As children, people look up to others whom they find significant. Whether they’re superheroes like Superman, or historical figures like Julius Caesar, juveniles often want to be like them when they’re older. However, as they grow up and realize that such dreams aren’t achievable, they begin to look up to people in their everyday lives. Such people generally consist of relatives, friends, or celebrities; for me, it is my mother.
Whenever I think of my mother, I form a vivid image of what she’s like. She’s a woman of great size and blond hair with a degree in psychology, and possesses distinctive qualities that are not found in ordinary women. Whenever I think of her, various childhood memories flood my mind, the most prominent being when I

It was a hot, summer day at a beach resort, which contained hundreds of little houses, each one for a visiting family. After running around in the blazing sun, my friend and I stopped by his house for a quick beverage. Ready to keep going, we decided to hop over the veranda as it was a shorter exit. The veranda was in the back of the old, brown, one floored wooden house. The distance from the top of the veranda to the ground was no more than four feet, and jumping over it seemed like an easy task. After my friend hopped the veranda, it was my turn. However, on the way down, one of my feet slipped and I fell down… hard. As I looked over to my right, my right arm was completely broken. My friend looked perplexed when he saw what happened. The bones of my forearm formed a ninety degree angle and it looked like I had two elbows. I had to repeatedly tell him to run to my house and get my mother as fast as he could. For a while, I was clueless as to why I felt no pain; later I learned it was due to adrenaline. When my mother arrived, she remained calm and called the ambulance after asking if I felt alright. I expected her to yell at me and go berserk, but to my surprise, she looked composed as ever. However, years after the incident, I learned that she cried and shook on the inside. Nonetheless, she remained strong and assured me that everything would be
Emperor Augustus was the most influential emperor in the history of the Roman Empire. He was also the first emperor of the Roman Empire. His real name was Octavian, but he was given the name Augustus when he took over as emperor. From early on in his life, he was an established leader. He began wearing a toga at just age sixteen, which is the Roman sign of manhood. He began to take on the responsibilities associated with his family’s connections. His uncle was Julius Caesar, who was leader of Rome before he became emperor. Octavian fought along his uncle in battle. From early on in his life, Octavian had the qualities of an impressive leader, and he showed these qualities later in his life.
Another weaknesses that he had was his need to rely on Brutus to lead the conspiracy and then later to win over the crowd after killing Caesar. The reason behind this was because Cassius wasn’t as respected as Brutus. Brutus was known for his strength of character and his integrity, which made him a natural leader. He thought that he was capable of manipulating Brutus like a puppet master, to gain power on the coattails of his labors. Cassius also needed Brutus to help kill Caesar so it would look like an act of greater good for the preservation of the Republic, not an act of evil for personal gain. Brutus’ charisma meant he could influence crowds into thinking that killing Caesar was to preserve the freedom of Rome. Once Caesar was dead,

However, after Crassus's death Julius and Pompey turned against each other and started a war against one another.
A group of nobleman have been found responsible for the change in Ancient Rome’s government, from a monarchy to a republic! This group of nobleman took charge, causing an uprising against the king Tarquin the Proud, killing him and, overall, changing the type of government all together. This took place in Ancient Rome, specifically in 509 BCE.
Caesar and Cornelia first meet during their captivity at the shelter. In The Tragedy of Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare, Mark Antony resembles Joe Biden in many ways. These two powerful, political figures have similarities between them that I would have never guessed would be there. For example, both men were allocated important roles to a leader or president. They were both appointed to be second in command, or a vice president to their chief. This also led to them having almost identical occupations in their later life. Another detail about these men is that they both had great loves of their lives at one point. These women both had an influential impact on one of the men’s lives. Mark Antony and Joe Biden have similar ways they speak and use some of the same methods into their speeches and writings. These
Rome is a city of stone, but when I leave it will be a city of marble!!!
Julius Caesar is most often depicted as a stoic, resilient, and nigh god-like figure, but what many might be disheartened to hear, he was only but a man and suffered from a plethora of health issues. Many believe that Caesar was afflicted with epilepsy but according to Evan Andrews of the The life of Julius Caesar was one that has been publicized and dramatized for centuries. Even I at a young age was introduced to the story and life of this vicarious man. I will use the research that I have found to teach you about his life and his career.
