Sometimes the Earth is more cool than you can imagine. After the high 80 earthquake on January 12th, 2010, Leonard Pitts, and award-winning journalist, wrote a powerful article to show the Earth's “cruelty” and the tragedy that struck Haiti. The article “ Sometimes the Earth is Cruel” portrays the Haitian people's response to an earthquake by using figurative language, a strong theme, and a powerful message. Throughout the article a strong theme of persistence is displayed and a compelling message is portrayed by showing the Haitians perseverance and the Earth's cruelty. The theme of “Sometimes the Earth is Cruel,” is perseverance through tragedy.
I realized that not everyone will accept the choices you have to make throughout my life, but knowing its to better my well being is much greater than satisfying others. This year I have came to the conclusion to not go off of what others may say about someone, but to learn on your own how they truly are. Rumors are nurotios for getting twisted from what might really be the truth about someone. Worrying about others is something that has to come last because before you know it ... you will end up loosing yourself in the prosess of helping
You just need to get more serious about taking care of that part of your responsibility.
What I really want you to remember is that when thing get hard is to think who is trying to help you and who is not and who is making your life a mess and look for the better side of life and give a little bit more notice to those that are trying to help you and say thanks for the help and try to follow in their
I wish passionately that the turn of events that occurred this year were different but that is not possible and I feel the need to explain myself and the reasoning behind my unsatisfactory
It was the hardest year of my life, but, it is also the most memorable because it has been teaching life lessons like telling the truth or, make friends who won’t use you. The most important life lesson I think I have learned is to never give up on life even though it is got you down. I hope next year is a lot
I remember falling asleep, but I don’t remember being in a bed. I had fallen asleep in the hall due to my emotional state. My body didn’t need the sleep. My mind did. I’m actually happy I did. It got my mind off all my problems and sorrows for a good while. I sit up, pushing the unfamiliar blankets off my body. I’m in a strange hard bed in a foreign room. Everything around me feels new and alien. This isn’t my dull little prison. This room is slightly decorated with light brown walls and a dresser covered with random things.
This year has been one of the most significant of my life so far. I feel that about every year, but I think that 2016 is a record breaker. I’ve gotten my anxiety more under control, and I feel confident and comfortable in my skin. School-wise I’m still a mess. I’m still trying my best but not doing as well as I hoped, but soon all these grades will be meaningless and I can finally be free.
What is your desired outcome should you face this situation or one like it in the future? Who or what can you consults with to assist you in better managing this situation?
Through life you are always presented with a situation, now not always are those situations fair. There will be times when you are presented with an easy situation to deal with, but that isn’t always the case. Whenever we are put into a situation that we deem to be unfair, everyone has their own way of dealing with it.
In the article “Sometimes, the Earth is cruel”, It’s been said that life can be cruel and sometimes you have no choice but to deal with it. The author Leonard Pitts discusses the devastating effects of the tropical storms and hurricanes also, how it affected the people that were evolved, and responses of people in Haiti. People in Haiti were devastated. The author Leonard Pitts stated in the article that those people were “weeping, and mourn,” and “memorializing the dead.” That tells us that the people in Haiti were strong and was able to move on from the tragedy.
The Cold War was tense period for the world. The superpowers of the world, Russia and the United States were both capable of causing world destruction through nuclear weapons. The Americans were tired and just wanted to the tensions to ease. USSR and The United States competed over various things to show superiority, including the space race and especially the massive arms buildup. President John F. Kennedy and Prime Minister Nikita Khrushchev both had promises that they had made to the nation. Khrushchev was close to losing popularity in Russia, the Russians believed that he was not doing enough for the country as a leader. Kennedy’s statements bragging about “U.S. nuclear superiority” (Donaldson 118), made Khrushchev and the Soviet look bad.
Overall, although these situations arise, it is probably not in your best well being to depend on them. Life is short. I wouldn’t blame you for trying to make it a good one but depending on it will only set you up for
