Keep playing.
Recently I saw a Gatorade commercial staring Serena Williams.
I related to this advertisement on a deeper level, so I wanted to share it with you.
Serena recently had a daughter with her new husband Alexis Ohanian. To provide a little background on these two parents, Serena is currently tied for the most Grand Slam singles titles with 22, has been to the Olympics and is one of the most dominant tennis players in history. And her husband Alexis is no chump either. He co-created the website Reddit, so this baby has a lot to live up to.
But the message that Gatorade is promoting is a notice of encouragement to young women with the help of Serena and her baby girl. To her this message is important.
Although Serena has had so much success in tennis, she is reminding her daughter that it’s okay not to follow her footsteps, but in whatever athletic path she takes, put her whole heart into it

They find your sisters. They help you learn lessons. They teach you courage, hard work and inspiration. They transfer to different mediums in life. They build you into a better person. And over all, they help girls keep playing in life.
To me, this commercial wasn’t just an advertisement. It was something that moved me. It explained the feelings I have towards athletics and put them into words. It was something I related to because I felt like I was talking to my future child.
So, I applaud both Serena and Gatorade. Keep inspiring young girls to play, and I will keep promoting you.

During the earlier years of my tennis career, about the age of seven, my parents had learned of a nearby organization at Watkins Park Maryland. The organization was known as the Prince George’s Tennis and Education Foundation. It was here where I began to make my largest strides in my life, both academically and athletically.
All of the logos, pathos, and ethos combined within this advertisement is what makes this ad so great. Without one of these, this ad would of been a waste of money and
I have had the pleasure of studying alongside Brittany Murphy for 8 years. Brittany Murphy is not only my classmate, but she is one of my best friends. She’s a friend that I know that I can trust and that I can always count on. She’s always there for me, and she’s a great person. I would describe Brittany as a team player, not only in life, but in sports. She has played softball and basketball during her high school career. She has always been very dedicated to sports. Currently, she is headed to the State 3-point shootout, and she’s the only one from Canton. I have always enjoyed watching her play because she gets into the game. She’s not one to be pushed around, and she helps lead the team to victory. She dedicates much of her time to sports,
From time to time, I feel that everything I do is worthless if I don’t make it to college, or win my tennis tournament, or get straight A’s. I get overwhelmed thinking that I will let down people who believed in me when the world thought I should fail. A stop light is flashing. It’s a sign. No one will be mad or disappointed with me. My family, friends, and God love me for the way I am. I am doing my best and that is all I should be focused on. I am smiling as we are passing tennis courts and pulling up at the school’s parking lot. I can see courageous little girl swinging with her pink racket and missing bright green balls. That reminded me of the times I dove, fell, cried, and tore my skin in order to finally hit that ball where I want it and when I want it. So much passion and focus was put in every practice and match I have ever had. Yes, I hoped for the rain, occasionally, so I can skip my practice. But,I have never said it out loud. I was always there to protect my dream and give all I have for tennis. This girl is doing the same, even though her dad is getting inpatient and she is stumbling by the racket's weight. It’s about overcoming inner fears and what others think of me. This is so clear to me now as I am looking at countless misses that this young hero makes.
Your Gatorade is great but, there are a few things wrong. Our stuff doesn't really assemble people more energetic or alive it like kool-aid. It tastes OK, but it doesn't really wake you up or involve keep well for a few minutes does but, that is the sugar. I have done some research and here is what I come up with.So what else is inside a serving of Gatorade? For starters, a single serving of Gatorade contains 14 grams of sugar. This isn't the simple table sweetener you are familiar with but, a potent mix of heavily refined sucrose grenadine, think liquefied empty calories, and glucose-fructose. Awarding to modern statistics, Americans already use 2.5 pounds of sugar weekly. Diseases, including conditions of the heart, joints, bone, brain, blood,
This advertisement did a great job of pulling in the emotional connection to its audience. Since the beginning of time, women have been reminded of being inferior to men in society. Nike wants women to challenge this stereotype and go out and be better.
