Hello, Jury i'm here to prove to you Johnny Cade is guilty for the murder of Robert Sheldon. On a Saturday night at 2:30 am Johnny and his close friend Pony-boy Curtis state that they were at the park when Robert and his 5 other friends came to their “territory” drunk. That's when one of Robert’s friend David gets Pony-boy and started drowning him by a water fountain nearby the park. Then, Pony-boy was about to drown when Johnny comes from the back and stabs Robert and that's when Robert’s friends saw and left running. So, Jury the thing that i did not understand is why did Johnny stab Robert if he want the one drowning Pony-boy? As I was saying, I Cynthia Gonzalez here to prove Johnny guilty for the murder of Robert Sheldon. Johnny's says that he got jumped from Robert and his friends really badly not very long ago. So, what I think lead to this murder was Johnny wanted revenge. So, ever since Johnny got jumped he started carrying a 6 inch blade in his pocket. Also, Jury I don’t think 16 year old kids are not allowed to have blades in their pockets especially 6 inch or any kind. …show more content…
Robert and his friend Randy were going to go watch a movie in the drive-in with their girlfriends Sherri Valance and Marcia but they didn’t want to because they were drunk. Robert and Randy left Sherri and Marcia at the drive-in. That’s when they met both Pony-boy and Johnny. Then, when the movie was over they needed someone to walk home with so Two-bit, Johnny and Pony-boy were walking with them when Robert and his friends pass by with their mustang and get of the car and told sorry to Sherri and Marcia then Two-bit got in the conversation and broke a bottle and wanted to fight with them but then Sherri said she told them to stop and they
Bob and his gang had Ponyboy and Johnny surrounded, with nowhere to go and nothing to do except wait. Then, Johnny makes a sudden move while Ponyboy is drowning. Johnny has killed Bob, and then runs away with Ponyboy. It is a fact that Johnny Cade is innocent of murder because he was defending himself and Ponyboy and his past experience with Bob and his gang clouded his judgement.
Ponyboy is restricted to bed rest for a week after he wakes up after the brawl and Dally’s death. He finds a picture of Bob the Soc in Sodapop’s high school yearbook. Bob’s smile reminds him of Sodapop’s and concludes that Bob was cocky, hot-tempered, frightened, and human. Randy arrives at the house to talk to Ponyboy and does not think about Pony’s feelings They talk about the hearing scheduled for the next day. Ponyboy deliriously says that he killed Bob himself and that Johnny is still alive. Darry asks Randy to leave. After the hearing, Ponyboy becomes detached and depressed. Mr. Syme, Ponyboy’s English teacher, says that Ponyboy is failing and he can raise his grade to a C by writing an outstanding theme on a topic of his choice. The next day at lunch, Ponyboy goes to the grocery store with Steve and Two-Bit for candy bars and Cokes and they almost get into a fight with some Socs. Ponyboy threats them with a broken glass bottle, which worries Steve and Two-Bit. They are relieved when Ponyboy bends down to pick up the broken glass, not wanting anyone to get a flat tire. Later Darry and Ponyboy fight, which make Sodapop run out of the house because he can't take it anymore and they are tearing him apart. The brothers makeup and race back home. Ponyboy finds a note from Johnny telling him to stay gold. Ponyboy decides that he wants to tell the story of his friends.
Darry has been waiting up for him and is furious. Darry slaps Ponyboy and instantly regrets it. Ponyboy now knows for sure that Darry doesn't want him and runs out the door. Ponyboy finds Johnny then they go to the park, later the notice Soc’s arrive, the Soc’s attack Ponyboy and try to drown him in a fountain, Johnny pulls this switchblade out and stabs Bob (Ponyboy’s attacker) and kills him. Dally gives them a loaded gun and money and tells them to hide in a church out of town until he comes and gets them. Dally later meets them there, he takes them out to Dairy Queen, while they’re coming back, they see the church is on fire, and they hear that children and a man are stuck in there, the three of them go in the church that’s on fire and save the man and the children. Johnny is the last one out and suffers from lots of injuries and dies. Dally robs a store and then the police shots him because he pulls out a gun (Dally wanted to die after Johnny did because Johnny was the only person he ever
In the case of the nineteen year-old boy accused of murdering his father, the defendant was found not guilty. After a six-day trial and much deliberation, the jury reached a verdict of not guilty. The boy was found not guilty because of problems with the testimony of an old man, questions about the the testimony of an old woman, and discrepancy regarding the stab wound of the victim.
4. Serial killers also show signs of a psychopath though this is not always the case. Psychopaths lack empathy and guilt, are egocentric and impulsive and don’t conform to social, moral, or legal norms. Psychopaths have a distinct set of rules for themselves. They appear normal and are often very charming and charismatic.
