This short story it talks about Jerry Rice, and how he used imagery. Jerry said that they could get into the other teams heads by just warming up before a game. Jerry also said that he used imagery/example to help players on his team. He would show up to special teams meeting when he wasn’t on them, and he was the first one to practice last one to leave. The 49ers’s also took practice seriously like it was a game.
In the short story, “Seventh Grade” by Gary Soto, Victor is the hero. Victor struggles to make Teresa “his girl.” Victor plans out how to attract Teresa. However, he makes many failures to impress Teresa and embarrasses himself. In the text, it states, “Mr. Bueller asked if anyone knew French. Victor wanted to impress Teresa so much that he did something that he didn’t know how to do, such as speaking French. Victor affects the conflict of the short story. Victor is determined, amiable, and hopeful. He started to take action to accomplish his goal. In the text, it states, “He [Victor] wanted to leave when she [Teresa] did
From making $35,000,000 as a professional NFL player for the Baltimore Ravens, to making less than $35,000 as an assistant football coach at his former high school, Ray Rice has had a tough life filled with many ups and downs. Ray Rice is a former NFL running back and was the face for the Baltimore Ravens. He played a total of 6 seasons for the Ravens, before being released by the Ravens when he was involved in a fight that became too physical with his then-fiancee. A tragic hero is a person who makes a judgment error, which leads to his/her own ruination. Ray Rice is a tragic hero because he had a successful career but lost everything when his arrogance got the best of him.
There are many NFL players that excel in their position and people think that the are one of the best players. Out of all these players, a specific one stands out brighter than the others. One early morning Cosmo Cosma walked outside into the damp, foggy air, where he had noticed his basketball idol, Timmy Turner, appeared out of the misty, white fog. His favorite player in the world just appeared, and Cosmo was mystified by his vision. Cosmo had started trudging towards Timmy because he heard his voice calling him in a captivating tone, and once he had begun his process towards Timmy, his idol gradually begun to evaporate into mid air. When Cosmo had seen the development begin he had rapidly begun to sprint towards Timmy, when he suddenly had been awoken from his hypnotic state because of luminous, golden lights materialized from the fog. The mesmerizing lights turned out to be his friend Jorgen Von Strangle, who had come to pick up Cosmo for their Saturday morning basketball practice.
The story named “Seventh Grade” was written by Gary Soto. The theme of the story is the common experience of a boy’s embarrassment while trying to impress a girl. Today, my essay is about Victor’s positive and negative consequences while trying to get the girl of his dreams, Teresa. I’m also in the seventh grade but not experiencing embarrassment by trying to impress a girl. While listing the consequences, I must talk about what I would’ve done if I was in Victor’s shoes. I will first list the positive consequences. First is “Does Victor has a chance to make Teresa his girl?” and “Is Victor going to like seventh grade?”. Next I will list the negative consequences. While in French class, Victor lied about him speaking French, and in Language

The internal conflict of the protagonist of this short story, Jerry, expresses the author’s message for the reason that it is his fear that convince him to accomplish his objective. When the “big boys” left the bay to get away from him, “[Jerry [knows] he must find his way through that [...] tunnel, and out the other side. […] Jerry exercise[s] his lungs as if everything, the whole of his life, all that he could become, depended upon it]” (4). After his bad experience with the group of adolescents, Jerry feels childish and weak, so he needs to prove to himself he is strong enough to swim through the tunnel and come out of it alive. It is so important for the English boy that he doesn’t hesitate to risk everything, including his life. One day,
Growing up with parents who are immigrants can present many obstacles for the children of those immigrants. There are many problems people face that we do not even realize. Things happen behind closed doors that we might not even be aware of. Writers Sandra Cisneros and Amy Tan help us become aware of these problems. Both of these authors express those hardships in their stories about growing up with foreign parents. Although their most apparent hardships are about different struggles, both of their stories have a similar underlying theme.

The event thta im writing about took place in the late 1960’s into the early 1970’s.Alot of things were going on in america in these years like how the 60’s were dominated by the vietnam war and the civil rights protests. The 60’s also saw the assasination of president John F Kennedy and Martin LUther king. But ended ona good note when the first man landed on the moon. The 1960’s is way different from today I guess you can say because back in the 1960’s not everyone had the same rights. Like back then the racist opion was very prevelent but today there is hardly any signs of racism exept a few and is full of diversity. Another different thing is back in the 60’s technology was still new like tv’s and computers not much people had them and now a days almost every American family has one.
Ready to step in for anyone at any time, Zendaya watches on the sideline cheering on her teammates. It is the sixth inning, tie game, and her best friend Nadia is up to bat. She managed to get a finger on the plate before the catcher got the tag on her. The catcher
