Her name is Jane Fortier. It is the year of 1965. Jane is an eighteen year old girl living in Hartford Vermont and going to Hartford High School. She lives in a rural town where each family has two working parents. Jane walks to school everyday. But, the walk is three miles each way. The school bus doesn’t pick kids up unless they live more than ten miles away. Jane makes the trek all the way in her high heels to her sixty person grade and her less than three hundred kid school. But, why does she do this? Jane is a smart girl. She loves her teacher, Mr. Hooper who teaches english. She also likes math. Math is her favorite subject. But, she doesn’t love math because it involves numbers or she has to work out problems. She loves math because it is easy, and her teachers all say that she needs to take harder math classes. Math is like a few other classes in her school. English, Home Economics, History, and Science all have something in common with math. They are all required. Even though there …show more content…
Lunch, also known as gossip time. Yes, Jane can do homework during lunch, but that is not what she uses it for. Unlike all of the boys, who talk about football and other sports, Jane and her friends gossip about all of the news going on. They talk about couples, new kids, and the girls they dislike. The topic is usually about the latter. The girls. They talk about how the girls are arrogant and mean. These are usually the girls that think they are popular but aren’t. These girls always talk about how pretty and smart they are. Although lunches are her favorite part of the day, her favorite days are the nights that they have school dances. The dances aren’t anything special, the girls dance together on fast songs but not slow ones. But, the girls also dance with the boys. The music is the popular music at the time and everyone have smiles on their faces, including the teachers that are told to chaperone for the

Donna LaVonna Bergner is an 88-year-old woman who goes on long jogs in the mornings, dives off of boats in the afternoon and stays awake past midnight. Her age doesn’t defy her and she is the most extraordinary woman I have ever met in my life. She lived through the Great Depression, her husband fought in World War II and she also raised seven kids. I have the great privilege of seeing Donna LaVonna multiple days of every summer and even on some holidays. When I see her, she is always in a swimsuit, old-fashioned work out clothes or either very dressed up attire. She is a very odd duck but she has been through more experiences than anyone else that I have ever met and I am very grateful for the lessons that she is able to teach.

I have learned a lot about Kris’s sharing his life of being LGBT member, and it was first time to meet in person who’s member of LGBT group. Kris talked about a lot of challenges and discriminations that LGBT people face, not only other people but their own families. I think discriminations against LGBT people won’t make us or them better, everyone wanted to love and loved for what they are or believe, if that’s what they say they are let them be. I think is very hard to feel unwelcome in your family, schools, jobs and many more places. I am Muslim and I believe god don’t make no mistakes, but we humans make mistakes and we shouldn’t be judging each other. A lot of people disagree about their different beliefs, but at the same time they respect

It is worth nothing that “Every cause produces more than one effect,” (Spencer). In like manner my grandmother’s selfless acts of compassion left lifelong effects on every individual she encountered. Beatrice Strong was a backbone of her family and the community: She supported us by working two full time jobs, she volunteered in her church, and sojourned the elderly in nursing homes. Her love and support have helped me and my family conquer the inevitable. She managed to instill positivity in everyone who knew her. Not only was she an amazing role model, she was a hardworking woman who believed “Happiness does not come through selfishness, but through selflessness.”
