LOCATION: 396 Jefferson
TYPE OF INCIDENT: Shooting
Case Number: 16-40349 According to a Lt. Shawn Mayo of the Billings Police Department, Police officers responded to a 911 call that reported a weapons complaint at the intersection of Jefferson and Kratz street.

While en-route to the shooting police officers were informed that a white male had fired 5 of 6 rounds in front of the corner house (396 Jefferson) and three vehicles had fled the area.

Officers arrived on scene, and located shell casings in the street at the listed location. At the same time officers were informed a male and a female had sought medical attention at Billings Clinic for gunshot wounds.

According to several witnesses, they heard more than just a few guns shots being fired.

Not only was there a white male who was seen holding and firing a hand pistol, also a black male with Dreadlocks quickly drove away from the scene in a red vehicle. That man lives behind Jefferson on Monroe Street. Witness told the Montana News that this black man drives back and forth all the time on Jefferson street.

The people that live in the house at 396 Jefferson, are a young couple that have 5 children ages from junior high down.

The night of the shooting there were as many as 8-10 people either at the house or in front of the house on the street (396) Jefferson Street.

According to Tonya Ludwig who lives 1 house down from 396 Jefferson, the people that were living in 396 Jefferson are renting only, and just moved in about 2 weeks ago.

Other witnesses stated that this was not just over drugs, but a disagreement also. The bullet holes in the van and the house reveal that a large caliber hand gun was used. It appears based on eye witness accounts that only one gun was actually fired and used, however more than two guns were
