During this series of events it can be deemed that Jacob is an unreliable narrator through the unrealistic events, and because Jacob can be declared delusional. Jacob can be declared delusion, because he is currently ninety years old, experiencing memory loss, and taking medicine. For instance, a week earlier Jacob’s family came to visit and he did not know who they were, “I didn’t know them. I faked it, though- when they made their way toward me and I realized it was me they had come to see, I smiled” (Gruen 218). Sara Gruen implies that the reader should be questioning what Jacob is saying when he claims that he is walking out of the nursing home because even Jacob says, “Nobody seems to think it odd that an old man is standing in his slippers

Now that Job’s interview was over. It was time was Jacob to share his story with Maxwell. When Jacob enter the room to tell his story. Maxwell could not help, but notice the height of Jacob. He looked to be a tall, strong man, with broad shoulders and thick muscular limbs. Before, he began his interview Jacob clarified his different identity to Maxwell. He stated “I have been known by many names: heel catcher, deceiver, father of the tribes. My favorite name is the one God Himself gave me: Israel. The name I received at birth from my father and mother is Jacob” (Maxwell, 2014, p. 49).
Jacob and his wives' relationship depends on the woman because he loves Rachel and Leah in a different way to show what they do for him. While the other two are just for child birth or as a duty as Jacob described it. There relationship would be affected if Jacob found out about their polytheistic religion because he only wants them follow to his monotheistic religion and no other because he could punished them for not following his orders. It is true that there is jealousy between the wives because they all sleep with the same man. However, that jealousy is gone once Rachel has her own son and she doesn't have to be jealous of Leah's ten births because she finally received her own.
Although Joseph is commonly identified as Jacob’s firstborn with Rachel, He was actually the eleventh of Jacob’s sons. “Now the sons of Jacob were twelve: the sons of Leah were Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn, and Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun; the sons of Rachel were Joseph and Benjamin: the sons of Bilhah, Rachel’s maidservant, were Dan and Naphtali; and the sons of Zilpah, Leah’s maidservant, were Gad and Asher.” (Genesis 35: 22-26) So, Reuben was Jacob’s firstborn; yet, he lost his birthright by committing fornication with his father’s concubine. Nonetheless, God built the Jewish nation from that dysfunctional family.
Riedner and Efros (1995) stressed that “nonorganic hearing loss signals that not all is right with the child” (p. 197). Unfortunately, there are cases where the child falsifies a hearing loss because help is needed. A study conducted by Riedner and Efros (1995) looked at three
Levi Jacob came to my class as a requirement. All juniors in the state of Missouri must take Government and I was pleased to have a student that excited to discuss topic, learn more, and challenge the knowledge being present to him. Unfortunately, Levi had trouble in high school, mainly with attendance. I view this as a lack of interest or he experienced a level of boredom in many of his courses. I feel if give the change to explore topics of his interest that Levi would flourish in college. He was one of my favorite students. His writing was superior to many in the course and when assignment were turned in on time they were
The novel “Defending Jacob” by William Landay is a legal thriller which makes you want to keep reading. Even though the beginning chapters are a little slow, it picks up from there on. I realized that from the beginning I thought Jacob was innocent because he was a quiet kid who didn't show any signs of possibly murdering someone. Since Andy barber was jacob’s father it was hard for him to realize that his son was a murderer until after Hope's death. Also I think Andy thought that because of his father's past, it was occurring in Jacob. I think Andy knew that if Jacob was the murderer that would cost him his reputation as a successful assistant district attorney, so andy personally couldn't accept the possibility of his son being a murderer.