All year, I had thought about hearing these words, walking down the halls, being high-fived. All year, I had imagined the title. “Varsity tennis player.” That day, though, walking down that hall, I wasn’t being congratulated. I wasn’t being high-fived, called out, or clapped for. We were being clapped for. I realized that it wasn’t about walking down the hall, it was being a part of the Northern Tennis Team that was special. Surrounding me were the men, the brothers, the family that was our tennis team. These were the same men that played through years of tennis camps with me, had lost blood, sweat and tears on these same courts, and had taught each other
Many of the advertisements we see in this era are often promoting unhealthy, unnatural products. Most of the notorious Super Bowl advertisements are junk food or alcohol brands. They usually take the normal path and appeal fun and adventurous side of people; this is why I was surprised to come by this advertisement that was appealing to the more reasonable side to a person. It includes aspects of family, health, everybody’s inner child.
For years women were told that they couldn’t play sports. Many people started to believe this stereotype from a young age due to our society. Parents usually put their sons in sports and their daughters in dance or gymnastics. This then made women feel like they couldn’t play contact sports. This ad is not just selling us a product, but it is selling us on the idea that women can be athletic too.
Just like the guitar for Taylor Swift, writings for Ms. Lawler, Sports, especially ball games, are my things. My parents have always taught me to stay active and their love for tennis has influenced me to participate in this activity. Even though the weather in central Pennsylvania does not give me much chance to play, I always keep a racket in my room. Black and white color block with pink lines, my lovely tennis racket has been wrapped in a black velvet bag and awaits my calls to bring it back to the court. Now, whenever I hold my little tennis buddy on the field and use its supports to withstand the opponent’s attack, I recall a particular moment of my tennis lesson and a part of advice my coach gives me.
The advertisement begins with a father and his son walking towards their car. The son is wearing a football uniform and is carrying a trophy. His father asks him if he can see the trophy. The son hands his father the trophy, which reads “Participant.” We see the father instantly look upset, and then we hear his thoughts, “Participation trophy? But we, we won every game. Why do we get the same trophy as all those teams we’d beaten? Are we gonna start ending games with hugs instead of handshakes?” He begins repeating the word ‘no’ over and over again as he breaks off the engraving that says ‘Participant’ and then he
I have been taking tennis lessons at Tualatin Hills Tennis Center for more than three years. I always want Teri’s class because she has a great way of teaching students. When I asked her that if she has a role model, “Absolutely,” she said, “I think my students appreciate my skills and they say I have a fun job.” As she said, I agree that her lesson is fun. Teri said she loves seeing her students getting better at tennis and making them smile. She enjoys teaching, and she is always so eager to teach me and make me better at tennis. Now thanks to Teri, I have become good enough to make her run, which is not a common occasion. Teri is an excellent instructor.
To encourage me to play, my parents decided to take me to watch professional players. I didn’t really know what was going on but I knew that I had little interest in the game of tennis. I watched as the players ran around the court trying to hit every ball back to their opponent. I found it to be a waste of time and energy to run after every single ball.
As the strings of my tennis racquet hit the ball, it creates a crisp sound as the ball soars swiftly through the air. The ball breezes past my opponent, as his racquet misses the target. I let out a resounding scream; I had just won the match. The feeling I received was pure bliss. I overcame an hardship, never gave up and fought to the end. This is the feeling that playing tennis gives me. The ability to express myself through a sport, and to challenge myself to the fullest. To overcome a great obstacle , like tennis, really helps me grow and mature. This is the one activity I would want to continue to
Ads are a very big part of everyday life. If we watch TV we see ads, if we walk down the street we see some form of an ad. One ad in particular caught my interest. It is the Nintendo Switch Super bowl LI-Extended Cut. In the book The Pop Culture Zone, it breaks down how advertisers make ads to apply to basic human desires. I think that is a very effective and thought out ad that captures the attention of a large audience targeting on multiple desires we have as human beings.
