HBCU’s are predominantly black schools, but in the recent years the schools have integrated. Now that these schools are becoming more diverse, it gives the school no unique quality. HBCU’s should become a part of the state university system, due to the ways they are conforming to the ways of other colleges.
It is the ethical duty of a university to recruit student athletes not only to succeed in sports but to also provide a college education that will make them successful after graduation. Creighton University failed in fulfilling this duty by recruiting and admitting a student athlete that scored in the bottom fifth percentile of college – bound seniors who took the ACT. Kevin Ross filed suit against Creighton University for negligence and breach of contract for their failure to properly educate him. After reading Ross’ case, I question what is the definition of a student – athlete in the NCAA. Ross was admitted to Creighton in spite of being far below the level of an average Creighton student. Once his four years were up, he had the overall language skills of a fourth grader. What happened to the college education that was owed to Ross? Creighton had every intention of recruiting a

Waiting for a college acceptance letter from the school of your dreams can feel like an eternity. The moment that letter stamped with the university's sticker, is almost as if it's a wish come true. Harvard University, one of the most competitive schools to get into, recently admitted a group of students who not only took their acceptances for granted, but abused the resources provided from social media to meet other admitted students. These young men created a group chat on Facebook filled with horrifically offensive memes in which they believed were funny jokes. Once this chat was found, Harvard’s Admissions Office took actions with the justifiable repercussions of rescinding their admissions from the members
