A significant educational opportunity that was offered to me during my High School career is a job working at Warehouse Shoe Sale or WSS. My experience working there helped me to face responsibility and enabled me to realize that I have excellent skills in following directions and completing tasks. Prior to working, I didn't know if I was even going to be able finish high school, let alone get a job. My job experience, however, made me think differently. Being able to witness people at work, who were not as smart as I am, who were making more money than me, really opened my eyes. I realized that if I put my mind to it, I could be successful and earn a lot of money. The job experience influenced me to finish high school, as well as provided me the inspiration to continue on and attend college. Describe the most challenge you have faced and the steps you have taken to overcome this challenge. How has this challenge affected your academic achievement?
I personally have been exposed to several opportunities merely because my parents could pay for me to do so. I went to a competitive private school where I was given the opportunity to travel and experience different cultures fist handedly. I have been allowed the opportunity to continue on to post secondary education without having the stress of being in debt after I graduate. As a child, I was enrolled in different sports and activities which allowed me to have new experiences and develop a passion for
When I think of a significant challenge, the thing which stands out in my mind is one of the biggest change in my life which was moving to the United States. I was in 11th grade in Pakistan before I migrated to the U.S. I had to retake that grade. I felt bad to be one year behind, but later I started to participate actively in all my classes, but the change of the type of study was the biggest obstacle in my way to get educated and be successful. There are many differences between the education here and the one in Pakistan. There were a series of challenges I faced after settling into the school like meeting new people and getting along with them. Because I was shy, it was hard for me to get along with others whom I didn’t even know. I knew

5. Describe the most significant challenge you have faced and the steps you have taken to overcome this challenge. How has this challenge affected your academic achievement?
The biggest challenge for me this year was doing my work thoroughly. While on the surface this may seem like something that should be easy, for me it was the first year I was really unable to get away with only giving 75% effort on my work. The assignment that really got me to understand this was an active reading assignment we had early in the school year. When we got into class we were told to define the word “affectation”. While I had read over the article I had not taken the time to define every word and got a 0/5. This assignment was my abyss because of the fact that I missed points that I could have easily received had I spent just another 30 seconds to completely finish my homework. The majority of my challenges occurred after my abyss. A major challenge for me came in my writing. At the beginning of the year I did not realize how important it was to truly stick to the writing process and take time with my writing. In past years I had been able to get away with occasionally drifting off topic during my writing and it took me a while to understand how exactly to approach a paper. Throughout the year I went through a transformation in my writing. After a few writing assignment I began to understand how to approach a paper and my writing has grown since. This year in humanities has left me with a gift. Through Humanities I learned a couple things that I will take away with me and use not just for the rest of highschool but for the rest of my life. One thing I took away was how to approach my work. When facing a large assignment it is important to not be intimidated and procrastinate starting your work. While the first few days of such an assignment can be challenging if you focus and knock out parts of the assignment slowly and concisely the end result of your work will be much better and your last few days doing the assignment will be far less
Whether you attend college or go immediately into the workforce, many recognize the amazing opportunities college has to offer its students. In high school, high school opens doors for college. In college, college unlocks opportunities for your future. Statics show that past graduates who obtain a college diploma can get a job, maintain their jobs, and they get paid more than someone who did not attend or finish school. Also, well paying jobs tend to take care of their employees. For example, higher paying jobs give their employees more benefits and vacation time: to stay healthy and well-rested. So they perform better on the job. Low paying jobs do not have to have many benefits because, they can replace employees at their leisure. Those who do not fulfill their education requirements, always have to settle for second place to someone who did spend the time to be experienced and qualified with a degree.
When I was younger, both my mother and father would do their best to explain the importance of education for a better future, and at a very young age I did my very best to understand. In high school there was a certain eminence to having a job and I was able to enjoy that towards the end of high school; however it quickly changed as I entered the ranks of adulthood. Working at a family restaurant was an interesting experience for me, but it did not compare to what it was like working as a CAPS youth leader it taught me to be independent and valuable lessons I will be able to use throughout life.

They are both in kindergarten.
Describe the most significant challenge you have faced and the steps you have taken to overcome this challenge. How has this challenge affected your academic achievement?
The most significant challenge I have faced was balancing my academics and sports. I have been involved in the boy's soccer program at Palm Desert High School since my freshman year and each season has proven to be a test for me academically. I must say that attempting to balance my school work and soccer during my freshman and sophomore year has taken a toll on my academic achievement. It is unfortunate, however, I learned many things that will benefit me in the future. It was difficult because stress and anxiety amounted on top of all the school work and assignments that needed to be completed with the little time I had in my hands. Each season lasted around four months and during those four months, I accumulated bad habits. I procrastinated