In Twelve Angry Men a boy is being charged with premeditated homicide for supposedly stabbing his father. In the begging all the jurors except one vote guilty and all think he’s guilty. They all think he’s guilty because of what the witnesses say they heard and saw alone with the boy’s background of crime and where he has lived. “Look, you know how these people lie! It's born in them!
The argument that I will be analysing is the argument about the knife supposedly use as the murder weapon. The knife was brought up into the conversation because is was supposed to be a “one of a kind knife” but 8th juror desiced to challenge these claim made in court. The evidence behind this claim was, jury was told that it was found as the murder weapon. This knife was linked to the boy because he had boughten the same knife a couple blocks down the street from his apartment. When the boy purchased the knife the selling point was that the knife is that is was supposedly “one of a kind”, that no one else has its twin or a similar knife. The boy claims that the knife found was not his. That the knife had fallen out of his a hole in his pocket while he was walking to the movie theater. So when the knife was brought into question the majority of the jurors believed the evidence they were given in court without a doubt. But the 8th
What if you constantly had to look over your shoulder, worrying about trying not to be seen? What if you were always on the run, zig-zagging your way through crowds trying not to be caught? These are a couple of the things the players in a high school game called, Senior Assassin or otherwise known as Killer, have to keep in mind. Killer is a last-man-standing shootout and ambush. Fear not, it’s only water pistols, right? Role-playing games with simulated violence are perilous for teens because, it’s unhealthy, dangerous, and at most times, illegal.
I don’t really know what to say to you. To be quite honest, I hate you. Everything you do is cruel. Do you find pleasure in destroying lives? You go after people the day they are born and constantly stay in the back of their mind. You rip people away from their families and everything they have ever known. It’s just not fair. But, I guess it is natural and without you there would be no room for new people on this earth.
“Then I saw Johnny. ‘I killed him,’ he said slowly. ‘I killed that boy.’ Bob, the handsome Soc, was lying there in the moonlight, doubled up and still.”(PDF 49). This quote supports the opinion that this is wrong because Johnny is admitting that he killed Bob the soc, without saying it is out of self defence or any other reason. He is admitting to a crime he was said to have committed. This quote proves that he is guilty for murdering Bob the soc. However, though this may be true, Johnny is innocent from the crime of murdering Bob because he was protecting his 3rd party. “I fought again desperately but only sucked in water. I'm drowning, I thought, they've gone too far... A red haze filled my mind and I slowly relaxed. The next thing I knew I was lying on the pavement beside the fountain…‘I had to. They were drowning you, Pony. They might have killed you.’ ”(PDF 49+50). This provides support that Johnny is innocent because it shows how Ponyboy was drowning and was in the moment of dying. It didn’t leave Johnny an option but to help Ponyboy. If he hadn’t helped him, Ponyboy would have died and Johnny would have to fight against all of the socs attacking
Claim: However, Johnny still can be considered innocent of murder because he killed Bob out of self defense, he had to defend Ponyboy, and the Socs were the ones who provoked the fight.
In the book “The Things They Carried” and the chapter “The Man I Killed” O’Brien is the speaker. He is talking about the man he killed over in Vietnam. I feel as if O’Brien kind of thought way too much about this guy’s life. I also think that he dragged it out a bit more then he needed to. In the poem “The Man He Killed” Thomas Hardy is the speaker. He talks about how the guy he killed and himself could have been good friends if they didn’t end up as enemies. He said he had to do what the job was meaning they were both infantry and he shot him dead to do his duties. “ But ranged as infantry, And staring face to face, I shot at him as he at me, and killed him in his place” (Hardy Stanza 2) He talks about how he thinks it was a good thing
Rudolph Pliel once said that, “every man has his passion; some like whist, I prefer killing people." Despite how chilling that quote may be, what may be even more disturbing is the fact that Pliel is not alone in this serial killer frame of mind towards murdering innocent people. Serial killers can be linked to one another based on similar traits shared through upbringing, mental stability or fulfillment they feel from killing. Serial killers are driven to kill to fulfill a pleasure. While not all serial killers are driven to kill for the same reasons, one equalizing factor between them all is their need to carry out their urges or gain something from their murders.
In today’s time murder plays the biggest role in life. It is not making the world anything any better than what it is now. Even younger minors and teens are being introduced to violence like this. If someone were to murder someone they should be abused and beating to death this will would be their only option. There would be three major effects if this were to happen.
Not everyone can commit homicide. Homicide commonly happens in our community and it is looked upon as a tragedy. Homicide is horrible, but familicide is worse. Familicide occurs when not only the perpetrator kills their spouse, but also kills their children. To commit this crime the perpetrator must have a motivate like revenge or suicide. Not every one is capable of committing homicide because of our state of mind does not change in a second it takes some time for that to occur. The community believes that the perpetrator must have a mental illness to commit such horror, and they are right.