I chose to do my research paper on Augustus Caesar. The reason I chose him is because there are few people in history to reach his level of dominance and authority that he possessed. It was over two thousand years ago and his name is still very well known in history. He left his mark on history like very few people that have ever live. In this research paper, I will first write about his story to leadership and how he abstained power. Following this will be an in depth breakdown of his leadership style and how he chose to lead others.
Wikipedia is more often than not viewed as an unreliable source when doing research for any particular topic and the reason is the fact that normal people are able to edit any Wikipedia post. It’s so easy for people use Wikipedia as a source simply because it is the first source that comes up when doing a search on a topic and people just assume that everything is correct when that might not be the case. I will be looking at a Wikipedia post about Julius Caesar and seeing the changes that have been made over time to more accurately tell us information about this topic. I will also compare this Wikipedia to another established reference source such as the Encyclopedia Britannica (EB). The purpose of this comparison is to see how authoritative
Gaius Julius Caesar, a man of honor, born on 13 July 100 BCE, is currently on the look to be our next supreme ruler of the Roman Republic. He has been offered the crown three times to become our Republic’s new emperor after his astounding victory at the Battle of Munda. Even though most prestigious generals would gladly accept the offer to rule this civilized republic, he did not. Not only is Julius Caesar a great general, but he has also claimed descent from Ascanius, King of Alba Longa; son of Trojan Prince Aeneas; son of Prince Anchises and goddess Venus. Julius Caesar, as he is most commonly known, had a moderately tough childhood just like any other civilian out there. When he was just sixteen years old, his father, Gaius Julius Caesar(Sr.),
The very idea of a monarchy is riddled with flaws. A monarchy passes the power and responsibility of running a kingdom down by blood relatives without second thought, which gives power to those who are hated, unfit for rule, or plain incompetent for such a rule. The tradition dates back to centuries where they thought their monarchs were god-like. Some even believed their kings were gods. However, the current king seems like less than a divine god and more like a putrid demon that crawled from the very depths of the underworld. He has abused his power as king and refused to listen to our various complaints and requests. He has become a tyrant, meaning he has used his sovereign rule oppressively, smothering our wants and needs in favour of his
Galois was born into a family involved in the French First Republic in Bourg-la- Reine a commune in the French Empire. His father was amiable and highly philosophical in nature;he directed a school educating about sixty boarders. He was later elected mayor of Bourg-la-Reine. His mother, Adelaïde-Marie, was from a family of jurists and had received a more traditional education; she was well-versed in Latin and Classical Literature. She had a headstrong personality and was eccentric, even considered queer by many. Galois had a sister named Nathalie-Théodore and a brother called Alfred. Shakespeare's Julius Caesar is the story of the resulting conflicts from the assassination of perpetual dictator and Roman emperor, Julius Caesar. A great friend of Caesar, Mark Antony, comes to the senate to see the dead body of their dictator. He pretends to not be angry at those who took part in the assassination, and asks to speak at his funeral, a request which he is granted. However, after the men leave, he begins a soliloquy in which he suggests that Caesar's spirit will take revenge upon his murderers and invoke a war involving the entire country. Antony begins the revenge of his death by speaking at the funeral about the wrong done to Caesar, the man's generosity to the people, and how Brutus tried to persuade them to
Hello people of Rome, I am Jenna and I am running your dictator. Dictators are only to be called upon in times of crisis, I believe the time is now. Rome is in turmoil, our military resources are at an all time low, there is unrest between plebeians and patricians, and the people of Rome's hunger for artistic and intellectual excellence has disappeared. I have concluded that the cause for this crisis is the lack of a strong and able leader. Under my rule I will invest more in our military, as governments main job is the protection of its citizens. I will work to find peace amongst the classes of Rome through representation based on numbers. I will refocus our citizens on not only achieving superiority of the body, but of the mind through increased
